Dear Nawaz Ahmed, Nawaz Ahmed wrote: I want to place fish aquarium with 8 gold fish & 1 black fish in my living room. Which is the best corner position compass direction South-East or North-East? Frankly, this really depends a lot on what stars are present in the South-East or North-East sector of thouse based on the flying star analysis. Make use of the free reports in the member area to determine what stars are present. You should try to determine where is your auspicious water star. If your home is a period 8 house for example, then if you have a water star 8 in the South-East, then you should place the aquarium in that sector compared to North-East. Nawaz Ahm…

Dear Leroy, Many of us have grown up with pets e.g. companion dogs etc... in our home. But in a school environment, we are not allowed to keep them. Frankly, since you are young, and if you really enjoy having a small bowl of fish, usually, there is really no issue in doing so. I believe, it can serve as a stress relief:) Go with what your heart feels:) Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Veraa, 1. In my opinion, it is not adviseable to place any objects (if possible) at the centre-point area of the home especially if it is a fish tank. 2. In your case, it would not be auspicious to see three shadows of knives as (in my opinion) it represents Sha Qi. 3. As for the effect of the three containers, if it is already placed there, you should monitor the situation closely especially for the next month to three months (as the effect would be felt if any during this time). Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Robert Lee Many thanks for your very prompt reply. Really appreciate it. It's make sense to me what you have said. Lately, my husband just put the corals in the filter. Maybe, that was the reason behind the death of the fish. It's original total of the fishes is ten plus a black sucker fish. Now it is nine fishes. If tofollow my husband kua number is 2 suppose to have six fishes. Now, do we have to replace one of the fish or let it be nine fishes? Thank you once again. With warmest regards Sophia Chia

Dear Michelle, Have just read that you have a fish pond at the back of your house,so do i. And i have got to quote a few words here. 1)If your family is goin thru problem, the fish pond behind may not be the only cause. But before drainin the pond.... I think it is best that you get the Flying star and 8 mansion check in your house...or else the pond will be a waste. 2) As far as i know the dragon and tiger concept works with the "FACING" of the house. So whatever behind your house got nothing to do with tiger and dragon. BUT water feature directly behind the house is bad feng shui. My pond is located behind but it is on the left side..So it is not directly behind the hou…

Dear Anon, 1. In several past messages and in my Applied Feng Shui book, I mentioned several "methods" used such as by: 1. Shape of the Fish Tank 2. Number of fishes i.e. based on Kua or Yin and Yang (even or odd number of fishes) 3. Type of fishes etc.. 4. Color of the stand used at different sections of the home Thus, I would like to clarify that usually, I do not `advise' but rather highlight the various practises such as no. of fishes used either to relate to a person's Kua number. There are `pro and cons' in using various methods. For the no. of fishes, I had on a few occasions mentioned what happened if one's Kua number is 1. Does it mean that one has to resort to t…

Dear Kenneth, Yes, contrary to popular believe, a fish tank may not necessarily be good for everyone or in a home or in a specific location. Frankly, there are several key considerations in Feng Shui. For example, some of them may be "technical":- 1. What is your true element orstrength (Ba Zi) A weak fire person or a strong water person or a weak metal person? If one belongs to any of these elements, it is not very favourable to place water position inside the home. 2. Flying Star Feng Shui Under this compass school Feng Shui, each sector is said to have a combination of elements e.g. : Mountain star (MS) , Water star (WS), base star. (And even the yearly and mont…

Dear Rae, 1. I am glad that your fish is getting well. 2. Frankly, I am no expert on fishes /fish tank. Perhaps, I feel that (my guess) that it could be that there is high level of oxigent content in the fish tank. 3. Since everything is OK even with the green algae, try to monitor the situation. Let me relate to you an incident: 4. Many years ago, one of my friends related to me that their home (landed property) had a orange (clay) roof. After sometime, because of the fallen leaves on it, parts of the roof turned/covered with greenish material. At the time when the roof started to turn greenish, it seems that luck began to pour into their home i.e. his father was lucky i…

Dear Master Lee, Many thanks for your fast and most helpful response. Regards, Soh Peter Yes, the centrepoint shown is correct. 2) I have a fish tank with 8 gold and 1 black fish. Is the fish tank shown at the right location? If not, where is the best location? Locally, some Feng Shui practitioners often recommend that if there is a fish tank, it is often placed; close to the main entrance door. As shown under the attachment Marking A under the file: fishtank.jpg (This is strictly looked at only from a Shapes and Forms Feng Shui. Sometimes, the practitioner may recommend placing it at Marking B (in the living room or around this area). Please note that often, the abov…

1. Placement of a fish tank can be both (1)scientific &/or (2) based on Yin and Yang concepts; &/or (3) Shapes and Forms and lastly by personal feel or even trial and error Feng Shui. 2. Recently, someone also asked whether their placement is correct. Thus if it purely on a SCIENTIFIC way, then I have mentioned that one has to apply things like Flying Star Feng Shui. Check whether the water star #8 or alternatively the water star #1 is in the "right place". Right place is an appropriate location especially in the living room. 3. Even if the water star e.g. WS#8 is located in a bedroom, many would feed awkward having a fish tank with fishes looking at you when y…

