In my opinion, this comes under symbolism in Feng Shui Simply place a red dot onto both door knobs to "allow each other to see eye to eye with each other" is The norm for this situation.

  2. Dear Anon, Please see below:- There is relatively no harm hanging a small object. Peacock signifies beauty and dignity. Because of the "huge eye" on a peacock feather, some say that it can drive evil spirit away. Sometimes, this can be found in some Chinese temples. In Chinese culture, peacock is used much less than in Indian culture where there are more myth involved in it's use such as the peacock throne. Predominantly, after the Manchus conquered China, manchu officials adorn hats with peacock feather. Frankly, there is no specific location to place it. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Cindy, 1. In my opinion, unless one does a reno to relocate the bedroom door, there is not much one can do unless the bedroom door is closed when not in use. 2. The rationale is because, it is not feasible to place a partition or screen between the bedroom door and the staircase. 3. An alternative is to place a screen or e.g. a 4 drawer linen cabinet between the door and the bedroom. 4. Before doing anything drastic above; in my opinion, I find a bedroom door facing the stairs - not a `big' issue i.e there is relatively not much - if any impact on those living in the bedroom. So far, I have not come across much problems with regards to this issue for most people. 5.…

Dear Chris, Overall, the toilet sha qi is in the way of your office and home. To be honest, there is not much one can do here other than to e.g. move out of the office. (Especially the office space). Using mirrors can be a double-edged sword. If the sector happens to be a bad sector; it may bounce back twice the bad luck. And at the moment, if you are not sure of the effects, try not to make it `worse' - should the mirrors inadvertenly bounce back twice the bad luck. Overall, if there is some cure, I would be most happy to share with you but as you are aware, it demands something `physical' such as relocating the toilet or if this is not possible, moving out at the soone…

Dear Anon, The common "cure" is to place a red circular "dot" (e.g. using a permanent marker, or a circular red sticker the size of a hole-pucher hole or the use ofa "girls" reddish nail varnish. Just simply place the "dot" on the key hole area or just above the keyhole of the doorknob. Place the same "dot" exactly on the same area of the other door. Here, symbolically, the RED dot is like an "eye". And it goes " we look eye to eye with each other Anonymous wrote: the 2 bedroom doors of my apartment are facing each other what can i do with this?

Dear Anon, Please see below:- This is the same concept as a full height screen. Some practioners would advise the use of a wind chime in between the two doors. However, one should get proper consultations before placing a wind chime. (Especially if one is placing at the NE, NW and West) locations of the house. A hanging mobile or crystal is not advised. This is because in my opinion, I personally see no rationale for the use of a crystal or a hanging mobile. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Angeline, Under macro Feng Shui; for Singapore, which is located in the south, ideal colour of doors especially entrance doors is white or represent the metal element. For your case, I have seen the doors and felt that it is `minor' and in my opinion, will not have any effect on your family. As opposed to the headboard which is symbolic of sleeping in a tomb. Therefore, I personally feel that there is no issue and there is no need to paint the lovely `natural' wood coloured door(s). Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Jonathan, Currently, we are looking at it from the point of view of Shapes and Form Feng Shui. As `corner' or `sector' Feng Shui e.g. South-West = Romance/relationship sector can be quite misleading. This type of `sector' Feng Shui; in my opinion is too general to be considered applicable to everyone. However, if we use Shapes and Form, (as a `replacement' to this `sector' Feng Shui; we are concerned with the placement of the bed in-relation to the bedroom. It is always best to place the bed on the opposite wall of the bedroom door provided there is not a window there. If there is a window, there; then there should be a gap between the bed and the window. In Shapes a…

Dear Mr Lee Thank you so much for your reply. Greatly appreciate your help. Emily free-advice Listmanager wrote: From: Cecil Lee Dear Emily, 1. The idea behind the neutralising of #5 is the use of constant metal. Thus, imagine this: a wind chime that does not make (constant) noise is as good as not having a wind chime at all. This is akin to swallowing a sugar coated pill with no good visible results. 3. With this potent combination of #5 x 2, one sure need to have pretty much constant metal to…

