General Help

Seek General Advice from Master Cecil Lee

  1. Dear Master, I've been following Feng Shui and can you give me your opinion on this. Generally, house on cul de sac street is bad. Does it apply to every house on the cul de sac? In the picture attached, does it affect houses (houses labeled A, B, F & G) at the mouth of the cul de sac at all?

Dear Anon, Lets look at it closely: 1. " North East and SW are Earth element locations." 2. To determine or check if a location is imbalanced, one has to use the Flying Star analsys instead of simply using the `cure' of "salt water". As you have correctly mentioned, salt water (salt) need not necessarily be the earth element. Perhaps, the author had visualised `grains' of salt as near equivalent to `grains of sand' representing earth element. I feel that one should not place salt water at NE and SW without any reason. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear David, A person's favourable element is never just one element. A Strong Fire has 3 different favourable elements:- 1. Earth (yellow) 2. Water (blue/black/gray) 3. Metal (white/gold) also known as the wealth element. So in fact you can use any of the above 3 different elements in different parts of your life to enhance your luck. Even for your Five Element, there are different percentage for each element so sometimes certain element that you have too much you do not want to have too much more, instead it is often better to have a balance element. ie. 5 element each broken in percentage whereby all elements should try to achieve 20%. So those, which you have too much …

  5. 1. In my opinion, technically, all the arguments are logical. 2. Majority of the time, below the staircase (or same spot) as the staircase, many contruct a store room. And this can help to "lock up the bad stars". In addition, it is always better not to have a bedroom or living area with really bad stars vs that of the staircase. 3. It is known fact that if possible, the stairs are covered (top and side). 4. As for wooden staircase, concrete, metal, all these can be based on the Five elements concept - if it does not have an impact of the building code, no issue. 5. Many homes with flaws such as corkscrew staircases etc.. may not necessarily give it a disadvantage. Fo…

  6. Dear Master Lee Thank you for your quick reply and advice. We currently sleep with the door closed. I understand that this would minimize the problem. I will take your advice and place a "shield" between the bedroom door and the child's bed. Thank you very much.

Dear Keith, In my opinion, it "the bedroom above a garage" may not necessarily be the main cause of the problem. The rationale is that not looking at other diagnostic tools such asthe use of Flying Star Feng Shui etc... there are existing owners who do have a bedroom or even a master bedroom above a garage. Usually, the main reason why it is considered inauspicious has to do more with "Commonsense Approach" to Feng Shui. For example, the main rationale, in addition to what you had mentioned, some people use another reasoning or both: what you had mentioned and also that in (the unlikely) event that the car at the porch catches fire, and the bedroom is directly above …

Master Lee, I do apologize for the ambiguous way I asked the question, to be specific: North - Family room - Disaster East - 11 year old's b/room - Death SE - Spare b/room - Irritation South - Kitchen - Spook My front door faces the West as I am a in the West House sector as my DOB is 15/08/57, unsure as to the time I was born. I sincerely do appreciate your advice to this predicament. Best wishes, Rory

  11. Hi, Please read below:- This means that if you are water and fire is your wealth, if you are a strong water and constantly with an environment or job which represents fire, you are likely to be successful and wealthy! But only if you are strong enough to take advantage of it! Deity is like a god which for the Pillars presents some helping stars. It is represented by the 5 elements of which there is a direct, and indirect version of each element. For example, direct wealth and indirect wealth. This means that direct wealth is wealth you obtain from your hard work. As for indirect wealth are wealth such as inheritance or winning lottery etc. Bone is a term use by t…

Dear Andreea, 1. In my opinion, Chinese Astrology like its cousin ( Western Zodiac signs ) provides a description of the `traits' of a person belonging to a `sign'. 2. I feel that these signs or readings if one consciously or unconsciously read about what it is like for a person, sometimes, we may tend to `believe' that our `traits' or characterstics are like that described. This may lead to `auto suggestion' and some of us may `follow' such characteristics. 3. For example, if we read that a `Rat person' is:- The Rat person is charming and ambitious. They are always busy and seldom able to relax fully. If not, they get bored easily or get bad tempered. They enjoy going t…

Dear Oliv, Oliv Sullivan wrote: What is Huo Hai? I have been told have this at my front door entrance in the west sector. Generally, in flying star star 2/5 are considered illness/misfortune. So if you have such stars in that sector, then you are considered to have some huo hai (disasaster). If there are such stars, Metal is necessary to balance the sector. You can use the free flying star report in our member area to determine if there are such stars present. The other disaster to take note is the one from your suitability, ie West is Disaster sector. In this case, you can't do much here if this is your main door, because this is a matter of suitability. You can only …

  17. 1. If you have a sketch, it would be better! 2. Overall, so long as the spiral staircase is not facing the main entrance door directly, this is a plus point. 3. Is the steps for the spiral staircase fully covered or it is one "plank" onto another "plank" with open spaces in-between.

Hi, Please read below:- In the traditional, because Feng Shui came from China, the coins used were Chinese coins with a hole in the middle. However, the rational behind the coins is that the number 6 is already strong metal along with the coins being made up of metal creates a strong metal good enough to act as a cure whether or not there is a coin is a Chinese coin or not. Of course if the original coin has a square cut which is represented by earth, does give additional strengths to the coins however, realistically there is no point is purposely searching high a low for such a coin. Therefore, it is not necessary. Feng Shui can be cured with many basic items found …

Dear Kathy, 1. Frankly, it is better to place your bed in a good Shapes and Forms position. 2. Some examples of favourable/unfavourable bed positions can be seen under this url:- http://www.geomancy.net/resources/theories/fs-bedroom.htm 3. Many of us, do have `opposites'. And it is best that the person who has more auspicious influence sleep closer to that intangible force. While, the partner sleeps further away. Warmest Regards, Cecil

  21. Started by Susan,

Dear Susan, In Chinese culture, many traditional buildings have e.g. lions guarding the main entrance or other `fierce' creatures placed e.g. on a building. Thus, in my opinion, the "Gargoyles" that you had mentioned, served a similar purpose in some `western' buildings. For the Chinese, it is quite common to find a pair of dragons or a dragon "guarding" each side of the roof. However, this is usually found on temple roofs only. Most homes do not use such figurines. In Feng Shui, if it is a `public' building e.g. Chinese Chamber of Commerce Building or other public buildings that has a traditional touch, would usually place two lions on each side of the main entrance. War…

  23. Dear Bridget, The two concepts are different:- 1. Flying star is about the luck of the house, where is the wealth stars, where are the inauspicious stars of the house. This analysis tells you whethera sector is good or not or how much luck you can get from the home itself. 2. Eight House on the other hand is about the suitability of the sector, or best direction. A good sector of the home based on the flying star does not mean it will be suitable to you or not. ie say the bedroom has excellent flying star luck, but if the bedroom sector falls in the North and your Eight House tells you this is Death/Disaster sector. No matter how good the stars of the North sector of t…

  24. Dear Anon, In my opinion, there is really nothing magical about a wish box. It is similar to someone keeping a good luck charm. Since this does not fall into the category of Feng Shui or divinity, I am unable to answer your question. However, I do not really see any harm in keeping or treasuring it. Warmest Regards, Cecil
