Dear Anon, Usually, the "sunken" part or the lower level can be the living room. Quite often, many houses have `split-levels where there are steps leading up to the dining room. Here, it is acceptable for the living room to be at the lower level. Usually, this lower level is level to the house exterior or slightly raised up. Warmest Regards, Cecil

  2. Dear Sushma, 1. In Singapore, often, I have only seen the lower income to `lower middle' income buy such objects. Rarely if any; do I see the mid-middle income to higher-middle income to the rich buy such things. This would `give' a clue as to it's usefulness. 2. Sometimes, it is not advisable to bring in any type of `figurines' into the home. There are often many situations where, (if in an occasion that) we bring in the `wrong things' than this can be detrimental. 3. Perhaps, try to SEARCH for " tomb " or " Japanese " where I had written an actual case of `inviting' the wrong spirits home. 4. I am not saying that your figurine has anything to do with or remotely to do w…

This is under the category of "symbolism" in Feng Shui. And nice-not to have the WC sharing the same wall as the stove. In many of the write-ups of uncompleted condo units: I have also noticed and highlighted that it is "nice-not-to" have the wc sharing the same wall as the stove especially if they are directly next-wall to each other.

Dear Cecil, Thanks for your reply! However, based on my question 3 on the master bedroom, I have a further question about it. As shown in my previous diagram, since there are 2 hdb flats by the side of the pedestrian walkway, do the corners of the 2 hdb flats constitued sha-qi aimed at our master bedroom? What can we do if it is? Thanks alot! - Amy

  6. Hi, This is an interesting question. I guess this is not based on Feng Shui but as you have mentioned many single portaits do use women as they are more `graceful' and since most of these vases are delicate, a portait of a women would be nice. The above is not my believes but a comment on your statement based on quite alot of vases and even hand painted plates I also own. I for one do not want to be labelled a Male C. Pig. However, I do have large vases at home that do have male figurines e.g. the legend of the Eight Immortals where pictures were drawn on the vase with them crossing the sea. These Eight Immortals have both a mix of male and female figurines. So, it may n…

Further to those who are new to this forum:- In the past, I have posted the following information: 1. Use the 5 elements concept (Ref: http://www.geomancy.net/fs/5element.htm ) Under the destructive element: Example 1: If you are a strong metal person, in order for this person to create wealth, he `destroys' the element wood. If you are a strong wood person, by destroying `Earth' you create wealth If you are a strong earth person, by destroying `Water' you create weath etc... Under the above condition, you must be STRONG in order to destroy the element `in-front' to create wealth. What happens if I am a `weak' ____ person? For example, if you are a weak metal person, yo…

Kindly advise You can make use of this link to check if 5 sep 2007 is an auspicious or not:- URL: http://date.geomancy.net Generally, most people will avoid collecting key, intial opening of door, move-in, start of renovation during this 7th month. 9. Dear Anon, In my opinion, although the main door facing may not be suitable to you; however, it is too premature to know for sure how it affects your finance. For example, this can be considered as ONE (1) leak. But yet, this one leak can be either: No or minimal issue (minor leak) or a major leak. From my past experience, many other factors need to be taken into account:- 1. External Environment (The landscape, the site, the building). This is strongly affected by Shapes and Forms Feng Shui. Usually, the rich get richer, is by building a home specific to draw wealth from the environment. This is not illegal as one cannot complain to the police to arrest him/her. Qua…

Hi Cheryl, cheryl ludwig wrote: This is my question. I am planning on buying a tract of land and building a house on it. Further to what I had mentioned; For the surface area of your `Feng Shui friendly' tables or for anyone wanting to manufacture Feng Shui friendly tables can use this explanation:- (One Feng Shui foot is nearly equal to an imperial foot. One Feng Shui foot is roughly equal to 43 cms.) Description of tables with multiples of 17 inches (lenght x width):- THE MAGICAL 17 INCH FACTOR "One Feng Shui foot was derived from the side of a square, where the length of the diagonal of a square is the square root of two. In the West, this is known as the `magic square'. Thus multiples of 17 inches will translate to several square foot of the optimium auspicious width. " Warmest Regar…

Dear Elkay, 1. I have `cut-paste' this message which was a recent reply under the forum topic: " Feng Shui for Business ". 2. Feng Shui cannot be seen as a `cure all'. If there are better `tools' or `concepts' e.g. methology in teaching, this would prevail over the use of "Feng Shui". And even give a quantum leap, where Feng Shui cannot fully achieve. It is the same as using specialised tool for a specific activity. For example, if we want to cut an apple in half, we use a knife instead of using another tool such as a screw driver or even a scissor to cut the apple. Thus, using the right tool for the right occassion is a much sensible idea than just simply using the wrong…

These are some considerations: 1. House number report is actually Flying Star Feng Shui. 2. The common Flying Star Feng Shui or the 9 grids has to do with HORIZONTAL analysis. 3. While this House number is also Flying Star Feng Shui and has to do with VERTICAL analysis. 4. Usually, it is best used during a development launch where one can still have the pick of both stacks and individual level units. 5. Holistic Feng Shui: 5.1. For example, let's hope that a home's horizontal Feng Shui is good or acceptable. If the horizontal Feng Shui is not as good and there are major leaks; and the vertical House number or level is not so good; it is like the Titanic which would ultima…

Dear SL, No, it depends. This is the rationale, why, I suggested for a `proportinate' sketch or layout plan. Without a proper sketch, it is not easy to comment whether to superimpose a 9 grid or to assess it as an `L' shaped home. For an `L' shaped home even if we separate it into two rectangles; it may be quite trickly for some to find out what is the direction of the main entrance and whether to use to directions (different) grids for each rectangle or superimpose identical grids to both triangles. Warmest Regards, Cecil

In order to further improve the lottery luck; earth luck should also be looked into. Ba zi is about Heaven luck or luck from heaven. While Earth luck is the Feng Shui. Thus to improve on the chances of lottery luck this person should try to locate: the Mountain Star #8 and activate this current prosperity "lottery" luck at home.

Hi, Please read below:- You are welcome:) Actually for Eight House, you don't have to worry so much about proper superimposing. Just use the eight directions and take the center of each level. For Eight House, I find that the Pie method rather than the nine square method is easier to use. The Pie method is to have 45 degree angle for every direction starting from the center. If you use this method, you need not worry about having two sets of layout. Also it clearly tell you the direction whether good or bad. If you have a choice, try to locate in a better room, and try to face in one of the better directions, avoid the death and disaster. But of course, this …

Hi, The element of pottery is Earth because it is made of `earth' or originate from the earth. Yes NE and SW are considered the Earth element. Therefore, some books ask that one place pieces of pottery at these locations. However, one can say that this is a " novice " method of looking at placement of objects in the home. Most authors will usually ask one to place water at the North or Wood at the East. Looking at it, I believe, this is very basic Feng Shui that should not be applied if you are using advanced theories especially the Flying Star. You should like what you have mentioned, look at using the Flying Star rather than such a very general theory. With a " 5 " you…

Sha Qi from roads are harder to cure because these are external shapes and form influences.
