General Help

Seek General Advice from Master Cecil Lee

  1. Frankly if you are into pure DIY; you really have to make an uphill task to learn more. The major topics that I had mentioned in one of the illustrations : "A practical approach to Feng Shui today" has clues on the types of Schools and Headings. As Rome is not built in a day; so is DIY. For those who are for eg. too impatient to DIY; may consider other routes e.g. get expert help etc...... this is pure common sense. For example; this is similar to other disciplines. If you have a modern car. Would you go to the trouble to doing your own servicing? If yes, then you may have to read up to gain knowledge before you can do your own servicing. OR? Bring it to a workshop which…

Hi, Reference to right hand drive, can I check if house 1 under the picture is considered as in path of poison arrow? Is T-junction only applicable when its direct 90 degrees head on? Also, if there is a temple house separated by another 2 house, is it ok in terms of fengshui? Thanks!

Could you please advise me of cures for a home which is situated at the top of a T intersection? We have just purchased the home and it's perfect except for this problem. It is double storey with the main bedroom situated on 1st floor towards the rear of the home. Should I erect a fence and plant trees behind it? What design of fence would be best if so. The street is running towards the house from west to east( in Australia. ) I would really appreciate your help. We move in at the end of January. Many thanks.

Hi Master Cecil, I asked you a question in your post about clothesline. I need to ask you again with different topic that seems like nobody ask. So, I want to buy this house which has an open space in the back of the house with walls around it (you can see the illustration). I plan to move the kitchen to this area and install clear/transparent canopy so it would be bright. The grey area shown in the picture already has canopy (not transparent), so the rest of the area on top of the kitchen and clothesline are going to be installed with transparent canopy and put some permanent small ventilation. I would also plan to install some shades that can be…

Dear Shifu, We are looking at to buy a unit at Eco Sanctuary with true North South facing. The living room face South and the kitchen (per layout) looks like to be in the NW sector. The door face West when you stand at the door looking out. As these are quite new to us, may I know base on the layout, if the kitchen is indeed in the Northwest? If yes, what can we do about it? Both my husband and I are west group people. It looks like the master bedroom in the SE sector isn't ideal? Thank you Shifu!

    1. The stove is traditionally positioned lower than the sink in most cases. 2. In Singapore, there are over 3,000 condominiums and landed properties where the stove and sink are often at the same height, so the sink being higher than the stove is not a major concern. 3. Following the example from the previous point, it is possible to have both the sink and stove at the same level. 4. Many condominiums opt for a stove cum sink table top that is around 34 inches in height. 5. It is recommended to use 34 inches as the standard table height, as it is the most practical choice. However, 33 inches can also be considered. 6. To be on the safe side, 34 i…

  10. Dear Karen, One best test to see if a mirror is located in a good or bad location is by sitting on the bed. If you can see your profile in the mirror either lying down or simply setting on the bed, this is considered no good under Feng Shui. The rationale is because, it was felt that when we sleep, our souls leave our body and when it sees itself in a mirror, it will get a `shock'. This view is widely held although some authors may interpret this differently but still hold on to this concept. In my website, I mentioned that, if you do not have a problem and can sleep peacefully with a mirror facing you, then, go ahead but if you have restless sleeps, perhaps, you may want…

Unlike the Initial-opening which is also known as First-time-open-door procedure; just imagine; later on one should try to "warm-up" the kitchen. The best "warm-up" is the use of the stove. There is no harm to place the Fa Gao (Haut Quay) on the stove. Place it aside somewhere else later in the kitchen that's all. Frankly, the procedures are just symbolic. The act of bringing in the items are like "placing" wealth into a home. So long as the item and many other pass the main door; all it takes is simple commonsense. For example, if one were to bring in a packet of sugar, rice etc.. the natural thing is to stock up the kitchen. Be it, "now" or later. Do take note that ag…

  15. Dear Anon, In my opinon, the best units are at #20 or #23. Units that are facing the highway such as #22, #30 etc... can be quite noisy and parts of their balcony/bedrooms is affected by the afternoon sun especially for higher floors. The unit that you are considering is OK especially for high floors since there is a very auspicious double 8 at the balcony area(facing direction). And in fact, what better scope is that there is aswimming pooljust outside of it. Furthermore, because the unit is South-Northdirection, most of the unit(s)will not be affected by the afternoon sun. Only the very high floo…

Dear Jen, Please go thru some of the resources here:- House Hunting: Can or Cannot buy? http://www.geomancy.net/products/po-hunting/po-hunting-faq.htm In fact, many times I have been taken advantaged of with regards to the above. For example, in the past, I had to literally `put-down' every other work to help these people. The faster I help analyse each case, it does not seem to be appreciated. What's more, often I hear of "threats" - The agent says, I must confirm OR ELSE.. In fact, there were many cases where some clients (I did for free) literally - gave me the entire development's plans and help them find good choice units. One even asked me could I identify good hous…

  21. I reproduce my comments, below:- === START === These are some considerations:- 1. You stay there, I (geomancer) don't! 1.1. Thus it would be very irresponsible for me to give you a one line advice! And you may have to live with such a consequence. 2. Just imagine a bomb. Even a bomb or a grenade when it detonates; has a critical radius. Thus, don't just think that just because the centre of gravity is only a pin prick, it is only at that dot. 3. Just look at the illustration b, I provided. The area is at least larger than the red circle I drawn around the "pin prick" centre of gravity. 4. Thus, what makes one think that by say shrinking the toilet (a little) one's worry i…

Majority of homes at Cul-De-Sac; don't have such a configuration as mentioned, below; or else; based on the book of Yang Zhia Shi Shu; how one places one's home in relation to other homes can affect health or even leading to death... Enclosed please find a picture of a house where death would occur twice. This is based on the book Yang Zhai Shi Shu http://forum.geomancy.net/phpforum/article.php?bid=2&fid=19&mid=2701&new= Therefore, many people prefer to play safe and buy homes that are in uniform rows that don't meander or be in a cul-de-sac. Just imagine, in some cul-de-sac homes, there can be similar layout as shown in the above URL! This is an actual case…
