Dear Victor, 1. For the layout plan, often, the emphasis is to try to find the `center-of-gravity' of a home. 2. There is really no hard and fast rule as to whether a balcony can or should be excluded. Often, a more important issue is the garage: as this often occupies a larger area and if we take the entire garage into consideration, it may distort the center-of-gravity of a home. 3. For a balcony, it has to be looked into in relation to the entire layout plan. 4. For example, some balcony protrudes on a landed property. If so, often, we should not take this into account. 5. If the balcony is within the fringe of the entire layout plan (or top-view) and it does not see…

1. In my opinion, the biggest mistake of many is that often, missing corners are never over looked while it is often that protrusions are always missed. 2. Thus just try to check to see or confirm the above. 3. Since missing corners may be interpreted differently depending where the missing corner, is. 4. For example. major missing corner at NW may impact on two issues: luck from heaven 2. luck of the breadwinner. 5. Usually if the missing corner makes up to 33.3 percent of the total area, it should be considered as minor missing corner. Thus no further action is needed.

Dear Ashwini, 1. Traditionally, for the Chinese, a better option with a staircase facing the main door is the placement of a convex bagua mirror. 2. Often the semi-circular mat is quite "mild" as compared a mild method to the above. 3. Another method is to add an optional grille gate as shown in the attached. Warmest Regards, Cecil

1. This is a true story: 1.1 Hong Kong Shanghai Bank (HSBC) buiding in Hong Kong was built, first. 1.2 Bank of China's (BOC) building came later. And it is shaped like a Chinese sword. 1.3 To counteract this, HSBC bank shaped it's helicopter pad in the form of a cannon aimed back towards BOC. 1.4 To make the story short, later on, the Cheung Kong center placed two18th century cannons (or twin cannons) against another building. 2. So you want to place a cannon? Even if it is an ornamental cannon, avoid facing inwards of a home. At best, it should be aimed out of the home. If your home has a balcony than "like a goal keeper" aim it out or clear of the home!

Dear Anon, Red is considered an auspicious colour. For example, Chinese wedding invitation cards are in red (usually with a Phoenix and Dragon Graphic/design on the cover). During the Chinese New Year, it is common to find a red cloth banner with auspicious words hung over the main entrance door. Other examples of the use of red include: red fire crackers used during Chinese New Year. Many years back when fire crackers were not banned in Singapore, you will find houses literally littered with the exploded red fire cracker paper all over the compound. In addition, it is common to have the Double Happiness symbol (in red) hung in the house. The "Fu" word with red backgroun…

Dear GY, Yes, it is nice-to-have (not must-have) a date to start work (repainting). And if the gate is changed nearly the same time, then, no need to choose another good day.

Dear Eve, Apologise for the delay. There are many ways to look at this. I am looking at it based on harmony of the people and type of business selected. Actually, this combination of element is ok. 1. Wood Strengthen fire fire will also exhaust some wood Wood is weaken so unable to destroy Earth. 2. Fire gains strengths from Wood, which then provide Earth with more resources strengthen you (weak earth). Normally, when there is a destruction and a production, often the production sequence takes place first. Thus, the destruction process is weaken. Thus, that is the main reason why normally for a Strong Earth, wood is not the best solution, but instead Metal will be mo…

1. In my opinion, your question is still in-complete. 2. For example: the key essence, here should instead be looking into:- 2.1. HEALTH (#2 sickness, #5 misfortune, sickness) 2.2. WEALTH (#3 quarrels, conflicts, lawsuits, #7 lost opportunies "theft" of luck, #5 misfortune etc..) 3. Thus, the most practical approach is to what you said. 4. Of course, if the facing direction has "WEALTH" but if the bedroom has health issues; many people would prefer health, first and foremost. Who don't want wealth. But, without good health how to enjoy wealth peacefully or happilly 5. Instead: I should ask you the question: 5.1. Would you mind good health but not that great in wealth or l…

Hi, Really sorry, but currently there is no ancient written documentation on cars. I think this is quite obvious as cars were not invented then. The only aspect is on whether it is auspicious to travel towards a specific location. If you are moving around your city or community, then this most likely cannot apply. Warmest Regards, Cecil

You cannot simply use Feng Shui for every excuse! For example; it is lame for a barber to say " after cutting your hair, you will have better Feng Shui". What BULL! (bullshit)... Feng Shui is about Earth Luck. Cutting hair and feeling comfortable or feel good has more to do with one's self - man luck or human luck feel good factors.

