Feng Shu for Business

  1. Started by myfs_97726,

Dear Anon, Frankly, you are not the only one that would be facing this `problem'. It is far better to have the desk face a door than facing away from the door. This often, is not advantages for the person working in this office: 1. cannot see who is coming in. 2. for some of us, may not feel comfortable with others looking in e.g. privacy issue if computer screen is in view of others. 3. symbolically inauspicious - seems like one is turning one's back against one's work etc... For example, it would be quite odd for those with a room to have their back facing the door. (Unless, this area is a computer room or other shared room). In most offices, one can easily place a low …

Dear Anon, 1. Pillars of Destiny is used to find out a person's element and it's strength. From here, one can thus design a suitable logo for one's site. 2. A logo is an important feature of any company. 3. Nothing beats a quality site on the web: be it a service support site, a resource centre site etc... 4. In my opinion, no one has yet made either a profit or a substantial profit on the web. For example, amazon.com has good turnover but has yet to make a profit. Similiarly, Yahoo.com etc.. have not made a yearly profit so far. More importantly, if one wants to have a web presence, do it for the love of it else one will be truly disappointed ... i.e. in quick returns. W…

Dear John, This has more to do with one man's meat is another man's poison. This is because even if you want to apply numerology, there are so many different formulas / rulesets etc. In addition, to the Chinese, apply phonetic sound-like to say whether the number is good or bad. This is especially true for numbers like 4, 44. To some perhaps 59 is ok, for others the additional 0 doesn't seem to be good. Actually, what matters most is since you or your partners are really going into business. In terms of numbers, see if any of them are neutral or adverse to it. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee

  4. Dear Master, Recently I bought a charcoal mount about 1 feet high and 16 inch diameter. Is it ok to place it beside/near the entrance of the restaurant which is facing NORTH? Thanks Lee

Dear J Seco, There are two points to consider, here:- 1. Introducing metal cures does not actually mean that our office furniture in particular, the one we use should be clad in metal or glass. 2. Commonsense approach Often, the best furnitures of wood are preferred simply because it has low conductivity of "cold". It is similar to the idea that for many Chinese, they prefer to use wood panels or parquet (wood) flooring in thebedrooms. This is because, floor tiles such as ceramic, marbel, terazzo, granite, homogenous titles etc are cold to the touch. Andwhen a person wakes up,it issaid that stepping onto a wooden floor panel is preferred as it is neithercold or hot.…

Dear Jennifer, 1. Yes, I understand what you mean. As this concept of a cube saves space but lacks privacy for the four parties. 2. I believe, it will take sometime for you to get used to this concept. In my country, even large companies that has space constraints use the 5 feet by 5 feet work top, in your `cubicle' formation. 3. The only advise, here is not to place a rectangle or square table in the centre of this cube such that there are 4 pointer corners aimed at the back of each person. A circle table is still acceptable. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Sherri, 1. In Feng Shui, it is not so much of trying to find a balance i.e. bring the 5 elements into balance but rather to look at the `root' of a business i.e. to make money. 2. Thus, if one notice carefully, Feng Shui audits for a business is to do with enhancing the location e.g. a restaurant, a shop front to increase business. 3. Therefore, it is not so much of what you produce and try to balance it but to induce sales. 4. Many companies, would then try to consult a FS practitioner to look for a good location for placement of the CEO's table and general office layout, the reception area (the main entrance) and a look at the Marketing and Sales department. Warmes…

Dear Anon, In my opinion, seems like we are just entering into Period 8, and often, any changes or trying to fly into the new period, may be slow going for now, given that, Period 8 is just "climbing" or starting and Period 7 influence is just waning. More likely, the effects (trying to change to a new period) often may take sometime i.e. two or more years to be effective. Frankly, I do not have a good feel of the tree in-front of your shophouse and if N2 or bright hall is facing the tree, then, it would be good to consider W2 since, it will kill three birds with just one stone i.e. not facing the tree, facing a yang pedestrian traffic and under Period 8, double 8's. …

