Based on pure common sense: "It is no point crying over spilled milk". Equally, no point banging one's head against the wall. Common sense says: The Concept of Maximizing Marks If it is there, what measure or measures are you talking about? You want a miracle to happen is it? Common sense, says, try toimprove in other areas.

Dear Judy, Please see below:- 1. Yes, you have brought up a very interesting question. 2. First of all, Chinese do place importance in phonetic sounds. For example, several years back when China opened up its economy, I believe, there was this Coca Cola advertisement where the interpretation of the words `Coca Cola' was interepreted to mean an inauspicious name. 3. Subsequently, Coca Cola, revised this ad. 4. Chinese language is quite `complex' and a pronunciation can provide as much as say 4 different meanings to a character alone. 5. For the Chinese, usually, there is no issue once an auspicious sounding name has been chosen. 6. In the past where there was no stand…

Dear Jack, In my opinion, it is advisable to check the `new' birth chart of a house to find out if it is better or ... worse off in changing the `direction' of the door. Usually, the birth chart based on Flying Star of the existing door direction is looked at (compared to) in relation with the new door direction. Here, one looks at all sectors and check the significance of each sector by looking at: 1. The 81 combinations i.e. comparing the Mountain # with the Water # and the resulting interpretation. 2. The `cures' required. If the original chart needs few `cures' at various sectors. But the new birth chart has lots of `cures'. In such a situation, the former chart is `…

1. These are some of the considerations:- 1.1. If one is a salaried worker and not involved in the planning or future planning of office sitting arrangement. There is relatively nothing much one can do, here. 1.2. If oen is a sole proprietor of the business; would normally or may have good earth luck by renting or owning a good premise(s) and a good sector (even if the facing direction) is not favourable. 2. Frankly, for the Eight House concept: it is nice-to-have working in a good sector (especially Flying star sector)and even equallynice-to-have seating facing a good direction. 3. The Eight House concept offers: no cure: It is eitheror not and no if's or but's. For …

Dear Lisa, 1. Using Flying Star and other forms of Feng Shui is basically to enhance our earth luck i.e. the luck of our home. 2. There are many other forms of `luck' such as: 2.1 Personal Luck 2.2 Luck derived from our `Heaven luck' or Pillars of Destiny. 2.3 Earth Luck thru understanding and usage of Feng Shui i.e. earth luck of the home. In order for us to be lucky or increase our luck, the above `luck factors' are taken into consideration. 2.2 is the other `method' of trying to increase our `Heaven luck'. The main idea is to increase all our luck factors and this would give us a chance to get things `done' smoothly. 3. The other factor is knowing our element and stren…

Dear Anon, In my opinion, there is really nothing magical about a wish box. It is similar to someone keeping a good luck charm. Since this does not fall into the category of Feng Shui or divinity, I am unable to answer your question. However, I do not really see any harm in keeping or treasuring it. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, 1. Practical or applied Feng Shui does not come about like what you had mentioned. 2. Recently, I got calls from potential clients worried about how their new condo could be turned topsy turvy with Feng Shui. 3. One potential client mentioned that, there were so worried to engage the same Feng Shui practitioner as their relative. This was because, the Feng Shui practitioner asked them to tear down the newly built wardrope and kitchen cabinets. Of a new condo. 4. These are similar concerns echoed by at least 3 more callers that I had received. Hmm... in my opinion, doing so is indeed a waste of money. And quite a desperate move. Which is never fruitful. On the c…

Hello, I am trying to decide between two apartments, A or B... Both are 2-story loft apartments built in 1985. I've tried to understand the info you have provided but am not sure which unit has "better" feng shui. I would greatly appreciate your assist! => A is 500 sq ft with it's own entrance (townhouse style), no one above or below but does share the SE wall with neighbors. There is a wooden staircase with 13 steps and back risers that shares a landing with the front door, but the front door is perpendicular to the stairs and there is a smaller entry 'mudroom' on an angle (the stairs do not face directly to doorway). All is made from wood, hardwood flooring…

