Case Study 1: AC vs DC fans? Any advantages of a DC fan? These are some considerations: 1. AC fans have been around ever since electricity has been invented. 2. Generally, some find that DC fans costs more. Thus, in the long term; running costs are cheaper with a DC fan. Thus you do the maths. 3. AC fans can only spin one direction. Thus, the fan blades are optimized to "blow" wind downwards. 3.1. Here, DC fans have a distinct advantage. DC fans can be made to spin clockwise or anti-clockwise. Thus if so, instead of "blowing" wind downwards, it can also be made to "suck" air up to the ceiling. Thus especially if one has a high ceiling; the air can…

Source and credit: This came from a Rig Manager for Global Marine Drilling in St. Johns, Newfoundland. They actually have to divert the path of these things away from the rig by towing them with ships! Anyway, in this particular case the water was calm & the sun was almost directly overhead so that the diver was able to get into the water and click this pic. They estimated the weight at 300,000,000 tons. (See attached file: Iceberg 2.jpg)

An intriguing article that explores the concept of what constitutes 'true peace.' A depiction of tranquility... Once, a monarch announced a competition for the artist who could create the finest representation of peace. Numerous artists participated, and the king reviewed all the submissions. Ultimately, he found himself drawn to two particular works, necessitating a choice between them. The first artwork portrayed a serene lake, which served as a flawless reflection of the majestic mountains surrounding it. Above, a clear blue sky adorned with fluffy white clouds completed the idyllic scene. Viewers unanimously regarded this piece as the epitome of p…

The name Ang Mo Kio has been used since the mid-1800s, with early 19th-century maps marking the area as Amokiah, from whch its name is derived. But the meaning of Ang Mo Kio is unclear. In Hokkien, it can mean a foreigner's bridge or a tomato. The town was also the firs to be designed in metres and centimetres instead of the imperial system of feet and yards.

1. If you see the trunk of a tree "slicing" thru the window, it is considered a poison arrow. But if these are fine branches with or without leaves, it is a non-issue. An alternative is the placement of a convex mirror at waist level on the outside of the window. This conVEX mirror should be facing the tree trunk. 2. Sometimes, it may only be an illusion that of a tree trunk slicing towards the window. Often, if the tree (tree trunk) is on the side of the window, this is not considered a poison arrow. The tree (trunk) must be directly facing the window or tangent to it. 3. If it is the back of the staircase, it is often a non-issue. The main issue is to see the staircas…

Dear Joe, Please read below:- -----Original Message----- From: Listmanager To: Recipients of 'discussion-session' suppressed 'discussion-session' suppressed> Date: Tuesday, May 11, 1999 8:02 PM Subject: applying f.s. to 'group homes' The yearly stars can be considered, but would have to be careful as there are 200 people of which not all are sultable for everyone. Other than that, I believe it is very difficult, because even if you want to use the eight house, it can be pretty messy to organise. But of course if you can, you could help them, by grouping those in certain direction together. Practically of course, it is very difficult. This is my opinion, if any ot…

Geylang has one of the highest densities of Chinese Temples & clan / business associations in Singapore. Mosque and religious facilities are also abound here. The only thing is that local banks do not provide financing for homes and apartments in this district. You have to pay cash to purchase a home, here. This has to do with it’s shady side = a red light district. Geylang also is popular with lots of unique eateries. Phitos taken around Lorong 12 Geylang. Dear Kris, It is best that you superimpose the Eight House Template which is available at either: 1. Manual method: http://www.geomancy.net/fs/house1.htm (with detailed instructions on how to do a survey). 2. Computerised method: Free computerised Eight House at www.geomancy-online.com My advise is that you should try out the above to check your auspicious and inauspicious sectors. After doing so, see which location is closer to your best auspicious intangible force. If it is an inauspcious intangible force, and if the room is between two compass directions e.g. NE or N (as an example), it is best to sleep closer to the least bad influence i.e. NE = death or disaster line…
