I stay at my new place only over the weekends (cos haven't customary wedding yet), while I spend most of my time at my brother's place. Just wondering, If my brother's place has very bad Fengshui (or is bad based on my ba-zi), while my new house has ok fengshui, how will my luck be affected? Will my luck be baddue to me spending the majority of my time at my brother's place, as compared to if I stay majority of thetime at my new place? Feng Shui cannot be operated by remote control. This means that the house or place you s…

Dear Glyn, Truly sad to hear about the series of mishaps. On the surface, like you mentioned it looks like the effect of the Grand Duke. Perhaps, Shapes and Form may (or may not) be a further cause of it especially if the building profile has been `altered'. This is because, Shapes and Form has been known to result in such tragedies. Warmest Regards, Cecil

  3. Thanks for giving me a better understanding of the 5-element and bazi. At first, after reading about using bazi to calulate compatibility and using 5-element concept to create balance, I thought it could also be applied to a family unit to enhance harmony, didn't quite understand. I suppose I misunderstood its application. Best regards Paul Wangchuk

Dear Kathleen, Yes, too much light e.g. from glass walls have a negative effect. As it creates too much `Yang energy'. Unlike normal walls that can absord some of the `yang energy'; too much glass relects and bounce light causing an unbalanced effect. Ideally, renovation should be done to correct this. If this is not possible, then plants can be used to counter or absorb some of it. But if the panels of glass covers a large area, more plants may be needed (and this may not be feasible). Alternatively, one may have to consider hanging posters or painting on each side of the wall to neutralise the dispersion of light. (The ideal situation is to renovation as mentioned earl…

Dear Mimi, Please see below:- Of course, the other important consideration is that Water feature should be placed in open spaced area. Meaning it should as far as possible be placed in say the living room with a larger area, or preferbly outside of the house (especially the frontage of the house). Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear David, David Sim wrote: Hi My master bedroom lies in my disaster line. Two toilets sit between my master bedroom and the centre point. Do the toilets negate the bad influence of the disaster line? Generally, your individual eight house (4 good or 4 bad) directions mainly helps to determine whether a house or bedroom sector or facing direction is favourable for you or not. So it helps you determine whether a sector is good for you to use or not. So if the bedroom falls in your disaster sector it means that that room isn't the most suitable room for you to make use. The most suitable house would be one that most of the good sectors of the room would fall in the suit…

Dear Anon, 1. A `caution' on Eight Aspirations or also known as Eight/Life Assocations is too general a concept to be used. Here, for example as you had mentioned North = Career `sector'. Although it sounds so easy; this is too general. It is not practical to say that for everyone or the entire world; everyone's Career sector is at the North. Similarly; it is also difficult to accept that South West is the romance sector for all of us. What happens if each of us `outdo' one another to `decorate' this sector? 2. The Eight House although is a `static' concept; it takes into account at least one's Year of birth. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Master, Thank you for the wonderful website. I've some questions which I hope you can help. Q1) May I know if the Eight Aspirations (Compass) method is the same as BTB method? Both seem to use the same 8 sectors convention (i.e. Fame, Career, Knowledge, etc) except the BTB aligns Career sector to the front door. Q2) Assume I am using Eight Aspirations (Compass) method, do I divide each sector like a pie/cake, or do I divide them into equal squares/rectangles (Luo Shu squares)? Which is the correct way of dividing the areas/sectors? Q3) You mentioned Eight House method is a more accurate method. May I ask what can be done if me and my spouse are East-group persons (i.…

Dear GuanPing, Please see below:- We have divided the time such that there will not be a situation where a 2 hour time frame should not overlap another 2 hour time frame. In addition, one Chinese hour is considered 2 western hours. Thus, we would consider both you and your brother as both `WEI' because it pass the 1 pm time frame. However, it also depends on how the timing is recorderd on the birth certificate as it may not show the actual time born. Here is our opinion about twin's related chart and hour pillar:- 1. Hour pillar In our opinion, even if you ignore the hour pillar, we can still get a pretty accurate reading of your life. However, with an accurate hour p…

