  1. Note: Below is not `real' but rather, a *Joke* about the use of yellow talisman to ward-off virus attack to one's PC:- For those of you prone to computer crash / virus attack /whatever computer problems, you are advised to: 1. print out then burn the attached ang kong hu (ang kong talisman), and drink the water from the ash 2. recite always the following mantra " popi computer bei hang, bei tiuk virus, always peng an ". Under Para 2, this is based on Hokkien sentence which is interpretted as: "Pray hard that my computer does not hang or get virus and always peaceful."

  4. Location: 588 x Ang Mo Kio Street 52. (For privacy, I have masked out the exact unit number.) Did you see a water melon hung in-front of the unit number plate. Did you also see two halves of a water melon. (Plus a lime cut-into-two pieces)Each half was placed on each side of the floor of the main entrance. A candle stick each was also placed and most likely lighted up when the family just moved-in. The red colour dye is most probably vermillion which is red in colour. And don't mistaken it for some ritual slaughter of an animal's blood. .

By Asian standards, this lifebuoy is placed too high! Although it is a good thing to place it high i.e. to avoid people playing aroundwith it; but as a lifesaver, this isdangerous! Hopefully, thiscondo has more lifesaving devices than only this lifebuoy! Please it lower - STU-PIG! Location: The Tropica... 2011 P.S. If this is for real = real lifesaver; it should always be placed at least at an adult's waist level; to ensure that even a 10 year old child is able to get hold of it. This is pure commonsense. If it is merely for decorative purposes.. then... nevermind..

  8. This muslim shrine is behind a row of shop-house in the Tanjong Pagar area. Wow! This muslim shrine is there since 1891. And engraved are the words "Shrine of Sharifah Rogayah". And it looks like it has been taken care of! And someone or a group of persons still pay their respects as flowers still line the tomb... A search in the internet yield some resources and one of the several links shows:- http://www.spi.com.sg/spi_files/sharifah_rogayah_shrine/main00.htm

  10. The Georgetown Coffee House in Tampines West uses tasteful advertisements.. Here the saying goes: “Photos tells a thousand words” And literally, not a single word is ever used on this large frontage! And plus brightly lit! If one has seen other signages, must say this is not only smart, clever and clean looking.. ”Our brand + photos of our food” that’s all on the signage” Now this is advertising 101 at it’s finest!

In Japan, local farmers prepare to pack and ship full-grown square watermelons. The idea of square watermelons was first developed 20 years ago so that they easily fit in refrigerators. The melons are placed in square tempered glass while they are growing. Source and credit: Los Angeles Times (6/15/2001)

1a. Type of Housing: Public Housing Estate 1b. Location: Common area in a specific estate in Bukit Batok Street 21 2. Did you see the two barbecue pits? 3. Frankly, this is my very first time seeing a barbeque pit specific for Muslims (as muslims don't eat pork = Malay word = babi ) 4. Perhaps, for some of you; this may be common-place. So far, I have yet to see such a designation or signage specific for this reason. 5. This is for info only .. as I mentioned above.. something rather new to me. Hope this posting does not "trigger" any race riot of sorts! It is really new to me. 6. Is this common especially in Muslim countries; or automatically all barbecue pits in Musli…

  16. Dear all, Recently, an intelligent client, gave a different perspective of winning a lottery. Client: "I have always won the lottery every time!" Client: "My method of winning the lottery is simple. Instead of going to the lottery booth to buy a ticket; I give it to my Minister of Finance (wife). She keeps it for me." Client: "At the end of the year, she presents me with a cheque for whatever amount I gave her for lottery minus the daily interest on it. (She keeps this as her admin fee). I used to spent at least $200 a month. And for sure, at the end of the year: Hey! I won $2,400/-! " Therefore, isn't correct that I won at lottery? Cheers! Cecil

Dear Anon, Further to what I mentioned earlier: 1. In real life, our inclination is not like extremes: hot or cold continuum. 2. Most of us are somewhere within the continuum. 3. For persons (or those who want to be FS practitioners) who are more abstract, or love more of drawings or graphics, can build on Shapes and Form and closer to this area. 4. For those who are more `mathematical', logical, should go for e.g. Flying Star Feng Shui. For example, one Western School Feng Shui, if you read the `Masters' credentials, he graduated from Bachelor in Mathematics or this close to this area, for quite sometime practises only Flying Star Feng Shui. If you were to visit the sit…