Dear Jimmy, I am afraid, your question is too general from a Feng Shui and Ba Zi perspective. Most likely, there is a leak somewhere. But it can be one or more issues e.g. relating to your home etc... If possible, if you are not able to personally pin-point them, perhaps, you may wish to consider getting Feng Shui help. Since you are in Malaysia, you can always consider, an on-site FS consultation, since, it is relatively easy to find one in your country. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Tracey, I am sorry, it is difficult for us to help you based on what you tell us. What I can suggest is for you to make use of the tools available on the site to help you make the proper accessment. Such as use the Eight House to find which is a good sector for you to face when you work. Use the free pillars to at least determine what element you belong to so that you know what kind of elements, colours can you use to enhance yourself. If you like to enhance home office, the Flying Star report can be used to analyse your home to determine which are the problem or unbalanced a sectors. If you can improve the above, it should help you. However, it is difficult for us …

Dear Wasis, 1. Thanks for posting a very interesting question:) 2. In the past, a butcher is a butcher; a merchant is a merchant; an accountant is an accountant. 3. You are correct to say that nowadays; every industry has it's specific specialisation. 4. For many of us, even say, we are an accountant, an accountant may peform various task - not necessarily accounting alone. 5. This term is commonly known as `multi-skilling'. Many years back, in country, many people who had joined American/European multinationals often do not practise multi-skilling as much as the Japanese firms. 6. Many Japanese firms practise multi-skilling early in their business. This is where an empl…

Dear John, Generally, that would mean that your career is a Metal-Water type of career. If you are a strong Fire, that will be good for you. So since you a weak fire, you will need to enhance yourself with wood and fire. So for the direction of your store, since it is your personal suitability issue, if it is irritation, you cannot really change or fix it. It would be best, though that you get something which suits you rather than one which does not. In such cases, you would probably be better off if you can at least locate your cash register in the better sector of your shop and also try to work facing your good locations and avoid the bad locations. Alternatively, you c…

Dear Anon, Generally, death by natural causes will not be an issue. As the imprint is usually, momentary. You can cleanse the shop by throwing salt and rice into the various sectors of the shop. Is it best to choose an auspicious date for construction and later, move-in. ? Across Usually, this should not be an issue since, your side of the road is away from it. Warmest Regards, Cecil

  15. Started by myfs_86679,

Dear Anon, It is best if, you can attach a picture. As, it is important to see the general area of the shop and surrounding to this area. Usually, it is usually not advisable to have shops (unless, they are very exclusive e.g. branded) that gives an exquisite feel. Common people usually try to avoid steps leading to shops as it may feel `unwelcoming'. In such a situation, in my opinion, it does not matter if a "hump" can help. It may inadvertently cause someone to trip. Usually business of such establishments may not be striving given the `unwelcome' effect. Warmest Regards, Cecil

  16. Started by elena,

Dear Elena, In my opinion, without doing proper FS audit first, the common water positions are: 1. Usually, at the front entrance of the office or areas where there is clear space. The frontage of the office is a good location as this is where people walk in and out. 2. It is not ideal to place it on a worktop as it can be quite distracting. Best is that it can liven a unused corner. 3. Avoid placing it at the centre location of the office. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Question "Hi , good morning. Just wondering if you can help to choose names for business? Look forward to your reply." Reply: 1. There is no precedence for an English name. Furthermore, have to do a search if a company has already used this name or not. 2. Generally, most tend to choose a generic name eg. ABC Food Industries or an auspicious name like Sunshine ... 3. If one still wants a Chinese company name; then; this is feasible still. And/or hang a company sign..

My reason for these colors is that fire produces earth, which produces metal, which is burnt by fire to create wealth. Is my reasoning correct? Please advice. This sounds about right. 22. Dear Joan, Since the office is quite small: 1. It is good for one side of the table to be flushed against a `solid support' i.e. lean against a wall. 2. The back of the chair should preferably be against a back wall. 3. The table should not be on the same side of the door. But if it is, is should be at a side facing the door. 4. The door to the room should face inwards. 5. Where possible, the door should not open into --> facing the table. The table should be at the diagonal side (if possible). Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, If you are in control of the direction your working chair is facing, you can try to optimize your sitting position to the "Excellent" or "Prosperity" sector. You should first generate a free Eight House chart or use any of the tables or charts provided to determine your Gua (Kua) number. A sample illustration, is attached. Warmest Regards, Cecil
