My birth is august 7, 1963 and this office is on the west side of the building. thanks for any assistance. As you mentioned, this is not really a feng shui issue. In this case, bats/rats etc are all pest. So there isn't any problem that is related to feng shui. The only thing is that you may feel or think it might be a bad omen to have found something dead especially when you move just move in. So maybe spend some time to clean up/disinfectthe place or …

Sorry the photo is blur. But can you see the outline of the "moon" gate at the entrance of the home? This "moon" gate arch is supported by the two gate pillars of the home.

  4. Dear Anon, The semi-circular doormat should not be utilized in all areas of a residence. The most suitable place for the semi-circular doormat is at the entrance of a bedroom, for instance, positioned in front of the staircase. Apart from this, it is recommended to place it outside the house, even though it serves as a mild form of Feng Shui defensive tool. For instance, when ascending the staircase, the bedroom door is directly visible. In this scenario, the semi-circular doormat could be appropriately placed here to counteract the sha qi emanating from the staircase. Thus far, this is the only location or circumstance that I can identify as acceptable for…

Dear Serene, The purpose of the mountain star is symbolic of having a `mountain support' at the `back' of the house. For example, one must not activate a mountain, say at the main door. Here, it is like blocking clear space. Please see below:- It is good that you had added a divider between the main door and the window/balcony area. If not, there is a major leak. For the dining table, perhaps, you may not have drawn to scale. As it looks quite crammed where one of the chairs nearly meet the living room area. If it does, than, you may consider turning the table 90 degrees. I may be mistaken. If the current space is spacious, then, your current layout is ok. Yes, I can …

Dear Anon, To understand if the tree is a `threat' to your home, do check out the following questions: 1. If one stand at the main entrance and if the tree slices the house, this is considered a poision arrow. 2. If it slices through the window, it is a poision arrow. As I understand from your message that the tree on the right side of the house, this is usually acceptable. 3. If you have a relatively large garden or if the tree is quite a distance away from the house, this is acceptable. In Feng Shui, a tall, large tree is considered too Yin especially if it is at the compass direction of NE, NW and West. But as you mentioned that it is the SE location, this is still acc…

It is acceptable even though the door leads to a hallway to the bathroom door right across the hall? And with windows opposite of the door in the bedroom? Would the bed feel like the centre of attention placed in the diagram? Thanks.

Dear Janna, The key success factor here is to make sure that one is very well versed in the Five elements concept. And also use another tool of Flying Star Feng Shui: the Eighty-One combinations interpretations. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Randy, Please see below: It is fundamentally more important to follow the Shapes and Form School e.g. the Four Symbolic Animals Concept i.e. have a solid support of the wall. In addition, it is nice to sleep with the head facing a good direction but this is secondary after sleeping in a good auspicious location. Warmest Regards, Cecil

In my opinion, if your office is on the 17th storey, the external building (and it's spine) and the mrt tracks are not considered a poison arrow or a sha qi. In fact, if there is really a threat, it could be the lamp post as shown in the attachment - especially for lower floors. Since you are at 17th storey, it is impossible for this lamp post to be a poison arrow. Concentrate on improving the Feng Shui of the interior of the office, instead.

These are some considerations: 1. In your case, it is better to go by personal feel or feelings. (At worse, this is known as "trial-and-error" or in today's Feng Shui); it should be given the dubious distinction of the term "trial-BY-error" method. Why? 1.1 Traditional Feng Shui not only looks at your ba zi; but in addition to this things like Flying Stars and the "stars" in your bedroom - good or bad. 1.2 Look at it this way: 1.2.1 In order to obtain your personal Ba zi information e.g. weak water person; one's date (& even time of birth) is needed. 1.2.2 This is the same for your home. Your home has it's own birth-date and BIRTH-CHART. 2. Therefore, without …

