Dear Jason, Technically speaking the main influence will be based on the Eight House or East/West Group person's best direction. You can place a display item i.e. moderately. Ideally, it should be on the person rather than the location. Do watch out what you are placing on your table i.e. avoid poision arrows e.g. sharp edges pointed towards you. Another important point is the " overriding " consideration of the Four Symbolic Animals concept where your table should be against a solid object e.g. a wall. The back of the table should not be a glass panel or window. Warmest Regards, Cecil

  2. Dear Sophia, Ideally, it is common to place the Fu Lu Shou in the living room. Often, it is placed on the display shelf or display table facing one's sofa in the living room. Here, the idea is that we can "look at it". Please take note that for the Chinese, placement of the figurine is based on the way we (Chinese) read a sentence in a Mandarin book. Thus, imagine that you are now facing the figurines: -the tallest figurine should be in the middle. - search for the old man usually in yellow robes holding a red peach. He should be on the left side of the tallest figurine. And the one that looks like holding a "fan" should be on the extreme right of the tallest figurin…

Dear Emily, Actually, it has more to do with "visual" sight or appearance than Feng Shui. For example, we can draw a parallel to the dining table. In Feng Shui, it is often mentioned by practitioners (including myself) avoid placing the dinning table facing the main door. The rationale is that while some of us are very tidy, but for practical reasons, for a family, we have the father, mother and children; often, the family members come back at different times. And for practical reasons, often, food is left on the table for the last person to eat. And if one often sees a dining table, it is usually (for many people) to have articles / food etc.. placed on it. What is …

Hi, the seller left the garden shrine (a four faces god altar) at their front garden and refuse to dispose it at their own. The seller claimed that there is nothing situated on it. What is the proper way to dispose it? or i can just hack it off as it is cemented on the ground.

Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: I have purchased a new Chinese Money Frog to replace a damagedMoney Frog that was accidently dropped and got broken. Is there any Chinese protocol that I should follow for the proper disposal (or throwing away) of the old Money Frog? 1. Feng Shui items are not imbued with mystical abilities, including the Money frog, which is considered a marketing ploy and primarily used for aesthetic purposes. 2. These items do not require any specific rituals or protocols to be followed, as they are considered more as art pieces. 3. If you are worried about disposing of them, simply wrap them in old newspapers and discard…

    1. Usually, some older folks would wrap (even number of coins) e.g. 20 cents in a red paper and placed it into the urn. 2. You may pour the contents (ash) into say a plastic "bin" and check to see if there was any previous "objects or items" such as the above. If so, you can still take it out and place it into your new urn. 3. Often, when changing urns, some would scoop some of the old ash into the new urn. 4. You may wrap up the old urn in a "used" clean newspaper and simply throw it away, afterwards.

This are some considerations: 1. Common sense Feng Shui 1.1. The stove should not be too close to a sidewall especially if later, one needs to place a large wok onto the stove. Here, if the wall is too close; the wok simply can't be placed onto the stove. In addition, if the stove is too close to the wall, flames will get to it. 1.2. For the Chinese, we often fry our food; thus it is often not a good idea to place any other items be it a cabinet or a fridge too close to the stove. Here, after a few months, the side of the fridge would often be soaked with deposits of cooking oil. 1.3. The stove should not have the neighbour's drainage pipe or sewerage pipe above the stove…

Will the grave site has bad effect to the house owner? Is it advisable to buy or avoid buying this house? Generally, having a graveyard close to your home isn't advisable. Dear Stan, Frankly, I believe many people would agree with me that we should use the words " It depends". This is because, in Singapore, there are all sorts of "failures": For example: 1. Some people are greedy and dabble into stocks and shares beyond their means. (Not all, but some) 2. Some Singaporeans, go into "silly" businesses or unimaginative business. For example: into bubble tea business or business that they think will work - but often, cannot. 3. Singapore is such a tiny country. With a small market share. And I believe there was some report that a large percentage of business failure in Singapore due in part to this small market and other factors e.g. hig…

  12. 1. Feng Shui cannot be done by remote-control. For example, if one does not stay in that home; one's earth luck does not come from that home. 2. Like any other investment decisions; if we ourselves have some concerns in a property, do assume that others would so the same; later if one intends to sell it off. 3. For example; Block and unit numbers of apartments does not come under Feng Shui. But for majority of the Chinese; we may be concerned of numbers especially if a unit has #04-44 etc... 4. Many of us are already aware of much of the factors that may be considered as "bad" or poor Feng Shui like: a unit directly facing a road and other neighbouring block's sharp or…

