Dear Anon, Yes, in a global world, there are many practises in relating to "getting" rid of bad luck. Salt is used more widely in the west than the east or Far East. Although we use it to throw into used toilet when we get a re-sale home. So you are not wrong in coming down with using that practise of using salt. Here, in the Far East, our common way of "getting rid" of bad luck is also to get a bathe, first. And afterwards, (we already had prepared say a plastic basin/tub filled with local flowers and a few cut-up lime). So immediately after we had bathed (cleansed) ourselves, we would "flower bathe) by pouring this flower-lime-water onto our heads and let it flow …

Dear Anon, Please see sample attachment. Where there are five family members living in this apartment: Pers1 = male breadwinner Pers2 = his wife Pers3 = his son Dad and Mum Firstly, we need to find out whether each family member(s) are an East or a West group person. In the above sample example, all family members happen to belong to the East Group persons. The breadwinners are Pers1 (Male owner) and Pers2 (Female - wife). As the breadwinners, they sleep in the master bedroom between sectorEast and South-East. In addition, it is nice to point the bed-head facing East which is one of their good sectors. Warmest Regards, Cecil P.S. The attachment shows a samp…

Dear Mary, Please visit this url with forecast for your animal sign:- http://www.geomancy.net/resources/yearly-forecast/fortunes-2008.htm In general, (don't get too unduly worried) as under www.lovesigns.net the animal sign opposite each other are suppose to be the most incompatible of the two. For example, if you were to view the 12 Chinese zodiac signs, the Rat faces the horse directly! However, don't get too much auto-suggestion or self-fulfilling prophecy. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Becky, To be honest, if you are referring to the "House-number" report, it is meant more for high-rise apartments. This house number report is based on "Vertical-flying" Star Feng Shui. As the term "vertical" suggests, it has to do with buildings or apartments on different floors. This method is very popular especially in Hong Kong with high density of population living in flats or condominiums. And it is said that a high rise that is on the 6th floor or storey would differ in qi with another same unit on the lower or even upper floors. Thus, if yours is a landed property, this "House-number" report should not be used. But rather, one should, if one knows how t…

Dear all, Question 1: I am about tomove into an 2000 sq ft office, and found out that the toilet is locatedin the south east corner - the cornerfor prosperity. I wish everyone in the office to prosper... what can I do other than closing the door, keeping the toilet seat down. how about painting the toilet wall green, or changing a brighter lightbulb ? making sense ? Question 2 : my own 100ft room has windows facing north and door facing south, my door is in the same direction of main door, both south-facing. now the south east corner of my own office room is the door opening inward, how can I enhance that corner ? I really wanted to earn a lot of money opening th…

Dear Larry, There are two ways to go about under Feng Shui: 1. By personal feel In general, if you and your family members have "positive" feel about it, I think it is good enough to place these lamps at specific locations. 2. By Flying Star Feng Shui Under Flying Star Feng Shui, in particular; sectors that for example have good "mountain" sectors or sectors that need "fire" would be suitable locations for the lamps that are lighted 24 hours. As light from the lamps represent the fire element. And any sector that lacks fire element can have such a lamp introduced to that location. While the salt lamps is conside…

Location in Conflict is South. - Avoid having renovations done opposite the location in conflict. For 2008, avoid both North and South as mentioned, above. This year 5 yellow also happens to be at South. Thus, especi…

Dear Anon, In a real world situation, lets be practical: in a human situation, there are two main parties involved: the Feng Shui practitioner and their clients. Thus, there will always be different situations: where a Feng Shui practitioner may either practise Feng Shui WITHOUT religion especially if the practitioner is a free-thinker or in the west, some practitioners some how or other may be e.g. a born Catholic or a taoist etc... Even if the practitioner is non "religious" but like you had mentioned, the client has a religion, a good Feng Shui practitioner has to provide advise to both non and religious clients. Especially if the clients "insists" or have an altar…

1. I believe that what you are inquiring about is quite "academic". 2. To be honest, there will be an endless debate regarding the merits of one method over another. 3. In my view, having numerous clients; some of whom have sought earlier consultations with different practitioners and second opinions; I have come across various charts. 4. From my understanding, among the practitioners in Singapore; many utilize the Pie chart method, myself included. 5. Why? 5.1. The Pie chart is particularly well-suited for landed properties, as many of these structures tend to be elongated and rectangular in shape. 5.2. At a glance, the practitioner can iden…

Dear Anon, Frankly, if you DIY one should preferably look at what are the combination of stars in each of the sectors even if the sector has #5:- For example, logically before jumping into conclusions, we need to really find out what is the current 20 Year Flying Star in a specific sector:- E.g. If South sector has #1 with #6 and base #8 . And if #5 fly's in no issue, here. For one, there is #6 = big metal etc... Sensibly just monitor the situation, first. I believe, this forum already has mentioned several types of cures relating to star #5. In terms of colours, try to avoid: BRIGHT YELLOW and if the room has a combination of #5 (earth = bad yellow) fuelled by #9 (f…

Dear Anon, Fundamentally, what is Qi? Qi is invisible and cannot be ordinarily detected by any instrutment (although in Hong Kong, they do sell some of these products purporting to be qi detectors) Anonymous wrote: In my neighbourhood, the Govt has started roof repairs to HDB flats and soon an entire block's external facade will be repainted. Walls of common areas eg corridors, stairwells, lobby, etc will also be given a fresh coat of paint. I will only clarify a few points. As this is not what the purpose of the forum is about. 1. For a Strong wood person, the existing green logo on it's own is considered not suitable for a Strong Wood person. 2. However, a squarish logo represents Earth element. And under the Productive Cycle of the Five Elements concept: Earth supports or help Metal (in particular weak metal grow) 3. In addition, for a Strong Wood person, I don't see what's wrong with using a squarish logo. As Square logo represents Earth. And imagine a strong tree with strong roots; which digs into the earth to get nurishment. 4. Orange under Chinese culture belongs to the metal element. As the phonet…

Dear Amelia, Sorry, not sure what you meant that you should have your dining table at the centrepoint of the home. A dining table need not necessarily be or (must or even nice to have) located at the centrepoint of the home. In many homes: for the living/dining room area: we first need to locate the actual location of the living room. After doing so, the next area to allocate is the dining table.Again, it may not be atthe centrepoint of the home. In Commonsense Approach to Feng Shui, the toilet: Whenever we flush the toilet bowl, minutewater droplets or sprays will fly all over the place. (Usually it containssome germs). Thusif we have the toilet doordirectly facing th…