Dear Anon, Please see below:- For the Chinese, it is preferable that the ceiling fan where possible is not black. White or gold is fine. Do you find it uncomfortable? If so, you may like to change it. Purple represents the Fire element and it would normally depend on your Ba Zi. For a room, unless one has a need for the `Fire element' e.g. if a person is a weak wood person and staying in the room, can use the `Fire' element to help his/her weak wood to grow. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, There is a logical reason why anything higher than a side table is not advisable. This is because if you look at the shelf at the side, the scorner closer to the bed will form a poison arrow which cuts into the bed. Since both side cuts into the bed, it is like an X. Which is bad feng shui. So not recommended. Even if you replaced it with a table, the same effect will be created unless you ensure that where you sit the poison arrow will not cut you. And/or at least if the corners are rounded, then not as bad. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research

1. In general, many people perceive a temple as a "depository". For example, it can be a depository of hope i.e. people go into the temple to pray or seek help from the gods... Agnes C. wrote: Dear Master, myhouse is located beside the temple then someone commented that my house fengshui is not good.....pls.master advise me 2. 1. If the bedroom is occupied by husband and wife, http://wiki.geomancy.net/wiki/Master_Bedroom:_Which_side_must_I_sleep_on In the above link, for example, the Master Bedroom is located in the South-West sector of the home. Under the Eight House concept, SW is suitable to the Mrs (her longevity) sector. While SW to : Mr is his death sector. If the master bed is placed as shown in the illustration; Mr should sleep closer to the master bedroom door, while Mrs, sleep closer to the "toilet" area. 2. Here in this example, therefore:the master bedroom is located at South-West (SW) compass direction. If the bed-head is placed in this position, MRS should sleep closer to th…

Dear Jeanette, Yes, it is preferred that a water feature does not face the main entrance. This is because, this is symbolic of wealth flowing out of the home. If you intend to install a granite wall feature, try to avoid a highly polished granite or marble wall. Since if it is reflective, it is like a mirror. Where under Feng Shui, a mirror facing a main door is not favourable since, it is considered as even before 'wealth" or qi comes into the home, it is deflected out of the home. (Under commonsense approach to Feng Shui, a highly polished granite wall -- is not favourable. Since, once we enter the home, we may --inadvertenly (while in deep thoughts) see an "image"…

Dear Lindsey, To test whether the power pole is a threat, stand at your main door or the window. And look out of it. If the power pole is tangent to or seem to slice thru the main entrance door or a window, then this is a threat. Else if one can still see the power pole but it does not seem to slice thru the main door (directly) then there is no threat. I.e. the power pole must be seemed to be slicing thru the main door or window. If the power pole is diagonal then there is no threat at all. For the property line, if you have a fence or a bush, then this would be better. Warmest Regards, Cecil P.S. graphic illustration of " No threat zone "

Dear Rich, Please see below:- ----- Original Message ----- From: "pillars-of-destiny Listmanager" To: Sent: Tuesday, August 22, 2000 7:21 AM Subject: Bed placement and opposing doors and windows The concept here is to get Qi to meander slowly circulating into the room. The most effective method is as you mentioned is to use a screen closer to the door area so that Qi that comes in thru the main entrance can slowly meander into the house. - Usually this is the best method. The screen in such a situation need not be full height but it should at least cover 3 quarters of the door (height). There are other alternatives like closing this side of the window so that Qi do…

1. In my opinion, it is always good to do some research rather than depend frequently on "spoon feeding" info as a frequent forum user. 2. For example, the bigger picture includes the concept of "sum of ten", "pearl string". Which is part of some of these SW1 or NE1 flying star combinations. And the concept that there is no such thing as a perfect home in every way. 3. If you have gone thru some of my past messages, I have also warned of ill but correctable health e.g. for NE or SW homes.