Dear Anon, I understand your situation/position as it is difficult to convince someone else on this. Strictly speaking, one should not even drill (i.e. touch the `grand duke' at the specific location). Unlike a situation where, " one does " a major renovation i.e. call a contractor to do it for `you'. This information is found under the Flying Star report at www.geomancy-forum.com Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, It is ok for you to thrim the bushes in front of your main door as you are not `disturbing' the earth i.e. unless you are digging the earth at the east location. If you dig the earth, Symbolically place a metal object between the main door area. For example you can use a metallic foodtray or even a shovel on the wall. Metal will be able to shield the house and the trimming. It is best not to let the bushes overgrow as this would bring a different set of inauspicous qi especially since it is at the main entrance. Therefore, trimming does not distrub the earth. If there is a major digging going on in the East, the best metal to use is to place a car/vehicle bet…

Hello Cecil. Thank you for your advice previously. We are now in our new home. My husband needs to do some work under the side of the house which faces north. He wants to fill in the underneath side to make a garage and workshop. Part of it is northeast and he needs to put materials up under the decking to create a sealed roof. Being aware of the dangers associated with loud noises, Disturbing the dirt etc, can you please advise if there are any days that work can be done? He can't wait for 12 months unfortunately. I thank you for your help, in advance.

Dear Alex, It would be good if you can draw close sketch and attach it to this forum. I would like to answer your question but, I hope can understand that I would need to see the following clearly:- 1. The shape of your plot of land and the outline of the concrete-lined drainage ditch. In particular - the outline of the concrete-lined drainage. 2. Describe the gradient on all four sides of the house. 3. If possible, describe the surrounding houses e.g in front; side. Alternatively a street directory map of the sector of your house. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Hi Ed Gin, No need to be full-height solid platform. Often feng shui is about symbolic objects. As long as you have something which acts as a partition. That will be enough. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research

thank you very much for your prompt reply. I feel more confident now to use the balcony as my direction. If I can further intrude on you, if I were to change from period 7 to period 8, some sources mentioned to change a new door, roof/ceiling and floor/carpet. As such, do I change my entrance door to a brand new door or do I change the balcony sliding doors since my direction is based on the balcony's direction? Thanks in advance. brgds, Vincent

Dear Anamika, The main important thing to do is to find the centrepoint of the house. You can follow the instructions below:- http://www.geomancy.net/fs/cecilcompass.htm to find the centrepoint of the home and subdivide the home into the relevant compass grids either 9 divisions or 8 divisions depending on one's comfort zone. The url, here can help you understand how to do a step-by-step guide... http://www.geomancy.net/fs/house1.htm Warmest Regards, Cecil

  23. Dear Master Lee, I am in the midst of house hunting and would like to seek your advice. Do all 3 South facing houses (S1, S2, S3) face the Direct Spirit (正神)in Period 9? However, only S1 has double 9 facing stars whereas S2 & S3 are double 9 sitting stars. Is facing Direct Spirit more important or double facing stars when it comes to choosing the most auspicious house in Period 9? Thank you.

  24. Dear Pam, 1. Given the unique nature of each home, it is inaccurate to generalize that all foreclosure homes have bad Feng Shui. 2. Unfortunately, business problems may not always be directly related to the Feng Shui of a home. Issues such as a flawed business model, poor marketing, or planning can also contribute. 3. Therefore, it is not always the case that foreclosure homes are the root cause of an individual's problems. 4. When dealing with a previously foreclosed home, it may be necessary to apply Feng Shui remedies more assertively to address any negative energy. 5. Even in homes that have not been foreclosed, it is important to check for si…

  25. Dear Lucas, In your case, for analysing your home using Feng Shui, you still have to consider your main door as facing North even if you do not open your main door most of the time. The fact that you have to enter and leave the house through this door remains `valid'. (Even if ch'i frequently comes in from the balcony or any of your rooms depending on the prevailing hot/cold air pressures). As your balcony is at the South, do also `ensure' that when you open your main door, avoid ch'i flowing direct out from the main door to the `south' balcony (if you have not considered this already). In traditional Feng Shui, it is utmost important to determine the `centre' of the hous…
