  1. Thanks Cecil, I am a bit relieved because I have a 5-2.4in my east sector of the building which encompasses most of my unit. I was worried about health problems. The stars in the unit itself seem quite good. Thank you again. You are so kind. Bill

Dear Jane, In my opinion, this is the first time I come across the comment that growing money plants would take away luck. Perhaps, some may consider the money plant a vine. This is because, it has the ability to grow roots and cling on to walls. Maybe because of this perception that it may take away luck. Otherwise, in my opinion, there should not be any issue on this. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Master Cecil: I am unable to upload a sketch of the way of my house situates relative to my neighbors' houses. Let me see if I understand your message. I cannot cover all cases. I simply try to summarize what I observe on the street I live. Primarily, the street in front of a house determines the direction of the Qi comes from. Therefore, if a number of single family detached houses situated side by side facing a street: 1. The frontage of the houses that are closer to the street collect more wealth. 2. The frontage of the houses that are relatively distant from the street lose wealth to other houses. 3. The frontage of the houses that sort of tilt away from the stre…

Hello Dear Cecil! I need your advise. I lost my job more then month ago and since then everything went wrong. Every day something bad happens..... The most recent one is my parakeet died, next day somebody destroyed her grave... I am still without job,no money left to pay rent or others bills. If I wont find job ASAP I can end up living on the street. The important thing is I'm looking for job every day and still empty handed. I have flying star report and four pillars. I placed all cures according report right after I lost job. Something is very, very wrong.I'm already afraid of next day, because only bad things happen. IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE I CAN DO(i mean feng shui).I'm d…

Dear Anon, In my opinion, there are four `sources' of such spirits: 1. Wondering imps. These imps, I believe are playful imps that perhaps are `attracted' to the home e.g. where they pass by a house, found the sound of the windchime. In my opinion, these are quite harmless, but can give nightmares to people. 2. Spirits or souls that could not rest easy. For example, they were brutally murdered, hanged or some other events of such nature. I believe, these spirits soul were not laid to rest and perhaps, the event somehow still continue to be `trapped' in the particular area. 3. The Seven Lunar Month. Since ancient times, the Chinese believed that during the first day to t…

  8. Dear Anon, 1. For coins such as those where we should step on e.g. 3 coins at the main entrance. Where stepping on the coins is like stepping on `gold'. For the above, it can be buried under a floor tile or place underneath a rug/carpet etc.. 2. For coins used as a `cure', it is my opinion and I believe the opinion of many FS practioners that it should be displayed and not hidden discretely. If you ask some practioners, they may say that you can hide it. It is my honest opinion and my recommendation, that it should not be hidden. Warmest Regards, Cecil

  9. Hi, Here are several important considerations to keep in mind: 1. It is advisable to reassess the overall configuration of the house. 2. As Robert pointed out, a missing corner is defined as one that exceeds 33.3 percent of the house's total area. 3. Often, without careful examination, one might mistakenly identify a protrusion as a missing corner. 4. As you noted, it is not practical to install mirrors on both sides of every wall to compensate for a missing corner. 4.1. For further information regarding the significance of a missing corner, please visit: http://www.geomancy.net/fs/building.htm. 5. One effective way to mitigate this issue i…

  10. Dear Anon, 1. In my opinion, in the West, it is more common for Feng Shui practitioners to advice their clients to place Ba Gua mirror to counter-act Sha Qi. 2. In the East, or Hong Kong, Taiwan and the Far East, Feng Shui practitioners either advise on: 2.1. For many Feng Shui practitioners who have a religious background e.g. Toaism or Buddhism, would often advice their clients to place a Ba Gua mirror for `protection' on their door or many doors. Here, they even ask their clients to place certain `charms' above the doors. The charms are usually written on yellow paper and with red wordings or drawings. Alternatively, many use a Ba Gua with the twin picture of the two d…

Dear Anon, To be honest, over a few sentences, it is very difficult to pin-point what is the issue. Generally, if everything else remains the same and then when we shift to a new home; issues come-up. Most likely there are "wealth-leaks" in your existing home: For the home Feng Shui, the leak(s) could be due to Shapes and Forms: do stand inside the main door looking outwards... check for any "poison" arrows such as lone lamp posts etc... or any pointed roofs of neighbours aiming either towards the main entrance door or the windows. The other concern is how suitable the home is to the male breadwinner and other Compass School concerns and if possible the knowledge to …

