Dear Ernesto, The Chinese astrology is based on the five visible planets: Mercury Mars Venus Jupiter Saturn Each of these planets are related to an element: Mercury = water element Mars = Fire Venus = Metal Jupiter = Wood Saturn = Earth These five elements x the 12 Chinese zodiac signs represent = 60 year cycle. You are partially correct in that this 60 year cycle is reinforced by what we call the planet cycles or their full obit: Here, mercury takes 10 years to complete a full orbit; Mars = 15 years; Saturn 30 years and Jupiter = 12 years (other than venus) this approximately gives us around 60 years. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, In my opinion, I believe that; the middle east talks is a complicated process especially since, the Palestians were unfortunately `chased' out of their land when Jews settled to form their country with the blessing of the West. As Israel and occupied settlements (land area) is small, and where many Jews had settled in occupied territories... I believe peace can be a complicated process. With the escalating crisis; I think, "Feng Shui" has to take a `back seat' as it may not be of help in such siuations. But of course, picking good dates.. (if we consider the concept of Chinese divinity methods) may be help... Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Simon, Please see below:- Generally, the free reading you get is based on the version 7 where it only takes into account the 4 main pillars (hour, day, month, year). It does not yet take into account the two additional houses (House of Life and House of Conception) as in the version 8 reports. So it DOSE NOT provide a full reading. Also, because it is free, we did not fully analyse the various combinations/joins and clashes/harms/punishmens/self punishments. And lastly, it is all defaulted to the "weak" element. So you will only a basic reading but the fact that you are say a weak element (eg. weak wood). Means that your true element is a wood for example is 100% cor…

Dear Emily, Based on what you mentioned, the use of metal is often the common most effective cure as using 6 coins tied with a red string and simply hang it in that direction. However, what you have provided is the apartment number, usually for Apartment number, the main interpretation is usually auspicious or inauspicious. How much an impact it will create on you and your family depends greatly on the flying star analysis of your main door and the rooms which you stay in. As these are the areas where you are staying in most of time in the house which affects you most. So whether or not the house number analysis will really come true or not depends on the analysis of the…

Dear Chris, In my opinion, a holistic method of analysing a specific unit is to:- 1. Although Suntec City has been `feng shuied' not all `fingers' or areas within the building can be considered to have "exceptional" Feng Shui. 2. This is where, Shapes and Form comes in. Other than offices; if one is looking at locations of activity or e.g. a food outlet; it would be ideal to be located near to the region of the fountain. This is where, in reality most of the restaurants and food court is located. 3. For office complex; one needs to look at it in relation to other `fingers' and also to check on external threats. 4. For the unit on level 28; one can still look at it interms…

Dear Rosie, Apologies for the late reply. If you have determined using Flying Star and found that this is a misfortune area, usually this #5 should be looked at in conjuction with the other two Flying Star numbers of that sector. For example, mountain #5, water star #2, base star #3 - under Flying Star, and using the Five Elements concept, this sector is out of balance. You can use metal cures to neutralise the imbalance caused at this sector. Warmest Regards, Cecil

That killer outfit you just brought home from the dry cleaners really can kill you, experts warn. That's because perchloroethylene (perc), the chemical used by most dry cleaners, has been linked to a multitude of health woes - including cancer. "Perc is an effective cleaner; but it's also extremely toxic. It enters the body through the skin and respiratory system, is stored in the fatty tissues and stays with you for a long time". Perc has been classified as a dangerous chemical for years and studies have shown exposure to it increases the risk of bladder and esophageal cancer; asthma and reproductive problems. People who work in or live near dry cleaners are most at ri…

An intriguing article that explores the concept of what constitutes 'true peace.' A depiction of tranquility... Once, a monarch announced a competition for the artist who could create the finest representation of peace. Numerous artists participated, and the king reviewed all the submissions. Ultimately, he found himself drawn to two particular works, necessitating a choice between them. The first artwork portrayed a serene lake, which served as a flawless reflection of the majestic mountains surrounding it. Above, a clear blue sky adorned with fluffy white clouds completed the idyllic scene. Viewers unanimously regarded this piece as the epitome of p…

Dear Lise, There are a few Feng Shui theories which allow you to find you something about your personal element. The two least accurate method are:- 1. Taking the year of birth (ie water dragon year to mean that you are a water dragon year). 2. Taking the Kua Element (ie. Kua 3 - Chen which is Wood). So in you case you conflict of the element is due to the above. Both are not a very theory to determine your element simply because it only takes into account the year of birth. The more accurate way is to use the Ba Zi Feng Shui which takes in account the day, month, year, and hour of birth, giving you the most accurate element. (ie. a wood person born in the year of a water…

