Dear Anon, It is best if, you can attach a picture. As, it is important to see the general area of the shop and surrounding to this area. Usually, it is usually not advisable to have shops (unless, they are very exclusive e.g. branded) that gives an exquisite feel. Common people usually try to avoid steps leading to shops as it may feel `unwelcoming'. In such a situation, in my opinion, it does not matter if a "hump" can help. It may inadvertently cause someone to trip. Usually business of such establishments may not be striving given the `unwelcome' effect. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Caroline, Thanks for your brief information. 1. It would be best not to rely on "fixed" theories e.g. the Eight Aspirations or Associations. The reason is that it is too general to be applied to anyone or their home. Unlike the Eight House Theory, the Eight Aspirations does not even consider one's Year of birth or personalised it to a person or their home. 2. In your case, you may want to consider any of the following theories: a. Shapes and Form in relation to the exterior of your home and the interior. For the exterior, make sure that there are no sharp corners of neighouring houses pointed towards the main entrance or the windows etc.. For the interior, make sur…

Dear Adeline, adeline tan wrote: Hi, I am also strong yang metal. Am currently working in a finance related job in the civil service and doing quite well. Wld I be more successful in my career if I switch to a more "wood" related type of job? thks! In general, you need to consider the overall factors. A strong metal will generally mean Water, Wood, Fire are generally your more favourable elements. So in that respect of course a Wood element related career would be better. However, in terms of career, you also need to have the proper qualification or skills in order to suceed. So it does not meant that the element favourable you to means it will bring you the best succe…

Dear Marilyn, marilyn o wrote: but does that mean we wont handle it well? because we have no choice but to inherit the business. Im a weak water, will it help if i also work in their family business? I won't really know exactly until a detailed ba zi is done for your husband. I mean I am basing my advise on information you are provided. ie your husband is a Strong Water. Which means that Favourable elements are Wood, Fire, Earth. While unfavourable elements are Metal and Water. So if based on the above, yes it is not likely that he will benefit from this kind of business. However, there are other factors that will need be considered to be able to know for sure. For ex…

Dear Keat, There are two issues in your question:- 1. The Eight House Theory and what is the definition of `facing' a good direction. 2. What is known as the Sitting and Facing direction. A. The Eight House Theory The general consensus amongst most Feng Shui practioners is the definition: - Sleep with the head facing the good direction. - Sit facing a good direction. There are few practioners who have an opposite view. As I mentioned here, each of us should come to our own decisions and follow whichever accordingly. In my personal opinion, I would `stick' with the above i.e. sleep with the head facing a good direction and sit facing a good direction. B. The Sitting and Fa…

Dear Elena, In my opinion, without doing proper FS audit first, the common water positions are: 1. Usually, at the front entrance of the office or areas where there is clear space. The frontage of the office is a good location as this is where people walk in and out. 2. It is not ideal to place it on a worktop as it can be quite distracting. Best is that it can liven a unused corner. 3. Avoid placing it at the centre location of the office. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Roxanne, 1. Thanks for sharing with us information about yourself. 2. Since, the store has always been there and if you have already choosen a house, my advise is that, you can at your own pace, `incorporate' Feng Shui into `your life'. 3. I am not familiar with any Feng Shui practitioners within Chicago. Perhaps you have to check around and the best is to hear from friends or word of mouth. 4. Since you have been always kind with your grandmother, I am sure, you will always be blessed and carry on with her work. 5. In several of the postings, you can always move in and later `catch' up on Feng Shui as it will go not `go away'. Frankly, many people, have not even he…

Dear [hidden], All units in various buildings is governed by the bell curve. Thus there are always the good, the bad and ugly in each building. More importantly, also go with one’s feeling.