Hi Cecil This advice regarding bunk beds was given to me by a Feng Shui practitioner over here. As this person is consulted by our Chamber of Commerce and many other corporations I assumed the advice would hold some authenticity. I guess one has to be very very careful who one listens to regarding general FS advice. Cheers Glyn

Dear Anon, The idea behind using the hulu or bottle gourd is to "suck away" bad elements. Thus it is often placed in a toilet or next to the toilet bowl e.g. if the toilet is at the centrepoint of the house. Or often placed in a bedroom to counter "sickness" stars such as #2 sickness and/or #5 misfortune/sickness stars. Thus it is not placed based on the situation you had mentioned, below. Warmest Regards, Cecil

  16. Dear Chandra, A hallway does not create Sha Qi (negative Qi). However, because of its shape, Qi cannot properly circulate. The most common remedy by many Feng Shui practititioners (provided the hallway is not too narrow) is to place plants spaced out along the hallway to `slow' down the Qi. Warmest Regards, Cecil

  17. Dear Elena, Yes, when one changes the roof of a house, one should change the birth chart. But if the house is already under Period 7 (this period, for example if the house was built in 1985 and recently, there is a change in the roof), it will still be a period 7 house. If the house was built in 1980 (Period 6) and there is a recent change in the roof, then the house should take on a Period 7's house. Warmest Regards, Cecil

  18. 1. Under the area of "symbolism" in Chinese culture;in general there are twopictorial representations with horse(s):- 1.1. In the past, pictures were drawn of an "official" mounting a horse saddled with "treasure". This pictureis said to represent the hope that the person displaying this picture/painting can achieve a high post or position. 1.2 Nowadays, new pictures or paintings referring to the above are "rare". 2. Some Feng Shui practitioners recommend to their clients to place a statue of a galloping horse (there are several replicas of beautiful ancient galloping horses). This figurine is placed facing the main door. The Feng Shui practitioner would say that if on…

  19. Dear Anon, As your personal particulars quoted to him remains unchanged, then most likely he may have made a mistake in the calculation. As once the ba zi has been properly calculated, the readings will not change. Thus, in my opinion, he may most likely have a made a mistake somewhere. As it is certainly strange to see a reading change in two different sessions for the same person. Warmest Regards, Cecil

  20. Dear Anon, Two meters away from the centrepoint is adequate distance away from the centre. Ideally, the centrepoint should be clear space but from what you had described, since the toilet is not directly located at the centrepoint, this is a plus point. Warmest Regards, Cecil

  21. Dear Anon, As Robert has mentioned, Chinese Lunar New Year does not always fall on the 4th or the 5th. One good way to find out the dates is to go to this URL: http://www.geomancy.net/fs/90-2010.htm Under the above URL, you can check the `Start' date of the Chinese Lunar New Year from 1990 to the year 2011. You will see that it does not always fall on 4th or 5th. Warmest Regards, Cecil

  23. Frankly, as far as I know; no one has done any studies (if any) in this area. It is good that you have perhaps look at both charts and you felt that on which nature intended you to be born is more accurate.

  24. Dear Anon, It is hard to associate electrical problems to Feng Shui. However, as Feng Shui uses the "commonsense approach", in a broad sense, such things can be associated with or co-related with Feng Shui. Basically, there is no past written information of the effects of electricity on Feng Shui as it has only been invented by Edison in our century. Based on "commonse", I believe, most of us feel strongly that this may be a potential for a fire if the problem is not resolved. The closest to this is that it is considered inauspicious to have the bedroom above a kitchen. The reason is because although incidents such as a fire in a kitchen is uncommon, this would be the mo…

  25. 1. Yes, you can definitely ignore fake birthdates. 2. In fact, the "truth" or real birth date is critical! 3. For example, often we get clients that have a family member that told us that they can remember exactly their lunar birth-day. And this date is properly converted back to the western date. 4. In the past, many people were born in remote areas and often, there is a time lag between their actual day of birth and the day their family member say; went to a police post to make a police report. Thus their actual birthday is 7 July 1930. But their birth certificate shows 17 July 1930. But their parents had recorded somewhere or still remember that their "child" was …
