Site plans, Floor plans and Photographs

  1. 1. This picture shows the frontage of a Chinese rest house cum restaurant or shall we call it a motel, in Singapore in the 1940's. 2. It is interesting to see my father, on the right and a family member in the clothing of that period. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Vince, 1. Attached, please find a graphic illustration of the " rectangular " court-yard + the Chinese (mandarin) character for tree. 2. The two combined is called " KUN " or trapped or imprisoned. 3. This is another aspect of Symbolism in Feng Shui. 4. However, so long as you do not place any tree especially a single tree / plant at the this centrepoint, it is still acceptable. Warmest Regards, Cecil Lee

  11. The Fortredale which was newer than many of the developments had enbloc and sold has sold for around $65 million. Thank God for it. As for liveability; it each unit looks more like a fish aquarium when one walks past it during both day and night! However, somehow, in it's place The Line, even with it's enticing lucky draw of a BMW 3 series vehicle ... seems in my opinion to suffer from poor sales... (where each unit is sold roughly at 2,xxx per sq feet.

To our young Singaporeans; all BTO's are often a heavy "expense" or burden. Some young couples would say "Not cheap".... and nowadays you can't even pay back the 99 year lease within 5 years! Yet alone... 15 years or more...

The oldest public housing development is located along Tiong Bahru area. The old airport road area type of public housing is considered second to the abovedevelopment. Fortunately, these quaint 1960's type of public housing has not being demolised along Dakota Crescent. These are "retained" for now... Because of it's close proximity to Singapore's first ever airport located near-by (currently People's Association along Nicol Highway; these flats are always up to a certain resticted height. Since the airport had moved to Paya Lebar and now to Changi airpot; newer development across the street e.g. Jalan empat etc... are high rise development. Not limited by the height rest…

  22. HDB Compassvale Mast & internal dry walls I was wondering how long will HDB follow suit in using dry walls for the interior partitions. That was in 2011 when the Livia condo just TOP. I walked into the unit and knocked on all the interior walls. These walls were all dry walls. And for this development another surprise... the toilet interior walls were also non-concrete walls. Just last year, a client sold his nearby CDL unit in the same development and opted for an older condo that had interior solid walls. This client says he just hated a home with such dry walls. He felt that we are already payinga premium for a home, here in Singapore. …
