Dear Master, I've been following Feng Shui and can you give me your opinion on this. Generally, house on cul de sac street is bad. Does it apply to every house on the cul de sac? In the picture attached, does it affect houses (houses labeled A, B, F & G) at the mouth of the cul de sac at all?

Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: Based on the free Personal Ba Zi/Feng Shui Element Report that I hv received from yr website, I hv noticed that my Kua no.is 4 and wood element. Like it mentioned, Kua is 4 and the element of the Kua is Wood element. However, since Kua is based only on the YEAR of birth it does not give the most accurate breakdown of your birth element. Just like if one is born in 2006 (Earth Dog), if you based on the ba zi from the YEAR of birth then you are a Earth element. These is correct, but not the most accurate form of your true element. Depending on which day you are born, you can be a weak water/strong fire etc born in the Earth dog year. So that mo…

1. In general, the main key success factor of a home that wants to tap the sum-of-ten should have as rectangular or squarish home as possible. 2. Under Para 1, the best case senario is a helicopter view where the entire outline of the home is rectangular and squarish. Thus, in essence, the 9 sectors can be "magnified" by this sum-of-ten for all 9 sectors. 3. Another key success is to have as much open space as possible within the 4 walls of the home. 4. Thus, from the above, the key success has more to do with macro Feng Shui then micro Feng Shui. Thus, be it a 1 level (storey) or 2 storey home, the best senario is still Para 1 (full stop). 5. The above is the key es…

Hi, Please read below:- Actually, if you look at it realistically. Why do you ever want to put a painting or candles in the bathroom? I mean won't the steam from hot/warm water, damage it or put our the candles? So far from what I know of this, I don't find anything wrong with having shower curtains. I don't think that belongs to any Feng Shui related issues. The rational behind it is that if you notice that flying star always changes, and it is definitely possible for the bad stars to fall in any one of the true sectors (eg 0 degree, 45 degree etc). So when this happens the good chi which say happens to be southwest this year would go down the drain? So, because…

Yes, it is difficult to say not to clean it. But, in your situation, if there MUST be a need to service or clean the air con, and if you do have other family members (not stakeholders or breadwinners) perhaps could arrange for someone who services aircon. Here, make an appointment with the aircon service person; and if possible, ask one of your family members to be around; and if you can; the breadwinner disappear like the plaque for the period; the servicing of the fan coil ...

Dear YC, Yes, symbolism is very important in Feng Shui: 1. Most importantly paintings must not show animals that are `fierce'; too thin; on the prowl & looks hungry etc... 2. Since, you have mentioned that the painting is a resting, friendly tiger, in my opinion, this is acceptable painting. Where possible, place this painting in areas where there is clear space e.g. living room area. And not in enclosed or small confines of a bedroom. 3. Other types of paintings: 3.1 Paintings near main entrance or living room area: If one is using traditional Chinese paintings, one can use e.g. paintings such as 8 or 9 koi fishes. To symbolise clear space. Calligraphy is ok. 3.2 Pa…

Dear Deborah, 1. Apologies, the `dog' thing was meant to be a *JOKE* Glad that you have well trained (civic minded)dogs:)) 2. Frankly, there is no hard and fast rule on what makes a perfect garden. 3. Most of the time, in-fact, it is what you and your family feel comfortable with. 4. From your description, you garden sounds lovely. This is already a plus point. 5. The other `secret' ingredient to a successful (area) is the sight of birds. Birds, like us, do appreciate good location. Hopefully, they are not king fishers or fish eating ones (especially if one rears koi fishes:) 6. Don't worry, so long as one has a passion of gardening or simply admiring or making effort to …

1. Feng Shui is about location, location and location. 2. The above takes prime importance, first priority over the interior layout of the home. 3. Have come across several homes like yours with such staircases at the middle of the home. From landed property to penthouses in a condominium. 4. So far as Par 1 is favourable i.e. have good shapes and forms; frankly, one can still live with this problem! 5. Thus it is not the "end of the world" for you! If it is possible to screen the stairs from the main door; (it is one consideration). 6. Therefore, I believe, that your home can sustain, this. (Provided, there are no other major multiple "wealth leaks" in a home.) War…

