  1. The underground car-park at Raffles Place. Today, many HDB car parks share this same idea of the 1960's. The upper level is a well landscaped garden. Change Alley a popular go to shopping alley in the 1960’s.

  2. In my opinion; the think-tank or mastermind leading the entire opposition is this party:- http://www.yoursdp.org Their combined academic qualifications is like Wow ! Wow ! Many of their speeches are as good as academic thesis of the highest degree. No wonder; many of it's members are Doctors! Not the medical kind but in other fields! Many now realise that Dr Chee Soon Juan... may in the future be associated as the person who forever changed the landscape of Singapore Democracy! Thus, MM Lee Kuan Yew; is the founding father of Singapore; BUT Dr Chee would forever be known as the father of TRUE Democracy! Majulah Singapura!

  3. Singapore Improvement Trust plans on Tiong Bahru Estate was built along/around Chinese Hokkien cemetery land. Which includes land currently occupied by S.G.H. This estate consists of 504 flats and a market. From the attachment one can see that the flats are conservatively laid out in uniform and orderly fashion. As much as possible, the roads are laid out also in orderly grid. If all the wordings were blank-out; believe me - if I sat that a quick glance: I could have mis-read it (mistaken) as a colonial British naval base. With warships parked along this wharf...

Dear All, Singapore is one of the safest and cleanest cities in the world. To some, Singapore is also called a `FINE' city. Singaporeans are `motivated' to use convience payment booth(s) strategically located all over the island for bills and other transactions. The government linked overlooking cashless transactions have come up with a novel way to `motivate' it's citizens with "Eye" catching machines. Maybe, this could also be due to market research of what best can be used to encourage one to use these machines. This snap-shot on the screen will tell you why, it will certainly "FORCE" one to use the machine. Or no excuse NOT TO "pay up your fines / penalties." On the …

Dear Ernesto, The Chinese astrology is based on the five visible planets: Mercury Mars Venus Jupiter Saturn Each of these planets are related to an element: Mercury = water element Mars = Fire Venus = Metal Jupiter = Wood Saturn = Earth These five elements x the 12 Chinese zodiac signs represent = 60 year cycle. You are partially correct in that this 60 year cycle is reinforced by what we call the planet cycles or their full obit: Here, mercury takes 10 years to complete a full orbit; Mars = 15 years; Saturn 30 years and Jupiter = 12 years (other than venus) this approximately gives us around 60 years. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Why not? Often, a secretary for a boss has many advantages:- 1. If the boss is up and rising; and eventually, he/she becomes the CEO or even to Senior Managers (SM); many secretaries I know; often get promoted to Managerial positions. 2. Here, most likely, the boss, has taken a liking to and appreciate the help; his/her secretary had provided him. And, had hope that she be given such a post. 3. Often also, the CEO or SM has also learned to trust her. And feels more comfortable with `his people' round him. 4. A secretary's job is quite good also. As it elevates the `face' of the secretary. For example, the secretary gets a first hand insight on the managerial skills; plus…

Dear students and all, Besides using Microsoft MS word, MS excel, if you really want to use a house/office layout program; why not look at these two software links:- This is easy to the software called : Smart Draw :- http://www.smartdraw.com and one can conveniently save to virtually any format. I have not evaluated this one, but perhaps, can Wasis give his comments. If I am not mistaken, he has used this? http://www.homeplanpro.com Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Peck Wun, Please see below:- It depends. Feng Shui is all about trying to squeeze as much luck as possible for a home. On some areas, this is highly impossible. But overall, it is about trying to squeeze as much luck of the home as possible. Let me illustrate:- Based on what I have experienced: ================================ Take for example: the Rivervale Crest condominium. This condo, TOP last year. And when I first discussed the layout plan with a few clients who had purchased it, one or two years prior to their taking the keys; they have a toilet at the centrepoint of their home. Nevertheless, fortunately, the condo unit they are staying is more of rectan…

Dear Anon, You brought up a very interesting question. My views are as follows:- 1. It has to depend on the quality of the Feng Shui " Master ". Many people simply give themselves title the Master title. Most people who are naive will equate all Masters to be equal. I believe it is best to go to the `root' of the situation by employing a reputable Feng Shui Master/ Practioner either through word of mouth or by their `reputation'. I believe that "You pay for what you get." 2. The best Feng Shui practioners are those who are willing to help others (of course with a fee involved). Contrast this to those who only want to earn money at their expense. Again this is difficult …