Dear Dominique, 1. The key success factor is all about `balance'. 2. Under the Five Elements concept; balance is important. 3. Under the higher form i.e. Yin and Yang, balance is equally important. 4. Even in our daily lives, balance is good. 5. Thus it does not necessarily mean that placing dozens of six coins would mean that it is good. It can instead become an `over-kill'. 6. When determining e.g. a `cure' under Flying Star Feng Shui, we need to look at the strength or balance at a specific sector. Often, we need only 1 set of six coins at a specific sector. 7. If the situation demands another stronger cure, than it is better to use the next best alternative. 8. For …

I plan tomove main door to W sector and face N so as to capture the m8 w8 stars and face one of our best directions.New doorposition would also no longer be under the masterbedroom toilet. ii)ensuring our sleeping and sitting directions are in our best direction. Dear Anon, Sounds like the location you referred to is `Siglap'. Usually, with modernisation, most of these locations are acceptable. 1. Usually, for a home located on a gravesite, so long as all the graves are dugged up, this is acceptable. Many homes in Singapore have been built on `reclaimed land' for burial. 2. The Yin Qi will usually `wear' off as it is inhibited by people Yang energy. What is more important at this point is to make sure that the house conforms to the Shapes and form School. For example, try to make sure that the house do not have missing corners. It is situated such that the water position if any is not at the back of the home. Warmest Regards, Ceci…

Dear Chris, Besides using the wind chime as "decorative" pieces or some use it to enhance Qi, the other uses include placing it to `neutralise' sha qi such the edge of a corner. The caution is to avoid placing a metallic wind chime at the Metal sectors i.e. West and NW. Plus the Devil's gate located at NE. Some FS practioners use it between the two bedroom facing doors as mentioned by you. Another method of counteracting this is to pave a screen in one of the bedrooms between the bedroom door and the room. It should preferably be around the height of the door. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, 1. Currently, the consensus amongst many Feng Shui practitioners is that the influence of the bookshelf, or its `knife' "cutting" effect applies to a person who, for example sits with such an influence. 2. Some highly conservative FS practitioners may advise that it is inauspicious to have the open bookself near to the main entrance door. 3. A realistic view is that Para 1 is the main concern. For Para 2, this is highly subjective and in my opinion, not likely to pose any problems. However, the main idea is to keep the space at the main entrance area clear (as possible). This is are more important consideration. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Master Lee, A question on this topic about front door facing direction. I realised there are different method of calculating the best direction of a front door. Besides targeting on the breadwinner, the spouse should also be taken into consideration. For exampleif I use the 8-Element of the couple for calculation. If one of thembelongs to "Earth" and the otherbelongs to "Wood". Since Wood Enhances Fire and Fire Enhances Earth, is it true that the common direction for the couple is Fire which is "South"? Thus, the best combined direction for the above is South regardless of being one of the "bad" directions for either one of us? Its quite difficult to have one d…

But ultimately his main CORE function is to GROW the company = Wood element. 3. So, other the industry that you are in; what are your core skills? You have ask yourself. What is your main or chief function. For example if you are suppose to develop a software or fine-tune it or make it work; then most likely "programming" or water element. 3.1. If you are there to SELL software then Fire element. 4. Nowadays, what it means that the industry one is in; may not be purely what a…

Dear Anon, This is a very good question. Generally, in my opinion, this is very common in the West. Especially, if there is a "lovely" bay-window just behind the bed-head. But locally in Singapore, this is often not a good idea for the following reasons. And these reasons are often "common-sense". In Singapore, majority of the homes are apartments (flats) or high-rise and it is often not too good an idea to have the bed-head against the window:- 1. Unfriendly neighbours! There are occassions where inconsiderate neighbours throw out cigarette butts and sometimes it may fall down into an open window. And if are beds are close to or next to the window, there can be a p…

Dear Anon, 1. It is good to understand the concept behind the kitchen. In traditional Feng Shui, the kitchen plays an important part because this is a location where we are suppose to prepare our food. The main principle behind it is that we must try to keep our food warm. Thus the kitchen is suppose to keep us "warm". 2. With this understanding, we can also go further to say that the kitchen usually has both water element and fire element. 3. As water element and fire element are opposities e.g. Yin and Yang, it is best not to place the two together close-by. 4. In your situation, what is more important is the location of your kitchen. Ideally, as what you have mention…