Dear Yang Ming, Under the Eight House theory:- 1. How suitable is the house? Often, if `death or disaster' sector is at the main entrance for the breadwinner, this is already considered like the breadwinner having a `fractured' arm. 2. If the house also has a toilet at the centre of the house; then these are more leaks. More leaks translate to something like: a fractured arm to an `amputated leg'. 3. It is thus more important to understand all these. 4. In addition, under the Eight House, it is better to sleep in a good sector and nice to have sleeping with the head facing a good direction. 5. Other than the above, there is nothing magic about the Eight House. It has it's…

  12. Dear Deepti, Please see below:- One must correctly understand the purpose of the Eight House Theory:- 1. In general, it can be used to find out how suitable a house is to the breadwinner. 2. It is good to have good intangible force in the bedroom. If the sector is not as auspicious to one spouse but good for the other spouse; the spouse who has the "better" intangible force sleeps closer to that sector (shielding) the other partner. Thus if North (bedroom) is an auspicious sector for the husband e.g. his health sector; while it is the disaster sector for the wife; then the husband sleeps closer to this sector. The Eight House theory is mainly about the above t…

Dear CoolCat, CoolCat SG wrote: My house is on the 16flloor, how do i place my eigh house chart? Should it be main door or balcony? You should follow the ruleset as shown in this page:- URL: http://www.geomancy.net/resources/art/art-cecilcompass.htm Since you are living in an apartment above 7th level, thus your facing direction would be your balcony direction. ie standing inside your balcony looking outwards. This would be your facing direction of the apartment. When applying the eight house sector (ie which sector belongs to what influence), that portion you should still align the north direction to the north sector of the house. Hope that helps. Dear Robert, Per your suggestion, please find attached the layout of the house (both first floor and second floor)and a "bird's eye" view of the location of the house. 1) Please help me find the center of the house and define the sectors? 2) The West side of the house has a creek running nearby , separated by a road and beyond the creek are mountains. Please give comments / advise on the location of the house in relationship with the creek and mountains. The head of the house (male)has a fire element and I (female) have the water element. 3) As I mentioned to you, I have problems understanding how to define the facing of the house, using the compass. 17. Dear Anon, 1. The priority should be given to balance the inauspicious Flying Star sector. Once it is balanced, it is considered neutralised. 2. Between the two, Flying Star takes priority. But once the imbalance has been neutralised, it should no longer come under a `threat.' 3. Thus, you can still sleep in the room which is one of your auspicious Eight House sectors. Warmest Regards, Cecil

  19. Dear Vincent, Frankly, I got so confused with your description. One moment you mentioned that your bedroom is in the West so that sector has star 5-1-2 (ie Mountain-Base/Time-Water). Later, you mentioned that you are sleeping pointing in the East direction which I presume you mean that your bedroom room though in the West sector of the house, but you are sleeping facing East. If so, why are you bring the Flying Star star East sector 1-6-6 (ie. Mountain-Base/Time-Water) information into consideration? Sleeping facing East direction does not mean that you have the 1-6-6 influence in the sector. Your bedroom sector since you mentioned is located in the West part of the …

Hi Adviser, From one of the free 8 house reports generated from your website, it is stated that Northwill beideal for storeroom or toilets as it's my spook direction. I'm born in rat year. But I read a book that for year 2006, those born in the year of Rat should not have a toilet occupying their north direction, or else career luck is adversely affected. The book states that by placingcrystals or growing plants inside such a toilet will reduce the bad effect. I happened to have a toilet occupying the north of my house. I'm Basically a sagittarian rat. Would like to hear your advice. Thank You. Gummy

As the above link implies: there are many "styles" in Kung Fu and in Feng Shui; there are many concepts not just again : Feng Shui cannot rely only on the Eight House concept. 4. No wonder, drawing a parallel to Kung Fu, one would be beaten to a pulp if one applies one concept only... 5. The same goes, here.. 6. By "hook or by ......
