1. Since the door is facing the staircase, the concept is "if it is not seen it is no longer a threat" applies. Thus, it should be placed such that the staircase is fully or partially blocked. 2. In Singapore weather, the most common - easy to maintain are those from the bamboo family is one of the easiest to upkeep. The yellow bamboo and common straight growing ones are OK. Any other plants so long as they don't have a single trunk would be accepable.

These are some of the common notations on your case:- 1. Check your existing name or change of name: Some go to the extend of checking one's existing "Mandarin" name to see if it would help to benefit a person if there is a change of name or not. Here, I have mentioned that if one does not normally use one's "changed" name, then usually, not very practical to do so. For example, if we have a Christian name: of Christina, changing one's mandarin nameoften does not help in any way. Especially if the universal commerce language is English. 2. Under the Five elements concept, Fire fuels earth. Thus, there are varied interpretations such as going for a fire career or hav…

1. Frankly, applying Numerology is a catch-22 situation. 2. There are so many various methods of Numerology and also some combined it with "phonetic" sound like... "4" Cantonese regard as death etc... 3. There are Chinese methods, Indian methods, and many other cultures also have their methods. 4. Thus, would you want to hear "50-50" of the time, some one telling you this number is BAD! Then later, hear from another it is good! 5. Under the holy trinity of (Chinese) luck:- 5.1 Heaven luck - what one is considered to be born with 5.2 Earth luck - the influence from staying in a home or working in an office. 5.3 Human luck - relationships, family bonding. Thus, the Ch…

Dear Lalita, 1. Never hang a convex mirror and/or a hexagram Ba-gua inside the home. It is considered very inauspicious. 2. Since you have not or may not intend to do a Feng Shui audit, it is still best to leave the current situation alone. In my opinion, as far as I can understand, so long as the staircase has a turning and not a straight staircase, this is considered acceptable -- not perfect, thou. Quote: Lalita L. wrote: I just bought a house. The staircase is in the middle of the house and unfortunately runs into the master bedroom. Is this considered two major leaks? I'm planning to add light on top the staircase and hang a convex mirror and a hexagram Ba-gua on…

1. Some Feng Shui practitioners a have "rigid thinking" which they felt that any apartment BLOCK on "stilts" or standing on legs are no good. Here, some Feng Shui practitioners felt that the entire block is at risk of "loss of wealth". For example, to these Feng Shui practitioners, so long as any property is not on land or on the ground and supported even by levels of car park are considered not good. 2. In Singapore, the Ritz Carlton hotel was "Feng Shuied" and was built on such a column "or void". 3. Again, in Singapore, approximately 80 to 90 percent of Singaporeans live in a Housing Board (HDB apartment). And as…

Mtiger side of the house is higher than the dragon side. What are the possible conseqence of such a case, and what are the remedies to correct this. Thank you very much As you are aware, you are asking a question based on the exterior of your home: Can you physically change or control the exterior? Yes/No? Well, you think about it....

1. Usually indoor plants are often waxy and darker green colour. These are the most suitable indoor plants. 2. There are at least three very common bamboo plants. The advantage of bamboos are that they are very hardy and some varieties grow very well indoors with little maintenance. 3. Symbolically, to the Chinese, bamboo represents "youth" and when combined with some other characters could mean "longevity". 4. So long as the plants does not have thorns; they are generally acceptable although preference is on the porch and often not found in the interior of the home.

1. If Flying Star Feng Shui is applied:- 1.1 If the home is a Period 7: 1984 to 2003 and is a NW1 or NW2 or NW3 home. The water wealth is located at the centre of the home. This type of home, is considered as having "small" luck because the water wealth is "trapped" at the centre of the home. Thus, a water feature can be placed here to bring "small" luck. 1.2 For many new homes built from 2004 to 2023, then the base is #8 and not so advantages to have a water position at the centrepoint of the home. Unless there is moving water flowing from the front to the centre or if the drainage out of the home has been properly looked at from a Feng Shui point of view. 1.3 Many Pe…

In my opinion, there is no "magic" attached to dzi beads. Thus it is not something magical or suppose to be health giving etc... Buying it is like buying any other decorative pieces - but never in the name sake of Feng Shui or cures. Some like it, buy it and are happy over it, that's fine. Australians have their opal mines .. opals... the Chinese (and Mynmar formerly Burma) have their jade. These are more "valuable" assets.. Dear Michelle, 1. It is very common for the type of development you had mentioned not to have a costly basement. In fact, majority of such apartments both in Telok Kurau and many locations in Singapore. 2. The major concern with having a car park right below any apartment unit are: 2.1 Although a fire breaking out i.e. a car on fire is rare, but should a car or van burst into flames, the logic is that fire rises upwards. 2.2 Some Feng Shui practitioners don't like homes that are not "grounded" on the ground.. Such homes are considered as sitting on "stilts" or not on firm ground. Thus for example, homes above a shopping complex or above a carpark to these Feng Shui pr…