Dear Anon, 1. Yes, it is best not to be `involved' with religious objects if one can. 2. Recently many Feng Shui emporiums are in my opinion `selling' items that only burn a big hole. 3. I was infact disturbed a few days ago when I just took a glance at many of the Feng Shui emporiums. And all shorts of `rubbish stuffs'. It is a pity especially for those who are already short of cash and buy them to get into real problems. 4. Frankly, all this is also due to the consumer. For example, recently a friend of my father had asked me to help do a audit of their home. As usual, the house is littered with `three huge laughing buddha statues. And not less than three fish tanks a…

Edward Li Juming of Hongkong said the Hang Seng Index in 2008 will hit higher and higher points. He also said this year will see dreadful epidermics like Sars.He did notmention a word about the China blizzards at the beginning of 2008,or the Sichuan earthquake. He alsoproclaimed, like a demigod, that the love affair between Tony Leung and Carina Lau was not true, and that they would never marry. He also failed to predict the US financial crisis.......... All these were not insignificant events of 2008.Yet as a professional geomancer, and touted as an accurate auger,he did not manage to see these happening. Many other practitioners don't even dare to predict anything because …

1. If you frequently carry multiple credit cards and use them excessively, leading to accumulating roll-over credits, a clever solution is to freeze the cards in a bowl of water. 2. By freezing the credit cards, it will deter you from using them impulsively as you will have to wait for them to thaw properly before using them again. 3. This method serves as a reminder to limit the number of credit cards you have, ideally keeping only one or two for regular use, with the second one as a backup for emergencies or travel purposes. Warmest Regards, Cecil IN CONCLUSION The text advises those with multiple credit cards to freeze them in a bowl o…

Dear Peck Wun, Please see below:- It depends. Feng Shui is all about trying to squeeze as much luck as possible for a home. On some areas, this is highly impossible. But overall, it is about trying to squeeze as much luck of the home as possible. Let me illustrate:- Based on what I have experienced: ================================ Take for example: the Rivervale Crest condominium. This condo, TOP last year. And when I first discussed the layout plan with a few clients who had purchased it, one or two years prior to their taking the keys; they have a toilet at the centrepoint of their home. Nevertheless, fortunately, the condo unit they are staying is more of rectan…

As I have said before, many bazi and fengshuilearnersjump on the bandwagon just to rake it in,and quickly too.Not only new practitioners, but the so-called experienced ones are, well, obsessed with money too. That's why they need to have fengshui "conventions",advertise full-page in the papers, etc,in order to raise their public profiles in the world. Paying close to S$300 just for a bazi reading? For that amount, you can get many good books on bazi and read up yourself,or read the postings on bazi forums. Am rather curious what "secrets"the "experts" will graciously "transmit" to the audienceat the coming Singapore fengshui"convention" at Suntec City.At last year's(2007) "c…

Dear Rose, To answer some of your question:- a. For the poison arrow from street lamp, if you have aday curtain keep it close so that the lamp does not cut into your home. b. A house with missing corners is typically not good. There is very little you can do to fix this given you are on the 2nd floor. But such corners does make decorating it quite a challenge. c. As for the clutter, unfortunately too much items makes anyone feel uncomfortable. You should try to do some cleaning to clear some of the unused item. Also having lots of storage space can help keep such items out of sight. It seems that you had posted several posting. And seemed quite desperate. The best I …

Dear Ellen, There is often no issue in hanging a personal portait. Often, it can be hung along the staircase landing area or in the living room area or a prominent wall within the living or study room. Only avoid hanging the portait against the same wall as the toilet bowl. Or facing a toilet or facing the kitchen entrance area. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Terry, Frankly, it has more to do with symbolism than to find a gourd that is opened or closed. If it is placed in a toilet environment i.e. lots of moisture, then, ideally the material in which it is made of should be able to "withstand" such an enviroment. Whether it has an open "mouth" or closed one should not be a major issue, here. Warmest Regards, Cecil Quote: Terry Yuen wrote: Regarding hanging a gourd between the toilet and the master bedroom, can you elabotate the gourd should be opened or closed at the top since they are sold hollowed out with the top as a stopper.
