  3. The Singapore local version has a dull light to dark brown colour. Part of the sparrow species. Once captured will usually bite it’s tongue. Thus will never ever see them in captivity. Often goes in a pair. In many other countries, they can be in yellow, bluish etc... Hokkiens called it: “ceck Kar Chiao” which literally means rice bird.

  8. Dear Kaushal, 1. I believe I have posted a lengthy reply on this subject in one of today's reponse to an earlier e-mail. In my opinion, in general, Feng Shui has an `indirect' relationship or effect on Love and romance or finding a partner. 2. Flying Star Feng Shui can help to identify and help. 3. 9. 85 Redhill at Valley Point Shopping Centre, River Valley Reasonably priced + tasty fish ball / minced meat noodles. Price range from SGP $4/- to $6/-. Although their noodle chilli is not spicy; the food is tasty. And noodles smooth and texture is good. Even takeaways.. the noodles although “expanded” does not stick together. And acceptable taste = not sticky or dry. They also have assorted rice dishes. Much like another brand: Inche Tan cafe. Their Tim sum mostly baos and siew mai are also quite tasty and reasonably priced. Their Big meat Bao is $1.80 each. Nice. Large red chillies are not spicy... looks deceive..

  12. Kandang Kerbau Market History. Today it is renamed Tekka Market Tekka Market, also known as Kandang Kerbau Market, was built in 1915 and became a well-known marketplace for fresh cut meat. The name, Kandang Kerbau, made reference to the surrounding cattle trade and means "buffalo enclosure" in Malay. The Chinese called it tek kah because of the wild bamboo found in the area. 20. Spice @ Spices Location: Redhill Market #01-89 closed on Mondays (like today) Mum says their powdered spice mixes many times better than that of Geylang Serai market.. Furthermore can keep in the fridge for couple of months when needed. Operating usually from the mornings to around 2pm plus. Understand from the elderly couple running the stall that it was his former mother’s-in-law stall like around for I believe 70 or more years! For dry ingredients: $1 or $2 per packet..

Geylang has one of the highest densities of Chinese Temples & clan / business associations in Singapore. Mosque and religious facilities are also abound here. The only thing is that local banks do not provide financing for homes and apartments in this district. You have to pay cash to purchase a home, here. This has to do with it’s shady side = a red light district. Geylang also is popular with lots of unique eateries. Phitos taken around Lorong 12 Geylang. This type of iron gate is sturdy and remarkably easy to use and access: Geylang has a spread of specialised coffee shops. From soya milk to frog legs etc.... …