Dear Keith, 1. It is good that you do a SEARCH under this forum to find your subject matter. For example, use the SEARCH feature for #5 or Five yellow. 2. There are various combination of star numbers with or without #5. Thus #5 can be combined with either one or both or all of #2, #3, #7 and another #5. Each of these have somewhat slightly different significance. 3. About commercial products: In my opinion, many products that one has purchased usually lines the pocket of the seller. In ancient times, there are no such products. Thus many use "in the name of Feng Shui" to sell this and that product. In my opinion, products are modern invention, mostly toentice us to…

1. In Feng Shui, the kitchen belongs to the lady of the house. The corner where one choose to place a kitchen depends on each individual home. In general, the Eight House chart of the lady of the house is considered, in addition to your first few written lines where possible it should not be at NW etc... The Flying Star chart of each of one of the 15 directions also need to be considered. 2. Thus it is so easy to provide a one liner statement " which corner would you place a kitchen. " Similarly, which corner you place a toilet. The key word is " It Depends!" Quote: Anonymous wrote: I been reading all the message that is not good to have the kitchen in the NW, center…

Dear Anon, 1. The entrance (or main entrance) is considered as very important. As in many instances ; many Feng Shui practitioners consider this as the "mouth" of the house. Thus since this is the "mouth" of the house, it should not leak qi as what you had mentioned .. i.e. a direct path of qi "leaking" out directly towards a window or door. 2. Another consideration is that especially for a landed property, it is very inauspicious to open the main door (or entrance door) and also immediately see the toilet bowl. Or a direct window or opening. 3. Many "acceptable" toilets have at least sharing a wall with the external wall. This is acceptable. Which means that in many c…

Sorry, can you clarify your message. For example, do you mean that your main door has say two panels. Some homes have 1 big door panel with a smaller side panel = 1 door and side panel. This panel is normally not opened all the time. If you have two equal doors, usually one door is not opened. If you have 1 big door panel with a smaller side panel, so long as the lamp post hits this smaller panel, (i.e. this smaller panel faces the lamp post directly) and your main door is "saved" from attack from the lamp post, then, this is fine or OK. As mentioned earlier, I had already listed most of the other common "cures" for the main door.

1. This layout is quite common. Usually, many owners erect a gypsum partition and take the opportunity to place their company logo and (for a business, a reception counter) and for e.g. retail outlet some window displays over this area. 2. As the picture shows that the staircase is quite a distance away from the main door, have such a "screen" as mentioned above, will be fine. Thus if one cannot see it, it no longer becomes a threat. Quote: The main door of my new shop is facing the staircase. What can I do so that it will not affect my business as I can't change the door location as this is rented from the owner.

1. Excluding one's Kua, Period 8, in general, NE1 & SW1 can enjoy sum-of-ten especially if the interior layout is squarish/rectangular shaped. For NE2/3 and/or SW2/3, can benefit from Parent String effect. Both homes should have as much open space if possible especially for the ground level : living/dining area. 2. Drainage out of the plot of a landed property is very important! For example, I have attached two samples:showing the degrees where drainage out of the home should best be located. Sample 1: NE1 Period 8 landed property. Note the specific degrees where drainage MUST exit the property. Sample 2: SW2 Period 8 landed property. Again, where the water or…

1. South is the three killings sector thus avoid any renovations within this sector. 2. If this (South) or any other sectors have; for example flying star numbers like: MS#3 with WS#4 and Base #9, then it would be best to keep that sector "quiet". Thus if one's home and that sector has this then if we need to implement a cure, try not to use "noisy metal like wind chimes etc..." 3. Thus, it is fool-hardy to try to arrange the TV console area each year! Does not make any sense. Especially nowadays, many homes have a feature wall and some even have their TV sets "nailed" to the wall. 4. Thus, if we have fixed our TV sets or unmoveable console, it does not make sense to m…

Dear Spring, Traditional Chinese customs does not have a "Tai Sui" talisman i.e. they are not called Grand Duke nor Tai Sui talisman. However, there are some standard charms to be placed above doors (purpose? To ward off evil). The blessed charms are obtained usually from Taoist priests. Warmest Regards, Cecil

1. To be honest, it is no value to take a compass direction and not use it. The Compass School Feng Shui, is not only about taking a general reading and (full stop). 2. To enhance a sector, or neutralise a sector or problem; the Compass School Feng Shui (especially Flying Star) has both the TOOLs as well as the means to understand each sector. 3. Under Shapes and Forms Feng Shui, a tree trunk should preferably not "slice" thru the main entrance door or window of our home. If it slices the neighbour's -- not our concern... (This is still a poison arrow or sha qi towards that neighbour - not our home). Nancy W. wrote: I have used the compass direction to determine that…