Dear Emily, In my opinion, instead of going-head-on at looking at ways to neutralise this bad stars, it is good to check (long-term)whether your home can or cannot benefit from "flying" to Period 8. In particular what are the stars in the bedroom. Is it much better in Period 8 or the same? For this room, in particular, try to avoid having too much earth tones or in particular avoid Yellow. Since earth can further fuel metal (#7 x2). Although #3 is not so favourable, but given that metal destroys wood (#3), it is a blessing in disguise. For the bedroom, the best element or colour scheme would be the water element e.g. blue, black or grey. This is the best element, her…

These are some considerations: You wrote: 1. if I can still activate both these stars with water and mountain feature, because star 7 is considered inauspicious now in Period 8 and I also have a base and annual star of 3(bad star) at the entrance area also, unless you meant that my house period 7 luck will continue into period 8 without any major renovation to change my house to Period 8. 1.1 In general, from 2004 to 2023, #7 and #7 x2s will continue to be a bad number: Theft and Robbery star. #7 = weak metal. 1.2 If there is an annual star = #3; this is considered as bad wood element. And under the Five elements concept: Water fuels wood. Thus, in theory, placing a w…

    1. In my opinion, your home should still be considered as a Period 7 home. (Unfortunately, it is not so simple to Fly to Period 8 as many have imagined). 2. Based on your description, in my opinion, it should usually be South facing. If you have stayed in this home for several years, no harm in drawing a Flying Star chart for both South and NW - and check to see if which is more accurate. (When checking the critical stars are #5, #2 and #3 negative stars which often leave some "clues" behind). 3. It is still a better choice to activate a water position (especially) if it could be done at the double #8 (current prosperity) sector. To "prevent" roving eyes, you can chec…

This has more to do with common sense (first). In the remote sense that especially if the sewerage pipe leaks; hopefully it does not drip on someone going thru the back door. From my personal past experience; many older homes that are considered Feng Shui safe also have a similar situation where the toilet is just above the middle of the back yard area. But often, the back door, though is not directly below this toilet. The backdoor is somehow to one side of the back yard area. Thus this may be different from what you had described. If one knows how to plot the Flying Star numbers; then determine what are the flying star numbers at this back door area. Thus usually after …

Dear Elena, If the main door is at the facing direction, you may consider tilting it to away from this double facing position. Otherwise, frankly, there is no way of "tilting" the entire facing direction -- just not possible, here. For some homes, or landed property, some even correct it by changing the "facing direction" i.e. relocating say the living or rooms with high activity... Warmest Regards, Cecil

Thank you so much for your reply Cecil. I wanted to get a clear answer because the front door to a property is one of the most important aspects in feng-shui, and so I now assume that whenver I see a quote saying NEVER build a double door for a main entrance, that is pure nonsense. Thanks again.

  20. Dear Anon, Frankly, this has more to do with superstitious belief than Feng Shui. In my honest opinion, I have not heard of having two or more double happiness symbol equates to more than one marriage. Lets wait for a feedback. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Carlos, 1. Usually, if one does not use Feng Shui, go with one's intution. 2. Under Feng Shui, there are considerations like e.g. the compass direction of the location to consider. 3 Here, this is usually referenced with the flying star influence of a specific sector. For example, if the ktichen so happens to have bad wood #4 with say additional #1 watercoupled with the location of the kitchen at the north. Too much green (wood) would not be beneficial as water helps fuel more of bad wood. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Lupi, Please see below:- Basically, Pillars of Destiny takes into account: Heavenly stems and earthly branches. For example, what is looked at is a person's Year, Month, Day and Hour of birth. In the above, each of these periods Year / Month / Day and Hour is considered a pillar each. Thus, there are 4 Pillars : Year Pillar; Month Pillar; Day Pillar and Hour Pillar. Withing each pillar, there is the earthly branch and heavenly stems. Thus this would make up `Eight Characters' or 4 pillars x 2 (1 earthly branch & 1 heavenly stem each). Pillars of Destiny takes into consideration the interaction of all eight characters. Of which, the main influence is due to: 1…
