Everything under the sun: Coffee-shop Talk

  1. Dear Tracy, A few traditional Feng Shui Masters have stated their views that there should not be any changes with respect for people living in the Southern Hemisphere. You can read this article written by Master Yu of astro-fengshui.com : http://www.astro-fengshui.com/south-h.htm I agree with his opinion that there should not be any changes made as the calendar system of finding a person's `true' element and overall strength of the element e.g. strong water, neutral water and weak water. For other viewpoints, you can read links from this page: http://www.geomancy.net/fs/addsites.com -----Original Message-----

  2. Hi, Based on the four symbolic animals concept, water should not be behind the house. But see the good news below:- There is one major principle of Sha Qi (bad ch'i) that is if it cannot be seen, no longer becomes a `threat'. In your case, your property is "exceptional" because it is huge. As mentioned above, if you cannot see the `threat' under Feng Shui principles, it no longer becomes sha qi in your case, it is further helped by the barn. In your case, I personally feel that there is no need to build a fence. The only point I like to bring to your attention is the short write-up I wrote on dangers of underground water. If you have the time, the url is : http://www.geom…

Dear Kieon First, let me congratulate you on your new home:) From your description, a square room is considered an excellent layout. In Feng Shui, yes, it is unfavourable to have a slanted ceiling as you have mentioned, this creates unfavourable qi in that area. There are few cures and only two are available:- 1. A `poster' bed with four pillars and for the `roof' of the poster bed, one can place a cloth material. This will act as a false ceiling. 2. False ceiling to level the roof. Frankly, the above are the two `best' cures for this situation. Other than the above, for the moment, I can't recall any other more effective `cures'. 3. If there is a beam above the slanted c…

  4. Edward Li Juming of Hongkong said the Hang Seng Index in 2008 will hit higher and higher points. He also said this year will see dreadful epidermics like Sars.He did notmention a word about the China blizzards at the beginning of 2008,or the Sichuan earthquake. He alsoproclaimed, like a demigod, that the love affair between Tony Leung and Carina Lau was not true, and that they would never marry. He also failed to predict the US financial crisis.......... All these were not insignificant events of 2008.Yet as a professional geomancer, and touted as an accurate auger,he did not manage to see these happening. Many other practitioners don't even dare to predict anything because …

Dear Eve, Placing a partition or a low cabinet within the house (inside the house) does not alter the original door facing direction. The purpose of this is to let qi meander gently into the house and it is for this purpose only. However, if one tilts the main entrance door to a specific direction, one then has changed the direction of the facing of the door. No, the South = inauspicious is considered a `text book' assessment for everyone. Unfortunately, this is too general unless one does a personalised Feng Shui assessment specific to their own house and their personal data. Otherwise, it is in my opinion too general to be used by everyone. In fact it is less `accurate'…

  7. Dear Sarah, Hope you can further describe `how level' is the house in relation to the surroundings? For example to the Chinese, an inverted `wok' (those found in the kitchen) is an ideal way to represent a good `site'. Your site should be where possible higher or level the surrounding land. Hope you can describe more in detail for me to fully comprehend and make `better' judgement. Perhaps, you can describe to me what you see on four sides of the site e.g. the back, the front, the right and the left. I hope this is not too much to ask but, I feel the more details the better... erh.. don't want to give wrong advice:) Warmest Regards, Cecil -----Original Message----- From: …

Hi, What you have done is already OK. If the apartment was occupied by someone who died of old age, there is usually really no concern. One fine day, everyone has to die of old age. Unless the death is due to other circumstances. If this is not the case, don't worry too much:) Send my regards to your relative:) Warmest Regards, Cecil -----Original Message----- From: Listmanager To: Recipients of 'discussion-session' suppressed 'discussion-session' suppressed> Date: Saturday, April 17, 1999 8:13 AM Subject: New Apartment needs cleansing

Normally, when things go very smoothly for people, things like Ba Zi, Fate, Karma or Feng Shui don't count. Only when things go really, really BAD do people start to delve deeply into these, only when it's TOO LATE to cure the problem. And in an act of sheer desperation, they will TRY and BUY anything just to get themselves out of their very deep troubles, without really first understanding WHAT they are getting into just to get themselves OUT of their miseries. Unfortunately, I was one of them.I have had more than enough of my share of problems for the past two years, which were so far the MOST problematic times of my life. So, after seeing and EXPERIENCING more trouble i…

Dear Lise, There are a few Feng Shui theories which allow you to find you something about your personal element. The two least accurate method are:- 1. Taking the year of birth (ie water dragon year to mean that you are a water dragon year). 2. Taking the Kua Element (ie. Kua 3 - Chen which is Wood). So in you case you conflict of the element is due to the above. Both are not a very theory to determine your element simply because it only takes into account the year of birth. The more accurate way is to use the Ba Zi Feng Shui which takes in account the day, month, year, and hour of birth, giving you the most accurate element. (ie. a wood person born in the year of a water…

Edited by Robert: Please make use of the many free tools on the website (ie ba zi, eight house, flying star) to assess your own individual ba zi/luck and your home. Each person and house is unique so unless you check up on element you are (you won't know what colour/career/house, direction is good or bad, house auspicious or not). So use the tools to check up what is good and bad for you. Then try to work to having more of favourable things and correcting all the unfavourable areas. This is best advice I can give you. Sir, I'm RukshanaHooda, New to ths group, & would like your advice regarding my health, & enhancement of career. Thank-U Date of birth is 9th j…

Dear Joe, Please read below:- -----Original Message----- From: Listmanager To: Recipients of 'discussion-session' suppressed 'discussion-session' suppressed> Date: Tuesday, May 11, 1999 8:02 PM Subject: applying f.s. to 'group homes' The yearly stars can be considered, but would have to be careful as there are 200 people of which not all are sultable for everyone. Other than that, I believe it is very difficult, because even if you want to use the eight house, it can be pretty messy to organise. But of course if you can, you could help them, by grouping those in certain direction together. Practically of course, it is very difficult. This is my opinion, if any ot…

I too encounter similar incident as Ang Jen. I've paid $950 for aconsultation sessionthat only lasted 15mins. And I'm given the 'Don't ask too much' look whenever I ask for an explanation. It's really not fair to pay so much to be asked to do thingsI don't know whyI need to. Anyway, with those changes made, things seem to get worse than getting better.

Singapore in the 1920's was quite advanced with a network of electric trams. The founder of Singapore: Sir Stamford Raffles - his statute was originally at this location then in 1920's. In the 1950's, his statute was shifted at Raffles Place, just a short distance away where now between the UOB-Standard Chartered Building.

  23. As I have said before, many bazi and fengshuilearnersjump on the bandwagon just to rake it in,and quickly too.Not only new practitioners, but the so-called experienced ones are, well, obsessed with money too. That's why they need to have fengshui "conventions",advertise full-page in the papers, etc,in order to raise their public profiles in the world. Paying close to S$300 just for a bazi reading? For that amount, you can get many good books on bazi and read up yourself,or read the postings on bazi forums. Am rather curious what "secrets"the "experts" will graciously "transmit" to the audienceat the coming Singapore fengshui"convention" at Suntec City.At last year's(2007) "c…

And it looks like it has been taken care of! And someone or a group of persons still pay their respects as flowers still line the tomb...
