Dear John, Generally, that would mean that your career is a Metal-Water type of career. If you are a strong Fire, that will be good for you. So since you a weak fire, you will need to enhance yourself with wood and fire. So for the direction of your store, since it is your personal suitability issue, if it is irritation, you cannot really change or fix it. It would be best, though that you get something which suits you rather than one which does not. In such cases, you would probably be better off if you can at least locate your cash register in the better sector of your shop and also try to work facing your good locations and avoid the bad locations. Alternatively, you c…

Dear Anon, Generally, death by natural causes will not be an issue. As the imprint is usually, momentary. You can cleanse the shop by throwing salt and rice into the various sectors of the shop. Is it best to choose an auspicious date for construction and later, move-in. ? Across Usually, this should not be an issue since, your side of the road is away from it. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Harriet, It is difficult for me to give you an honest opinion on the small pond based on current information. Firstly, Shapes and Forms has to be looked into. It would be disadvantages if this location happens to be the `tiger' side of the house. In such a situation, it symbolises a tiger's open (hungry) mouth. Under Flying Star Feng Shui, if a chart is drawn and if this location needs instead i.e. mountain star etc.. then it is again inauspicious. In other instances, if any of the above does not occur, it would seem ok to have the pond there. Usually, we are influenced by where we stay. Thus, if you have business or own part of it, your influence or wealth is relate…

Dear Anon, It is best if, you can attach a picture. As, it is important to see the general area of the shop and surrounding to this area. Usually, it is usually not advisable to have shops (unless, they are very exclusive e.g. branded) that gives an exquisite feel. Common people usually try to avoid steps leading to shops as it may feel `unwelcoming'. In such a situation, in my opinion, it does not matter if a "hump" can help. It may inadvertently cause someone to trip. Usually business of such establishments may not be striving given the `unwelcome' effect. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Wasis, Sorry for the delay, please see below:- It is like lawyers who argue their case. Sometimes, if the argue correctly for their defendant, they can win the case. Feel free to share with us, if you have any pointers especially if you think that they should belong otherwise:) Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Leanora, 1. In my opinion, this has more to do with your business: THIS IS NOT FENG SHUI: 1. Find out who are your potential target audience. If your target audience is more female than male, then perhaps, colours like pink or red. If it is for men, then colours like blue. 2. So far, there is no correct formula in using colours under `Feng Shui' or Ba Zi. So long as your site: 2.1 Loads up pretty fast. 2.2 Has all the relevant information and the question here is : What is there to distinguish your store from others. Or even stores that normally, the online surfer can easily purchase in their regular shopping mall or centre. Under Ba Zi:- For Geomancy.net, since Rob…

Dear Mr Chin, In my opinion, it is best to look at career change from a strategic point of view. first. Today, in Singapore, especially if a person is around 35 and close to 40 or more, it is quite risky to change job nowadays. Since, employers may prefer to hire younger workers. It is best to discuss this option with your immediate family members. Often, it is safer under this present bad economic downturn to `ren' or be extremely patient. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Carla, 1. Frankly, first and foremost, check your business model. Often, Feng Shui is not a cure all for many of our woes (or business problems). 2. Instead of concentrating on using material things to enhance or give us a psychological boost, it is time to sit down and re-look at your business model, first. 3. Please see below:- For a slanted ceiling, there is no much one can do here other than to see if one can move away from this location. Frankly, Feng Shui is not a cure all. Many of the items that you have referred to is felt to be that belonging to " Man or Human " Luck. For example, many of us would want to believe that our home has a `wealth corner'.…

Dear Wasis, 1. Thanks for posting a very interesting question:) 2. In the past, a butcher is a butcher; a merchant is a merchant; an accountant is an accountant. 3. You are correct to say that nowadays; every industry has it's specific specialisation. 4. For many of us, even say, we are an accountant, an accountant may peform various task - not necessarily accounting alone. 5. This term is commonly known as `multi-skilling'. Many years back, in country, many people who had joined American/European multinationals often do not practise multi-skilling as much as the Japanese firms. 6. Many Japanese firms practise multi-skilling early in their business. This is where an empl…

Dear Wasis, 1. In the past, prosperity was tied to physical accessibility. 2. In China, this is like following the `veins' which are the equivalent of the rivers that flow from the interior to the sea. 3. Usually, this water course is thus considered something like the `dragon veins' where activity most likely thrive. And thus people residing along or close to the river area (transportation in the form of cheaper - boat transport). 4. In America, trains are like the dragon vein, where, whenever, the train passes-by, counties thrive. 5. There are few clients who ask silly question. But, there was this rather, "china-born" client who asked me this question: Which part of th…