The Bridge Retail @ Cambodia in Phnom Penh The Bridge Retail @ Cambodia jointly developed by a Singapore company spots a typical safe rectangular design. The development is based on rectangular lines thus representing the earth element. One of the most stable forms of design. The building is similar to that of many other designs found along Jurong East Central eg. JEM or Westgate. In a recent article, I wrote about Hotel Royal which was built in the 1970’s. The frontage shares some resemblance of it. Even if that builiowas already close to 40 plus years:

The Commerze is like an office cum warehouse. But at level 2; the arrangement is quite "unusual" or rarely seen. Here, it is visible accessible from the frontage with two sets of escalators: one going up and the other going downwards. To bring people up to the entire level 2 - floor. Here, when one enters the glass swing door; there is a long winding passageway - at the front towards the other side of the building with the toilets and lifts. What is unusual is the pretty narrow passageway - not that friendly to more than two persons walking side-by side or someone trying to pass each other. Perhaps, all the units frontage are in glass, perhaps to make the crammed area les…

The store continues to thrive, even with a prominent column positioned right in the middle of its storefront. The owner or tenant has strategically placed a ba gua mirror directly across from the column, utilizing the external pillar to showcase merchandise. This clever tactic serves as a unique selling point, drawing in customers and enhancing the overall feng shui of the space. It is a smart move that sets this shop apart from others in the area

Dear Wasis, 1. In the past, prosperity was tied to physical accessibility. 2. In China, this is like following the `veins' which are the equivalent of the rivers that flow from the interior to the sea. 3. Usually, this water course is thus considered something like the `dragon veins' where activity most likely thrive. And thus people residing along or close to the river area (transportation in the form of cheaper - boat transport). 4. In America, trains are like the dragon vein, where, whenever, the train passes-by, counties thrive. 5. There are few clients who ask silly question. But, there was this rather, "china-born" client who asked me this question: Which part of th…

It is a common misconception that a prominent storefront is essential for achieving success. However, if the layout of the escalator remains unchanged, particularly with the downward escalator positioned on the left side as indicated in the image, it could negatively impact the Feng Shui of the shop and result in a decline in business.

Dear Luna, There are two issues to be looked at here: 1. How auspicious is the office? 2. How auspicious is it for the individual? In an office environment, more importantly, the office should be located in an auspicious place and internally, it should be well `harmonised' and the sitting positions and placement of tables, chairs etc.. has to be looked at closely. Equally important are the placement of offices for Top management e.g. the CEO's desk. 2. The above are important elements for the company. For the toilet at SE, preferably it should not be facing the main entrance door of the office. It is best to be located further away at one `corner' of the office. As for yo…

1. Honestly, mastering Feng Shui can pose a significant challenge for those new to the practice or inexperienced in its principles. 2. Traditional Feng Shui encompasses both external and internal elements of a home or building, requiring the use of the compass school of Feng Shui - Flying Star to analyze and interpret the space effectively. 3. Therefore, the size of your desk is of lesser importance compared to the concepts discussed in the previous paragraph. 4. In Flying Star Feng Shui, a knowledgeable individual must create an accurate Flying Star chart, which may reveal specific numbers and combinations indicating potential issues or concerns within a p…

Dear Leanora, 1. In my opinion, this has more to do with your business: THIS IS NOT FENG SHUI: 1. Find out who are your potential target audience. If your target audience is more female than male, then perhaps, colours like pink or red. If it is for men, then colours like blue. 2. So far, there is no correct formula in using colours under `Feng Shui' or Ba Zi. So long as your site: 2.1 Loads up pretty fast. 2.2 Has all the relevant information and the question here is : What is there to distinguish your store from others. Or even stores that normally, the online surfer can easily purchase in their regular shopping mall or centre. Under Ba Zi:- For Geomancy.net, since Rob…

Hi Cecil Kelvin here. It's been some time, how have you been? Well just a little question about the idea of starting a business for a friend who is weak water element and who is thinking of starting a delivery/courier business. You know, deliverying letters/parcels/packages for companies and individuals as an express service during the day. I am certain that since he will be in a van most of the time doing this, the metal of the van will enhance his own weak water element. However I am concerned about the element of this business : whether it is good for him. May I know which element is this kind ofbusiness? Many thanks and best regards kelvin
