These are some considerations: 1. In the past, careers were straight-forward. For example, a butcher is a butcher, a merchant is a merchant etc... 2. Nowadays, with both multi-skilling and management studies like strategic planning; Professor Porter's Five Forces to evaluate an industry and core-skills; things have become complicated. 3. In addition, it is often "complicated" by education and education system. 4. For example, in Singapore; our education system in the past, in my opinion is still more of reguritation of facts or reproducing them. And not very good for innovation. 5. And the majority would rely on their education certificate: for example, an accountant woul…

Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: I have purchased a new Chinese Money Frog to replace a damagedMoney Frog that was accidently dropped and got broken. Is there any Chinese protocol that I should follow for the proper disposal (or throwing away) of the old Money Frog? 1. Feng Shui items are not imbued with mystical abilities, including the Money frog, which is considered a marketing ploy and primarily used for aesthetic purposes. 2. These items do not require any specific rituals or protocols to be followed, as they are considered more as art pieces. 3. If you are worried about disposing of them, simply wrap them in old newspapers and discard…

A. COLOUR OF THE MAIN GATE:- 1. Frankly, in my opinion, in modern times; this type of thinking is like "stone age" ideas. 2. For sure, if you are living in Singapore, I can assure that I have literally walked thru so many various landed property estates: in the East, North-East, West, NW, Central/Southetc.. 3. I have yet to come across "multi" coloured in particular: the main gate. 4. I have yet to come across a blood or maroon red main gate nor a blue coloured one nor a bright yellow (unless it is a temple). B. COLOUR OF THE MAIN DOOR:- 5. However, for the main door, yes, colours are considered. 6. Many geomancers in Singapore; felt that Singapore island is in the "so…

Thank you foryour clarifications. Based on your reply,my neighbour'sba gua mirror serves two purposes, mainly protection and wealth. Besides adopting your solutions mentioned in point 8 & 9,are there any other simpler solutions to adopt? There are no conflicts between my family and my neighbours so I do not wish to create ba gua war with them. My intention is just to adopt measures to protect my family if my neighbour's ba gua mirror should create some bad impact on my family. Are there any feng shui items I can placed somewhere near my main door to act as a protection against my neighbour's ba gua mirror? Thank you for your time and hope to receive your reply. Tha…

Attached is an interesting flow-chart of responsibilites... In Asia, it is very common to have the type of flow-chart reflected on the right of this illustration. In Europe or West; the typical Developer works with the Main Architect.

These are some considerations: 1. Yes, in a broad sense, one MAY not go wrong when choosing a Mandarin name UNLESS:- 1.1. One also wants to literally convert or have an identical name in Mandarin. 1.2. Here, some English name(s) when pronounced or translated or phonetic-sound-like some inauspicious Chinese name. 1.3. For example, sometimes names with "flowers" may turned out to be a name associated with a Prostitute den in Mandarin. 2. Otherwise, if you never going to convert or translated your name into Mandarin, then there is no chance that you may get this wrong. 3. Please see attachment. All my brothers, sisters and cousins belonging to the same generation are define…

Thanks for bring this up. I guess it is the use of English. To clarify, you should first find the centre of the house. An example is shown at http://www.geomancy.net/fs/house1.htm. Next, you should use an ordinary compass and stand at the centre of the house. The direction, the main door faces is the direction of the door. At a later date, I will revise the page and `correct' the English so that is is no longer ambigious. Once again, thanks for hightlighting this information. Cecil

HDB Tampines GREENridges & Precinct Pavilions When choosing a stack/unit; some of us often over-look where the precinct pavilions are. Don't get me wrong, one advantage of living at high floors above such a structure may often mean that the views are unblocked. But if one's stack/unit is at low storeys e.g. 2 to 5 storeys high and depending on the distance the precinct pavilons are; one could literally looked into the "activities" if any within these pavilions which on occassions hold a wake (funeral) or two... And worse still if they are held during one's auspicious festive occasions such as the 15 days of Chinese New Year. It is good to …

Dear Mr. Cecil, Thank you very much for your great advise, this will help me a lot. I just want to clarify the following: 1. If I will keep my original layout andjust swap the place of TV and Cabinet, is it okay also toexchange thecomputer/printer with the new location of TV? 2. Also, I just noticed last night that 1/8 part of mybed is overlapping with the window, is this would be a problem or is it okay to retain the location of the bed. I am currently living in Riyadh with my husband and daughter. Here in Riyadh nobody opens their window due to too much dust orthey call it sandstorm. We usually even put heavy duty tape to cover the whole window to avoid single dust ente…

1. In my opinion, what you wrote automatically linked me to the attached illustration. 2. Especially today in Singapore; with so many responsibilities, worries, congestion and putting up with huge population increase (and more are coming).... 3. I for one, would not want to become a "slave" especially to my TOILET! *Sucks*. 4. Well, don't get me wrong. 5. Under the Chinese Holy Trinity of Luck: 5.1. Heaven Luck = born with (ba zi) = 33.3 % 5.2. Earth Luck = Feng Shui of home and office = 33.3% 5.3. Human Luck = Here, feeling good belongs to this category. = 33.4% Total = 100 % 6. Human nature is as such.. If someone gives us a "solution" even if it is a …

Dear Mercury, Further to my earlier reply, I like to share with everyone more on the toilet:- For those of you who had taken the Applied Feng Shui course would have a seen a graphic illustration of what are the bad or inauspicious locations for the toilet. (Besides other inauspicious locations shown in another illustration). If you have observed closely, all the bad or inauspicious locations fall `exactly' on the Eight compass directions. For example, True: North 0 degrees, South 180 degrees, East 90 degrees, West 270 degrees and Cardinal points: North-East e.g. 45degrees, South-East 135 degrees, South-West 225 degrees and North-West 315 degrees. What you can learn here? …

Dear Kieron, Please see below:- -----Original Message----- From: Listmanager To: Recipients of 'free-advice' suppressed suppressed> Date: Saturday, May 01, 1999 7:27 AM Subject: Re: ba gua and pa-kua Let me clarify:- 1. As you have determined the centre of the room, all you need to do is to note the North to South alignment of the house. 2. Here, if you have the Eight House Template Superimpose it on the layout plan. There are lots of examples of how the Eight House Template is superimposed on the layout of your house at http://www.geomancy.net/fs/house2.htm I suggest you go through this module or http://www.geomancy.net/fs/house1.htm first. 3. In a small home, y…
