Dear David, David Sim wrote: Hi My master bedroom lies in my disaster line. Two toilets sit between my master bedroom and the centre point. Do the toilets negate the bad influence of the disaster line? Generally, your individual eight house (4 good or 4 bad) directions mainly helps to determine whether a house or bedroom sector or facing direction is favourable for you or not. So it helps you determine whether a sector is good for you to use or not. So if the bedroom falls in your disaster sector it means that that room isn't the most suitable room for you to make use. The most suitable house would be one that most of the good sectors of the room would fall in the suit…

Dear Janna, For individuals who may not possess strong mathematical skills, it is often possible to divide a layout plan into nine equal grids: If the toilet is situated in the central grid, this is regarded as a handicap. Nevertheless, when considering the main door, it is essential to observe its position in relation to the toilet at the front. The interaction between these two elements (the main door and the toilet) frequently influences the flow of qi, potentially introducing sha qi. Personally, as Robert and I evaluate as many as thirty layouts each day, it may be more efficient for us to rely on visual cues, as this method is quicker. Warmest R…

Dear Koslan, Please see below:- Yes, one should apply cures for any imbalances at the specific sectors. If one is applying the Eight House Theory, then apply it towards (especially) your bedroom i.e. is the bed at an auspicious sector? Or if it is a couple, one party could use another as a shield. For example, if the husband's sector is `death' while the wife is `irritation'; it would be better for the wife to sleep closer to this intangible force and the husband further away. In order to activate the mountain stars:- 1. It must not be activated i.e. at the front door or frontage of the house. For example, if a mountain star is found at the front door, do not ac…

The second one seems to take precedence over the first, since it's an extension and more complex, more accurate This article might help: http://www.geomancy.net/resources/fst/fst-8h-intro.htm You have to set your priorities and make your choices. 8. Dear Anon, In my opinon, the best units are at #20 or #23. Units that are facing the highway such as #22, #30 etc... can be quite noisy and parts of their balcony/bedrooms is affected by the afternoon sun especially for higher floors. The unit that you are considering is OK especially for high floors since there is a very auspicious double 8 at the balcony area(facing direction). And in fact, what better scope is that there is aswimming pooljust outside of it. Furthermore, because the unit is South-Northdirection, most of the unit(s)will not be affected by the afternoon sun. Only the very high floo…

Dear Anon, 1. There should not be an issue here. Some Feng Shui practioners believe that electrical items such as washing machine or dryer that shakes should not be placed at an auspicious sector. If it is an inauspicious sector this is good. As the shaking will drive away, the auspiciousness. 2. With the various forms of Feng Shui available, Para 1 is of secondary importance. More importantly, if one fully understands the purpose and limitations of each Feng Shui theory or concepts, this will instead, put to good use. Warmest Regards, Cecil

  10. Hello, I am about to purchase this semi-detached property but it has a rather non-typical layout (image below) with a tilted walkway which created a cut corner in the master bedroom. In terms of Feng Shui, is this good or bad? The living room has only 2 slim but high windows, I am thinking to hack the wall and create a large 2 panel doors opening to the yard to create some sort of flow, would it help?

Dear Carrie, 1. Ideally, a staircase ought to feature a turning or landing. If I am not mistaken, I observed a straight staircase in one of the layout plans shared in "Audit for Financial/Hardship Cases Only). 2. Should there be a landing on the staircase, some Feng Shui Masters recommend placing a mirror at the landing to deflect Qi upwards. This is optional and not mandatory. 3. Ideally, the stairs should not be positioned at the center of the house. If it is unavoidable, consider placing potted plants at ground level on each side of the stairway. If the stairs are attached to one wall, a plant can be positioned on one side. This is also not obligatory, a…

Dear Anon, 1. Usually, the advise is not to use too many crystal balls. This case was because, this person used trial and error Feng Shui and would place a cluster e.g. more than 5 or 6 crystal balls at a particular location. It happened that he placed the crystal ball at a location, nothing happened and he placed more at the particular location. Therefore, there is a difference between using one crystal ball and over indulgence using so many crystal balls. We have to clearly understand the distinction between the two. I am thus concerned if one `over indulge' or `over eats' in such a situation. 2. At another location, he bought a water fountain and pla…

These are some considerations: 1. Symbolism. 1.1. The rationale why LAUGHING buddhas are very popular is the "SMILE" on it's face. 1.2. The idea here is that when we see "someone smiling" it is suppose to makeus feel"happy". 1.3. Thus, it also indirectly may affect someone's psychology in some way: This is why many Chinese place the laughing buddha looking towards the entrance of the home. 2. Even for many Chinese, the laughing buddha should not be taken seriously. Therefore, it does not have any association with religion nor considered a religious artifact. 2.1. Therefore, even for many Chinese; they consider it close to a "decorative" item. 3. After understanding the ab…

  19. Dear Karen, 1. Honestly, there is not much that can be done in such a situation. 2. According to the Commonsense approach to Feng Shui, the primary concern is the increased likelihood of a fire originating from the kitchen. Therefore, it is generally not advisable to have a bedroom, door, or wall adjacent to the kitchen. However, in contemporary settings, the installation of fire sprinklers (or, if unavailable, the strategic placement of smoke detectors) is highly recommended. 3. If your residence is constructed with brick walls (or solid brick walls), it is preferable compared to having gypsum or wooden walls that separate the bedroom from the kitchen area…

Hi ! I would like to improve the feng shui of my home (especially the career aspects) but the floor plan is very unusual and I really don't know how to place the bagua map or the adjustments I would have to make... As you can see on the map, my front entrance is at the end of a long and isolated corridor, and the door is tilted towards the exterior of the apartment. Thus, if I align the bagua map with the door, almost all of my apartment would be outside of it. How should I place the bagua map ? What would you recommend ? Thank you so much for your help ! It is traditionally beneficial to comprehend why the Chinese utilize the compass with TOP representing the South and BOTTOM representing the North. 2. Upon closer examination, it is evident that China is situated in the Northern Hemisphere, where the majority of mountain ranges are located in the North. 3. For those who have visited Beijing, the capital of China, it is common to observe that many houses have their windows and main doors oriented towards the South. Furthermore, the absence of windows on the North side is attributed to the dusty storms of…
