The attached window design feature: Casement windows encased by a distinct rectangular `protruding' enclosed brick shape sloping design was popular in the early 1970's. Many semi-detached and bungalow homes both in Singapore and Malaysia feature such an iconic design. Slowly as many owners redesign or do A&A works, such designs are disappearing gradually. As often, such homes are considered relatively "new" i.e. 30 to 40 years old and not worth conserving, yet. From a Feng Shui point of view, it is a stable design as rectangle represents the earth element. While circle designs during that era (1970's are rare and least desirable for large window openings). Often, th…

Auditing nearby Cambridge Road. Stop over at Pek Kio. Pek Kio Etymology 1. Pek Kio, or "white bridge" in Hokkient, refers to the quaint neighbourhood enclosed by Moulmein Road, Balestier Road, Race Course Road, Kampong Java Road and Thomson Road. 2. One of the earliest references to Pek Kio was a newspaper article published on the Singapore Standard on 2 October 1953. 3. In the newspaper article, it was reported that the tenants of the Singapore Improvement Trust (SIT) flats had formed an interim committee to establish a community centre called Pek Kio Owen Estates Community Centre. 4. Early Pek Kio residents named the residential enclave …

    1. Although all the table tops comes from the "earth" itself; colours does play a significant part in identifying which of the five elements the table-top materials (and colours) are made-off. 2. Distinct colours like:- Green = wood element Red = fire element Violet (purple) = fire element Water = blue or black 3. Some other colours are harder to differentiate. Some colours show up differently under lighting; lightining tones : cool day light; warm lights. 4. Colours especially brown or brownish (wood element)is often associated with tones of yellow or cream colour (earth element). There is really no right or wrong answers, here. 5. If one has one's own garden, it is advisable not to anyhow place unknown scultures such as those in some of the pictures taken in the Imperial garden. This is because; under symbolism in Feng Shui, we try to avoid any objects that may look like "hungry mouths" or monster looking figurines.... these are considered inauspicous especially if their mouths are aimed towards one's home.

Again, this is pure commonsense that if we can avoid; try to avoid staying near to petrol stations. Where possible, since this new estate: Compassvale Beacon does not have any units on the ground level; try to avoid staying on the second or even third level; as a safety precaution against vapour or fumes from the daily pumping of petrol / diesel and the storage and filling up by petrol tanks..

  15. Aloe Vera originates from North Africa. And some even call it "The Mother of all Miracle Plants!" Aloe vera is very popular as it is called the Elastoplast or a First Aid buddy. Thus it is used if one has cuts or even insect bites or even as a sun-block (sun-screen). It is also popularly used in skin care, shampoos and even as a refreshing drink that holds chunks of aloe vera. In ancient times, in Egypt, it is one of the ingredients or items used for embalming! Do be careful, if you walk along Kovan Road... as the owner of the home has planted a whole garden full of Aloe Vera plants both in his garden as well as this field of five-foot-way grass verge!

  17. This picture shows circular steps radiating outwards to ward of poision arrows or sha. This is similar to the Ming Tang or a circular pool of water outside a building radiating outwards. Similarly, one can cut a piece of carpet to be placed at the Main Entrance door to ward of a poision arrow. Warmest Regards Cecil