These are some considerations:- 1. From a Feng Shui point of view: the key essence is " Form prevails over substance " or rather bear this in mind "THE FORMS (Shapes & Forms) DETERMINE THE STARS, THE STARS DETERMINE THE FATE OF THE PEOPLE LIVING IN A HOME." 2. When ever there is a major conflict between Shapes and Forms and the Stars (Compass School of Feng Shui) which includes the Eight House concept; 3. The above statement implies that Shapes and Forms prevail over Flying Star. 4. Why is this relevant to your case? 5. Many of us, after purchasing a home or trying to renovate a bedroom; would often have a preconceived idea of how the layout would be like. 5.1.…

Dear Kem Chong, Please see below:- To `test' whether this is a Sha Qi or poison arrow, try to stand at the main entrance facing out of the house. Is the fire hydrant tangent to your main entrance i.e. slicing the main entrance? If no, then it is not a poison arrow. Especially if it is at one side. Does the storm drain approach your main entrance directly? If not, then this is also not a poison arrow. Perhaps, you can first confirm the above. This should not be an issue especially if (if I read correctly) that both are on different floors. In order to have a direct line, the man entrance should be on the same line of sight as the master bedroom door on the same lev…

Dear Anon, 1. When we consider water, water in a fish tank is usually slower moving. 2. While a fountain, stirs up the water and faster moving. 3. There is no concrete measure as to how beneificial `qi' if any from a fountain or fish tank is. 4. But, based on Feng Shui concepts, because, water movement e.g. water flow, mixed with `air' is more vibrant and faster moving. 5. Based on the `faster' moving water, it is thus recommended that between having a fountain or a fish tank, a fountain would be considered having a higher potential of generating `qi' or stirring of the air, mixed with water. 6. When one talks about a fountain or even an artificial waterfall, it is not …

Dear Vibecke, Vibecke Stensland wrote: We have problems with one of our neighbours. We are located atthe end of a dead end road. Our neighbours are make our life very difficult. We have a big fight with them. What can we do to neutralize this problem. Feng Shui is by no means a miracle cure to all problems, especially not in people to people relationship which is related to Human Luck. In terms of feng shui, areas relating to quarrels/conflict are star 3 in the flying star chart especially near your frontage or main door. If there are any, you can try to reduce it by having Metal to control the sector, or Fire to exhaust the star if there are no Star 2/5. You can use th…

Usually, the most obvious concern of this home is the 'T'junction that you had mentioned. In particular, the most vuneral part of the home is to check whether the main entrance or windows are "exposed" to this 'T'junction. If the main enrnace door or windows are exposed towards the 'T'junction, a cluster of bushes may not be as effective. Usually, the most effective is a "solid" wall or fencing would be better or safer. So long as one does not as yet stay in the new home, anytime of the year is OK to start renovations. However, if one has already moved-in; best for this year to avoid renovations especially at the NW (Grand Duke location which is the main door) and Wes…

Dear Anon, For the Jacuzzi, please take note of the following:- 1. It must not be at the centre-point of the house. 2. One wall of the toilet should share the same wall as the exterior wall. This is to ensure that it cannot be at the centre of the house. 3. If the person's element is Strong Water or Weak Fire, best to avoid owning a jacuuzi. 4. The size of the jacuuzi plus the toilet area must not be equal to the size of the bedroom. The bedroom must be bigger. The jacuuzi must not exceed 33.33 percent of the entire `floor area' of the bedroom plus the toilet together with the jacuzzi. Warmest Regards, Cecl

Even in western numerology 8 is considered a money number, although perhaps too many 8's might indicate greed and domination. 5 is also considered an opportunity number in western numerology. Just thought you might be interested J.D. Listmanager wrote:
