Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: Can someone explain the Caslte Gate method of Feng Shui. There are many resources and postings on the forum that most of the answers can be found if you just do an advanced search for Castle Gate Theory:- URL: http://forum.geomancy.net/phpforum/article.php?bid=2&fid=6&mid=9813 Basically, it is tilting a building (ideally) 45 degrees to the road or if this may not be possible; then, tilting the main door directions 45 degrees instead. As the word `Castle' suggests; it has also has water. Therefore in order for it work, water (not still water) is used here. Water at the frontage must be moving e.g. a fountain to activate the `castle' …

1. The best method is to plot a flying star chart of a home. And use this flying star chart to analyse each sector. 2. For example, if a sector has a water star #3, then this is considered as a bad wood element and planting bamboo or plants can even further create "harm". As #3 is associated with scandals, conflicts, lawsuits. The above is just one simple illustration to show that it is more prudent to apply Flying star in such a situation. Not withstanding, the dragon and tiger etc...

Dear Dr Muthu, I hope you understand that it is very difficult for me to comment on this as one really needs to be physically present in order to make a sound comment. There are many issues with regards to water positions such as how the inlet drain flows through to the outlet. E.g. does it flow in a straight line, at an angle or even whether it meanders inwards or outwards. How fast is the movement of water. What is the degree of inclination, `slicing' movement inwards or outwards etc. Especially if there are two water courses running one on the East and West. I do not want to comment on Lillian Too's assessment without consideration on some of the factors as mentioned a…

Hi, This is different from having a roof over a landed property. Here, if you are using e.g. blue tiles, the impact is on your house. But if you are living in a Hi-rise building, with a miniature fountain, this will not impact on your apartment. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Carlene, From the description you have provided, it looks OK to add a window. The only acceptions are: 1. After it is installed, check that there are no poision arrows e.g. sharp corners from neighbouring buildings that point to the windows. 2. If Thee is a poision arow, you may need to neutralize it e.g. using thicker curtains. It is better to have a room with natural light than a dark room. For skyline, it is adviceable not to have it above a bedroom for privacy. For practical reasons and not Feng Shui, one reason is that it maybe exposed to thieves. Otherwise, it is acceptable to install a new window. "Listmanager" wrote: __________

Dear Users, This has to do with BELIEFs than Feng Shui: 1. Attached illustration showing that it is inauspicious to use a divider to keep shoes (facing the main entrance door). 2. It is very inauspicious to give a friend a pair of shoes. Warmest Regards, Cecil P.S. Pictures not available for those listening in under the mailing list option.

Thanks for your sketch. As mentioned, previously; this has more to do with common sense then Feng Shui. For example; if there is a fire at the stove area; and since it is sharing the same wall as the "exit' stairs; don't want to have a flash fire at that location nor smoke coming out of that area...

Hi, Currently there are four methods of dealing with a T junction (not in any order of importance):- 1. Change the angle of the door to face one of your best directions i.e. tilt the door to one that faces one of your good directions. This is said to `kill' two birds with one stone. 2. If your main entrance door is elevated, you can have semi-circular steps leading to the house. This is one technique of `radiating' sha ch' away from your main entrance. 3. Alternatively, if your main entrance is level to your external of the house, you could consider a specially made semi-circular carpet e.g. of half of a sun with it's fiery sunlight (spikes) radiating away from the mai…

Hi Master Lee I have read in several places that the SW sector represents the female. If the female resides in a place where the toilet/kitchen/storeroom is in the SW sector, it is supposedly extremely detrimental. 1)does this mean that she should eliminate such a unit when house hunting? 2)does this common belief have any basis at all? 3)are there workable remedies to address it? Would appreciate your views. Thank you.

