Thanks for the layout plans. These are some considerations: 1. Common sense : Ideally, the sewerage pipe(s) does not run directly above a stove. As there is a 1 in a million chance that the sewerage pipe may leak or burst sending "chocolate stuff" downwards. That's all. 2. Under symbolism in Feng Shui, best not to have the WC throne directly above the stove. If this is not the case, then phew! 3. For a bedroom above the kitchen; so long as the bed/bed-head is not directly above a stove; this is a plus point. Otherwise, what you have is acceptable. As frankly, there is often no such thing as a perfect home even if one builds it from scratch.

  2. Dear Anon, This recent posting, should help you understand, how to take a compass reading of the "mouth" or facing direction of a home:- - Start - 1. Please goto the conference: Feng Shui Tips and Guidelines. Immediately on the top page of the conference, try to read two articles: Part I Facing direction of a home Part II Facing Direction of a home. 2. More importantly, one need to understand the concept of Flying Star or what is considered as the "mouth" of the house from this article. If so, one can basically apply Flying Star Feng Shui more effectively. 3. And hopefully able to answer your questions, either more convincingly or with conviction. As no two homes a…

Frankly, the ideal choice (if possible) is "If it ain't "broken" don't fix it". If unsure, should always keep it as it is even if it has become greyish i.e. Do nothing.... is the best!

These are some considerations: 1. Most likely when you mention "fame and reputation"; most likely you are not living (or located) anywhere in Asia especially the Far East, Hong Kong and China. 2. Please refer to a recent posting on close to this same subject:- http://forum.geomancy.net/phpforum/article.php?bid=2&fid=1&mid=33736&new= 3. Traditional Authentic Feng Shui does not use such "fixed template" stuffs. 4. If one is in one of the countries as mentioned under Para 1, above; and if a practitioner would bring up "fame and reputation", "courage" etc... That practitioner would close down in a few days - as he/she would be denounced as a "quack".... 4.1. But u…

Dear Steve, There are many form of auspicious numbers:- 1. 666 if you look at it in hokkien is 6 = luck so it is luck luck luck. 2. Some like to go by like 8 (fa - wealth) 3. Another way is by luck number and calcultion based on your gua just as in the example shown in this url:- http://www.geomancy.net/reports/reports-list/perlist-eight-gua-number.htm 4. Some by meaning of the number. 4 may be (die in cantonese), but to the westerners 4 is used by like 4 leave clover which is lucky. So all these really depends on how much you believe. I think you should go for what you feel is good for you. 666 sounds like an auspicious number to me. 5. Probably other ways to improve y…

    1. There are so many other concepts, why only consider: based on the Five Element theory? 2. Some concepts either logically makes no sense under the Five Elements concept or hard to apply strictly based on the such a concept. 3. For example; if a cabinet is made of wood but painted in red. Some consider it as a fire element because say the entier cabinet is in red lacquer. While some other person may argue that it is a wood element as the entire cabinet is really made of wood. 4. Therefore, usually another concept is applied, here. This concept is none other than "Symbolism in Feng Shui". 5. Thus, symbolism looks at the overall picture. For example, it does not matter wh…

Thanks, Cecil. My office is in tower block located at a cross junction. A FS practitioner once advised me that I should locate some of my "aggressive" looking displays in such a way that they face this road junction. This was a sculpture of an eagle, two sculptures of Shiva Nataraja (an Indian deity with multiple hands). I figured the luo pan may have the same effect. Pity though, it is really quite a piece of art and I rather it faces me.

These are some considerations: 1. This only applies to high-rise e.g. an apartment unit. Does not apply to landed-properties. 2. There is no paid report for this. As this report is not widely-used as say the common Flying Star Feng Shui (direction) report. 3. Overall, in general; If this is an apartment: from now to 2023; #7 is "theft or robbery (of wealth) which simply means = missed opportunities" while #5 = misfortune/sickness. 4. Thus overall; the frontage of this apartment (if it is an apartment) is considered generally as "missed opportunities and sickness" Hope that helps

  10. These are some of the considerations: 1. Besides the stove directly facing the kitchen entrance; does it face e.g. the main entrance door or a bedroom door? (It is also inauspicious if it faces an altar) 2. If the stove faces the kitchen entrance ONLY; and for practical reasons, one cannot relocate the stove; then; at least this is not as bad as above Para 1. 3. Thus, what could be worse especially with Para 1. 4. Frankly, for practical reasons, most of us don't always open and close the kitchen door on a daily basis. 5. Furthermore, in a proper Feng Shui audit, the ba zi of the female of the house is looked at in relation to the position of the stove. And sometimes reloc…

