DId you see a cable (Power supply?) leading into a horizontal rectangular box or module directly behind the circular "mystery THING?"

  2. Started by Cecil Lee,

This figurine shows a dragon on green jade pearl on an ingot. It is suppose to be symbolic of `wealth collection'. More commonly, since many want to be convinced that there is a wealth corner; a Feng Shui practitioner may most likely `identify' a site. And perhaps, the customer, get hold of one of such `wealth retention or collection items. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Two more pictures: 1. A really close-up picture showing clearly the candle-holders on each side and the joss-stick holder. 2. Please note that candles used are also red in colour. Chinese do not use white candle sticks on these altars. White signify `death'. (Although it does signify purity... but has such a meaning in this situation.

Photos of Sky at Eleven. Photos taken from The Arte @ Thomson. Some ponder over buying a unit at Sky @ Eleven for the sole reason that the road leading to the condo is an old folks home. Literally, I know of an overseas businessman who bought a unit there and then decided to live in another luxury condo development. As his reason is because of the old folks home.

  6. These two pictures have both children and fire-crackers: 1. Picture 1: Showing children playing happily with fire-crackers. Fire-crackers is said to drive away evil / bad luck for the coming year. 2. Picture 2: Shows lot of fire-crackers around a vase. The vase has a picture of children playing with fire-crackers. These two symbols are occassions of Chinese Lunar New Year.

In this paranomic photo, you can see, at a distance, a profile of some of the towers of Suntec City, Singapore. This mega Shopping centre, office space and exhibition/convention hall uses, a smooth skin of reflective tinted glass covering it's skin. Considered as a defensive `posture'. To find out more about past postings of pictures of Suntec City, try to do a SEARCH for it under this forum.

Re-visting The Linear Condo I first visited this development when it first T.O.P. in 2006. (Freehold 999years). Today.. it should be around 7xx plus years. But still aplenty! The roof profile is a striking similarity to Marina Bay Sands! Or rather: If Marina Sands is a large luxury cruiser; this one is much like a private yacht. Flying Star Feng Shui puts this development as Period 8 either E1 (morning sun) or W1 (afternoon sun + expect traffic noise along this stretch of road).

Dear All, The better fountains are those with symbolic circular bowls or rings. As circle represents metal element. And under the productive cycle of the five elements: Metal supports Water element. However, it is best for a fountain to have all five elements:- 1. Circle (representing Metal element) 2. Water (actual water itself) 3. Wood (place a plant near to or inside the water) 4. Earth (the actual fountain is made of stone / ceramic: which represents the earth element). 5. Fire (use an under water light or if indoor, can also use a spot-light that focus inwards. The light should be turned on using an automatic timer. 6. For example: in my case, I turn it on from say …

Cicada is considered auspicious because it symbolises happiness and eternal youth. A Cicada emerges from the ground after it pupates for four years. Sometimes it is seen emerging from the burial grounds. Here, the Chinese see it as immortality. This is the reason why some Chinese place a Jade cicada in the mouth of the dead before the burial. The cicada is often seen in Chinese paintings.

  16. Note: This page contains 4 pictures. Size between 35k to 53k each. Please be patient ... wait for the pictures to be loaded. Today, it is quite common to see `artificial' tubes containing water. The base of these tubes produce bubbles and lighted up usually with blue light. As most of the water is enclosed, only a small surface i.e. the top of the tubes are in contact with air. One has to suspect whether, beneficial Qi flows better or less under this tube. Contrast this to more traditional concepts like a water wall or a fountain. Some homes are begining to use the smaller versions of it. Perhaps, could the lighting in the water tube or the bubbles create benefical Qi eve…

  17. By how, after having seen the earlier wedding photos under this forum, I believe it is not difficult for you to recognise the double happiness symbol. This photograph is the wedding photograph of my grandfather and grandmother. My grandmother is now over 90 years old and staying with my auntie (my father's only sister in Brisbane, Australia). In Chinese weddings, you will also notice that flowers are abundant like any other weddings around the world. A second wedding photo (undated) is another (unidentifid wedding couple. One interesting thing to note is the carpet they are standing on. At the centre of the picture: It looks like two peacocks facing each other. Warmest Re…

  18. 1. A few days ago, I visited a new housing development and was found many of the housing units with the toilet at the centre of the house. 2. Although the shape of the house is considered `good' i.e. rectangle/squarish in shape, but a toilet at the centre of the house implies that finances are drained. 3. Generally if one is buying a new house, try to avoid a layout plan with the toilet in the centre. As this is considered a major "leak" (wealth and health). 4. Fortunately, often it takes three or more major leaks to cause problems especially to the breadwinner and the household. 5. In additional, hopefully the Flying Star Feng Shui of the unit is equa…

Architects should always remember this "Even if you don't stay there, think of the potential family that would be staying there!" On 19 Mar 2016, at 2:05 AM, M____ L_____ wrote an e-mail:- Hi Cecil, ... I should have read your analysis or column long ago or before purchase Skies Miltonia. Before purchase, there isn't any direction given on the block __ and it seems face north but not west. However; after collecting key, I realized that my bed room face (head direction) the west sun, and it's extreme hot , so as kitchen. In such a case, how to change the fengshui ? What can I do? Saw this, the other day at Prive @ Punggol. This is another consideration if one is considering purchasing a ground floor unit with an open PES area. It is common for cigarette butts and other items to be thrown down. On occasions even little ones from upper floors unintentionally throw down their toys or even AAA sized batteries..

  22. Note: 1. I sincerely apologise that the pictures are taken by a non-professional photographer (Cecil) using a simple Sony DSC-F1 camera. The only advantage is that this camera I bought a few years back is small and handy. Best of all I use the "infra-red" to sent to my PC. Sometimes I may take pictures in the evening as in this case. Thanks for your understanding:) 2. It is never my intention to promote the use of figurines. These figurines as I mentioned are quite commonly found in some Chinese homes. 3. It is for purpose of " education " only especially for non-Chinese to understand more about Chinese beliefs and legends. Some of these figures appear in Chinese…

To ward of bad luck, this is an inauspicious month for marriage, moving house, travelling etc... I took a few pictures of a group of taxi drivers celebrating the Chinese 7th month Hungry Ghost Festival. In 1999, the 7th month started on 11 August and ends on 9th September 1999