Dear Hendra, Yes, from the Ba Zi report under Ten Deities. Often, factors such as: 1. Determination 2. Competition 3. Earned wealth Looking at these and the other deities, can help to determine whether one can be a worker, or work for self. Other indications also concern the 10 year luck periods. If one's 10 year luck period also has indications of loss of wealth for specific years, then, for such a person, it is not favourable to venture into own business etc.. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, 1. Much of what you had mentioned relates more towards "Human or man " luck factors. 2. Normally, as a human being, when young we were exposed or taught to live in a shared `community'. Perhaps for those who are priviledged, or have few siblings may tend to an "independent" loner. 3. In fact, all of us are born to different families. And each of us have different traits. 4. For example, even the type of games one play can roughly categorise the person. 4.1 For example a typical "loner" characteristics:- Perhaps, this person would prefer to play games such as badminton / squash or tennis. Or perhaps, this person would prefer swimming. Than other group activity g…

Dear Anon, Frankly, you are not the only one that would be facing this `problem'. It is far better to have the desk face a door than facing away from the door. This often, is not advantages for the person working in this office: 1. cannot see who is coming in. 2. for some of us, may not feel comfortable with others looking in e.g. privacy issue if computer screen is in view of others. 3. symbolically inauspicious - seems like one is turning one's back against one's work etc... For example, it would be quite odd for those with a room to have their back facing the door. (Unless, this area is a computer room or other shared room). In most offices, one can easily place a low …

Dear Jimmy, I am afraid, your question is too general from a Feng Shui and Ba Zi perspective. Most likely, there is a leak somewhere. But it can be one or more issues e.g. relating to your home etc... If possible, if you are not able to personally pin-point them, perhaps, you may wish to consider getting Feng Shui help. Since you are in Malaysia, you can always consider, an on-site FS consultation, since, it is relatively easy to find one in your country. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Joan, 1. In general, one have to look at the core skills in a particular job. For example, if the secretary does lots of coordinations, then often this may involve wood element. 2. If the secretary is involved highly in PR or customer relations (internal or external customers), this area has to do with fire element. 3. The industry relates to Earth as especially since paper comes from trees and from the earth. However, a sub-category is the wood element since paper is literal wood. 4. In the past, a butcher is a butcher, and a merchant is an merchant. But nowadays, a butcher may use a computer etc. So multi-skilling in often involved in all jobs. So it is very diffi…

Dear John, This has more to do with one man's meat is another man's poison. This is because even if you want to apply numerology, there are so many different formulas / rulesets etc. In addition, to the Chinese, apply phonetic sound-like to say whether the number is good or bad. This is especially true for numbers like 4, 44. To some perhaps 59 is ok, for others the additional 0 doesn't seem to be good. Actually, what matters most is since you or your partners are really going into business. In terms of numbers, see if any of them are neutral or adverse to it. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee

Dear Anon, 1. In my opinion, you have correctly identified a situation where much of your problem lies with the "economics" of the location i.e. a new shopping centre - more likely with low pedestrian traffic. 2. Frankly, Feng Shui has limited scope in a retail business. This is because, there are far greater risks involved vs the idea that Feng Shui can help. 3. In fact, more practical, Singapore is such a small country and currently flooded with so many identical shops and there are now so many shopping malls. Therefore, unless one has a very strong staying power, cash burn - thru rental and staff salaries are indeed a real burden. Hello ? I as told by a Feng …

Dear Anon, If you are in control of the direction your working chair is facing, you can try to optimize your sitting position to the "Excellent" or "Prosperity" sector. You should first generate a free Eight House chart or use any of the tables or charts provided to determine your Gua (Kua) number. A sample illustration, is attached. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, In my opinion, seems like we are just entering into Period 8, and often, any changes or trying to fly into the new period, may be slow going for now, given that, Period 8 is just "climbing" or starting and Period 7 influence is just waning. More likely, the effects (trying to change to a new period) often may take sometime i.e. two or more years to be effective. Frankly, I do not have a good feel of the tree in-front of your shophouse and if N2 or bright hall is facing the tree, then, it would be good to consider W2 since, it will kill three birds with just one stone i.e. not facing the tree, facing a yang pedestrian traffic and under Period 8, double 8's. …

Dear Anon, Based on your description, in my opinion, the mouth of the business would usually seem to be the main doors rather than the side door. However, how does the side door "side looks like?" For example, for a business, does this side of the building have significantly more brighter "displays?" Be it a window display or neon lights etc?? As opposed to say the main entrance side? For a business, one can often consider the "brighter" lit side as the mouth of the business since this has both high yang and displays. For example: The industry for which beauty is in is often based on "chemicals". And if chemicals are used, then it could be the "Fire element".…

Dear J Seco, There are two points to consider, here:- 1. Introducing metal cures does not actually mean that our office furniture in particular, the one we use should be clad in metal or glass. 2. Commonsense approach Often, the best furnitures of wood are preferred simply because it has low conductivity of "cold". It is similar to the idea that for many Chinese, they prefer to use wood panels or parquet (wood) flooring in thebedrooms. This is because, floor tiles such as ceramic, marbel, terazzo, granite, homogenous titles etc are cold to the touch. Andwhen a person wakes up,it issaid that stepping onto a wooden floor panel is preferred as it is neithercold or hot.…