Dear Hoa Luong, Hoa Luong wrote: I'm thinking about adding a roof for the building of my business. The roof will be a metal roof painted RED. The building outside walls are a very, very light bluish white. The reason I'm thinking of having a RED roof is because fire (red roof) burns metal (white walls) to produce wealth. Is my reasoning correct? Is there anythingBAD about having a red metal roof? Your concept for the creating wealth is correct. ie Fire burn Metal = Wealth. However, it is a VERY BAD ANDNOT PRACTICALto use a Metal roof for several reasons:- 1. Metal roof will trap heat much faster than normal clay tilesor concrete roofs or glass or wooden roof. This w…

From a Chinese perspective, there are "two concerns" here:- 1. This is more relevant. Three openings especially if they are totally in-line often means wealth coming in and exiting directly. Thus, it is said that money comes and goes out immediately. It is thus good that qi should not be in a direct path especially "leaking" from one side to the other or vice versa. 2. The Chinese belief that "spirits" especially bad spirits can only go in a straight line. Thus, in many instances, you will notice that Chinese platform bridges are always "turning" 90 degrees until it reaches the final span. And equally, landscaping in a garden leading towards a door is often in an "S' cu…

  13. Dear Master, I need advice. What do you think about this floor plan? I don't have enough knowledge about Feng Shui but I know this is not an ideal feng shui floor plan. I just started reading feng shui books 2 months ago. And also our house is right next to a small cemetery. It is an old cemetery & pretty well kept & quite. We have 20 acre land therefore our house is not too close to the graveyards. My husband don't believe in feng shui but I do, are there any remedies for these? Please help! Thank you so much! Dear Anon, In your case, frankly, I would advise you to take up option 2. As you have correctly mentioned, Option 1, especially with the railway line running diagonally behind the office is unfavourable. Option 3 - does not have back support and also not good if one cannot see the door. Overall, do give priority to Shapes and Form Feng Shui - which is Option 2. This is more important than facing your favourable direction. Thus, it is strongly recommended to go for Option 2. You can still consider option 1, but make sure that it is screened out e.g. using blinds. What one cannot see, will no longer remain a threat. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Hi, Colours are secondary to Feng Shui. For example, it is best to get the `basics' correct e.g. to have a good house situated on a good site etc... You can consider colours `nice to have' but not of primary importance. More importantly, choose a colour of the car that you like. I have read that there were some studies conducted (forgot the source) but one study mentioned that bright red cars are prone to accident. One reason is because the colour of the car blend with the brake lights and was not noticeable. This is before many new cars and countries require a third brake light especially at the back glass window or bonnet. So, in the past, it would be " foolish" if one…

Further to what I mentioned, for the House Number for apartments or known as Vertical Flying Star Feng Shui, it is best to note the following: 1. In numerology, there are so many different methods of interpretation. 2. The best use of this House Number for apartments report is basically in chosing apartments within the same block. For example, if it is a new development. And if several floors are still available within the same block. If units #03-xxx, #05-xxx or #12-xxx are still available. Then one can use this report to check which apartment is a better choice. Other than this, as mentioned earlier, there are lots of interpretation and methodology of numerology. And di…

  20. 1. More important consideration is the stove:- http://wiki.geomancy.net/wiki/Kitchen_Stove_%26_More 2. For the oven, it is symbolically important not to let it be seen directly when standing at the main entrance door. 3. If the kitchen has an opening, best that the oven does not face a bedroom door. These two are the most important considerations for an oven. While the stove should be the more important item to be place - first. While the oven is considered as nice-to place and not a must place. Mariola S. wrote: Hello everyone! I am wondering how to place oven in my kitchen.I have a wall in the kitchen (up to 1,1m height) opened to the living room. I am considering…

Dear Anon, I have attached a simple sketch showing in RED, the best areas for activating a mountain stair if it is present. As mentioned earlier, each house is different in layout and in some houses, the back door can be at the kitchen while for others, it is a standalone passage way. The best method is to clearly understand the concept that the mountain star is to enhance the `solid-backing' and not to hinder the frontage by blocking it. Thus for the frontage, it is often suggested that water or clear space is ideal. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Further to what I had mentioned, in modern times ba zi is used to determine compatibility instead of the simplistic Chinese Astrology of "I am a rat. And I am suppose to be compatible to a monkey or a dragon. My worse pairing is with a horse". In this illustration. This person born on 7 February 2014 and born between 5pm to 6.59pm is considered as a weak earth person. And based on the Five elements concept; this person's best pairing is with a person of the "strong fire" element.

Dear Anon, 1. The satellite dish is is a relatively new invention. 2. Frankly, more has to be looked into before proper comments can be made. 3. In my opinion, it is less concern if we term it a `poison arrow' by looking at it's design. Because the `most threatening' look is the centre receiver and it also depends on the design. Most of the time, the centre is circular and rounded (although) it is a `stick'. 4. More concern is the question of whether anything comes close to:- (1.) the "Dangers of underground water". http://www.geomancy.net/fs/under.htm (2.) Handphones, the danger of micro wave http://www.geomancy.net/fs/handphone.htm For certain models of Handphones, ju…