1. Many of us are totally focused only on just our Kua or Gua (Eight House) Feng Shui. 2. But more importantly, the House "Gua" or Kua is more important factor. House Gua often is based both on Shapes and Forms Feng Shui and Flying Star Feng Shui. 3. For personal Gua or Kua, do take note that between facing a good direction and spending time at a good sector, "spending time" prevails over facing a good direction. Although facing a good direction is "Nice-to-have" and not a must-have factor. 4. Lets go back to the start... if we can reverse time: "Finding a good home": Here, the "house gua" or simply Flying Star is used to look at the birth chart of the home. 5. And th…

Hi, Frankly so far, I don't think there is anything written in the past (nor the present) on the use of water beds and metal beds. As I mentioned in a few forum messages that the original use of Feng Shui caters more towards Feng Shui Masters locating a site for a city e.g. Canton or many other Chinese Cities. Following this, their concern is with a site within a city and perhaps an overall location of a village. The closes to the bed is the use of the Shapes and Form School of Feng Shui and the use of Compass School techniques such as the Eight House and the Flying Star. What does all this mean? Feng Shui is all about trying to enhance beneifical qi or to neutralise Sha …

Dear Alberto, To find out more about the North South Debate, please click on this link: http://www3dglobe.com/fs/addsites.htm#SOUTH Currently, no one has shown proof of the validity of the South Hemisphere model. Feng Shui can equally be applied both in the North and South. You wrote: 1) May I know any particular colour of the shade or pattern of the shade? 1. If one further applies Flying Star Feng Shui, then plot a flying star chart. In the sample attachment, each bedroom's best colours are mentioned. Then if you want to apply them then use the best colours associated with that room. 2) If to put side table and lamp beside the bed, must it be two table and lamp on each side of the bed. If due to space constraint and put just one table and lamp on one of the side , is it ok? 2. Please apply Commonsense, here. If I am not mistaken, you have uttered your own reply to your question, please. Thus don't need a cow-sense geomancer for this rite…

Hi, Please read below:- If it is due to natural causes e.g. old age, this is acceptable. Overall, this is not Feng Shui but based on `rituals' or practises. If one is a Christian, some would invite the Priest to the house and offer some chants; for Catholics i.e. sprinkle " holy water ". If you are doing it yourself, you can mix unpolished rice grains with salt and throw them around the house especially the corners. As I mentioned, this is not Feng Shui. Salt is often used in such occassions. In Chinese studies, usually, well water is not well regarded as it is said that it harbours a well spirit. I can understand why because one must be careful especially if…

Dear Liang, Under the Shapes and Form Feng Shui, it is preferred not to have an air well in the middle of the house. However, from the illustration, you had provided, it looks like the air well is at one side of house. It is advisable not to place a water feature especially close to the centrepoint of the house as this is `bad Feng Shui'. This is because water (under I-ching implies difficulty) and a water position there would not be ideal. It would equally not be good to plant a lone tree there as this is equally bad Feng Shui. In your case, try to leave a clear space i.e. you can if you want to have small pots of plants within the air well. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Guest, Please see below:- This depends more of what is facing the house. (Are there any threats such as a neighbour's sharp pointed roof) etc.. In my opinion, therefore, this may or may not pose a problem. It does not pose a problem if there are no threats to the main door. Often, many homes have drainage at the front of the home. But hmm.. 6 metre wide is pretty large drainage. Under `commonsense' approach to Feng Shui, if there is such a huge drain, it looks more like a canal. In the past, this is inauspicious - especially if the connecting `bridge' to our home is made of planks -- which if not well maintained can pose a safety hazard (it may collapse). I…

Dear Nini, I agree with Deborah on this. One important concept in Feng Shui is " If it no longer can be seen (the threat) it no longer becomes a threat. Therefore, one of the easiest thing to do, e.g. a threat looking into a window is to use curtains or blinds. Blinds are a better alternative in such a situation since, one can manipulate it to filter as much light into the room (if possible). Warmest Regards, Cecil

Thank you for your prompt reply. To further clarify on the same subject, there are eight kua according to the Eight House Theory. I agree that thefacing directionwhere the Qi enter the house is of utmost important. But before that we have to determine the kua of the house before we can apply the Eight House Theory. So, a house that sits on East (using the loupan to determine), it is the "chen" kua and thus we can apply, based on the Eight House Theory, the favourable and unfavourable directions based on the "chen" kua. Do you agree?

Dear Erika, In my opinion, I consider this more an `environmental issue'. Perhaps, you may have to " discuss " with your neighour whether it is possible to `redirect' this air e.g. using a funnel away from your home. If not, maybe your local authories can help. Overall, this is `new' to Feng Shui i.e. the modern invention of an exhaust fan, but it is generally inauspicious (bad Qi) and you should try to resolve it. Black Hat Sect practise using static templates (ie South-West is Romance corner for example), so every's Romance activation sector is South-West.