Dear Utpal, Please see below:- Under Ba Zi, if one is a weak water or strong fire; it is best not to have too much of the fire element. Nowadays, there is too much commercialisation in Feng Shui to the extent that even pyramid objects which was one used by another ancient civiliation : Egypt and Maya's. In China, we do not seem to see a pyramid. And because of this, it was felt that products such as a pyramid `cure' or `enhancement' is more of a gimmick. Please do not mistaken it with a Pagoda. In the past, Pagoda's are often placed above water veins especially lower down the river to neutralise (underground water) sha qi. It should not be construded as a pyramid shap…

1.The 2-dimension view (top-down) layout plan, shows that most likely the frontage is at West. This is often the case as the Living Room cum Dining room shares the stretch of the window at the West. 2. Sometimes, the frontage MAY be a the side with the four trees cum road. But perhaps, most likely, this side of the road may be noiser as the garden here is narrower (than that at the West). 3. Thus, based strictly on the layout plan, it looks more likely that the frontage is at West.

These are some considerations:- 1. Most likely your whole flat painting could have been affected by each year's "sensitivities":- 2011 Flying Star Forecast North 8 3 1 9 7 5 4 2 6 South Take note the following sectors:- Sickness Star this year is at South Misfortune/Sickness Star this year is at East Disputes/Quarrel Star this year is at North Education/Romance Star this year is at South-West Grand Duke this year is East, 90 Degree. - Avoid sitting facing the grand duke or disturbing him by having renovations. Location in Conflict is West. - Avoid having renovations done opposite the location in conflict. 2. For example, in the above example; esp…

Dear Anthony, 1. Usually, for a house at ground level, the following is `acceptable' Feng Shui for a split level house: 1.1 The living room should be the lowest. There can be steps to the dining room. And the staircase to the second storey can be at this level (dining room level). The kitchen can be slightly lower than the dining room. For example a few inches lower to 6 inches. There is no hard and fast rule. But rather more important, is that the backyard should have good backing or solid support e.g. a retaining wall. To act as a `tortise back'. The rationale is that sometimes we need to wash the floor and water do not need to flow into the dining room and subsequentl…

Dear Anon, Quote: I am a bit confused with the explanation. I am 'weak water' element. Does that meant I should seek career in 'water' element? You are a weak water, because your 6% water is destroyed by 62% earth and your 12% metal isn't enough to strengthen you.Sothat makes you require water and wood elements. So yes, water or wood career elements are generally favourable for you. Please refer to this link for information about the five element and career:- URL: http://talk.geomancy.net Your wealth element is Fire.Fire element is the element that water must destory in order to be able to control it. As a weak water, you are like only a bucket water, how are you go…

Hi, In my country, it is common to find pianos. 1. More often the pianos are the `smaller' versions not the large concert hall ones. For the concert hall ones, as it is `low' it can represent a `water position' and is suitable for a living room. If one can remember, under the Flying Star theory, we have both the mountain and water star. A living room is usually considered as having a water star because at the `center' area, you usually cannot find high shelves etc... Here it would be auspicious to have the concert (triangle) piano to complement the visitors chairs etc.. "on the other side" of the room. 2. For the smaller pianos, which is high at one end, it should be p…

Hi, Grateful if all users can take note when creating a new topic, please try not to use one syllable word e.g. Dowsing. I have changed the wording to: Is Dowsing Important? This is because it is easier for Users here to `pick' and choose the topic they want to read. Thanks in advance. To find out more on what you have mentioned please go to this url: http://www.geomancy.net/fs/under.htm You will find the answer there. Thanks. Cecil

Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: Please can you advise me on where to install my water feature. The best place to place a water feature that is auspicious for Feng Shui is to find where your water wealth location is within your house. For example, a Period 8 house, the current wealth is star 8, future wealth is star 9 and future future wealath is star 1. For period 7 house, the current wealth is star 7, future wealth is star 8, future future wealth is star 9. etc. So sectors where these 3 star is located are he better sectors within the house to place the water feature so as to activate the water wealth luck. 1. In order to be "attacked" by a poision arrow, it is often the sharp corner of another mega building close-by. 2. At sixteenth floor; so long as especially your unit living room window does not over-look at a "pole" like structure that directly slices the living room, then it does not pose an issue. For bedrooms, also, so long as it does not slice any of the rooms thru the bedroom, this is not an issue. However, a simple day curtain especially for a bedroom can easily help to "cover" it. Thus if it no longer is seen it no longer can create a poison arrow. 3. This tower is significant especially if one has a child studying in a bedroom. For example, if the tower is to …