Dear Raju, For a person who is a `weak earth', a water position such as a fish tank is neutral to your element. Here are some guidelines to the placement of a fish tank: 1. One method is to use the Flying Star to analyse each sector of the house for imbalances. 2. If one does not want to use method 2, then, the most common method is: 2.1 Shapes and Forms The fish tank can be placed in the living room or a private room. Avoid placing it in a study room as it may be distract the person studying in the room. 2.2 One School of Feng Shui feels that the stand of the fish stand should match the location e.g. a black stand at the North; a Green or Brown stand at the East etc... …

Shared wealth 1. Traditionally, Feng Shui is used at a macro level. This is where, locations of cities were found and where possible, it can become a vibrant and prosperous city. Of course there are some not so lucky people but generally, people of that city are overall "healthy and wealthy". 2. In the same light, today, plots of land are looked at in terms of the dragon vein and the harmony between the tiger and dragon. 3. It reasons that, collectively, the residents and neigbhours can enjoy prosperity. If a site is auspicious or good, the `goodness' of the surrounding can add further `goodness' to your home. This is a WIN-WIN situation. 4. For example, in one of the mes…

Dear Anon, In my opinion, the main issue is related to where the fish tank is placed. If it is close to the centre-point of the house, this is highly inauspicious. Frankly, so far, I have not commonly seen a fish tank facing the bedroom. If you can, try to see if there is a better place e.g. in the living room area if possible. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, It should not pose a problem for a fish tank to be directly opposite the main door. However, do check that it is not at the centrepoint of the house. Thanks. Cecil

Hi Angie, Anonymous wrote: Can I place a Fish Tank infront of the house main door? And it is theside of the fish tank facingthe main door. I believe that there is definately no issue in how you place your fish tank as long as the corners of the fish tankdoes not create a poison arrow or sha qi against other key areas in your home. As to whether it is auspicious to place it at your main door area of the home, then you will need to check with like the flying star analysis of your home to see if the stars present are suitable for having a fish tank. Such as if there is a water star 8, then yes most probably it will be an auspicious wealth sector. However, if it is a auspic…

Dear Gavin, Gavin Loe wrote: Can anyone please give some advise on the ideal location/facing for placing a fish tank with 8 gold & 1 black gold fish? Generally, the best position to place water feature is where there is an auspicious water star 8 present in that sector. You need to check out the flying star analysis of your home using our free reports on the website to determine which would be the best sector in the home which will benefit from a fish tank/water feature. If you do not look at these information, then usually the best place to place a fish tank or water feature is at the living room/balcony area which is often considered an open space. This is one ar…

If one does not want to apply or has no means to apply say the Flying Star Feng Shui: "Can I place a water feature at location marked as X?". Then have to go by Trial and Error Type of Feng Shui. The most logical choice is to apply the concept, that I had coined many years back called " The Customer Service Engineer " Effect. This concept credits the way IBM Customer Service Engineer trouble-shoots "problems". Check out this "ancient" link and the term "Customer Service Engineer" .... http://forum.geomancy.net/phpforum/article.php?bid=2&fid=6&mid=2736&new=

These are some considerations:- 1. In traditional Feng Shui, a standard sized fish tank e.g. 4ft by 2f is placed at the window often if there is an external arrow such as a lone lamp post directly facing that window. 2. In theory and on paper, a fish tank or even a fish bowl can be used under Flying Star to help reduce the 5 2 9 sector. 2.1. However, where possible, such a fish tank should only be placed in "open spaces" e.g. such as a living room and not within a room e.g. bedroom. 2.2. Usually, with such 5 2 9 sector, expect a higher incidence of the fishes sacrificing themselves for YOU. Anonymous wrote: Dear Mr Cecil, We've placed a small fish tank on our bay window …

Dear Sio Cheng, 1. It is not advisable to place a fish tank in a bedroom based usually on `commonsense approach' be it Feng Shui or otherwise: 1. As a bedroom is usually suppose to be a place of rest or `yin location'. 2. The other situation is that if the bedroom is not well ventilated, a medium sized fish tank may need e.g. weekly cleaning or maintenance - depending on the type of food given to the fish -- where the fish tank may need to be cleaned. Since you are only placing a small fish tank, perhaps, more like a bowl, there should not be much of a problem. If it is well maintained - clean and not much `fishy' smell coming from it. Warmest Regards, Cecil

I haveencased myfish tank ina partition wall between my living and dining room. This means SE of the living room and SW of dining room. Using the five element theory, water in SE is productive but not so if placed in the SW. Is that right? Please advise if I need to put a screen to 'close up" (visually) the fish tank in the dining room. Thank you very much.

Dear Weimin, Weimin Tu wrote: hi there =) im 17 this year and i have 2 small fish tanks in my room by the window. Well, i heard from people that having a fish tank in the room is not good for feng shui. are they right? because i like my fishes and i don't know where elseto place them. Not advisable. As in the previous post, the bedroom is should be quiet. The more scientific reason would be the water in the fish tank tends to have a certain type of fishy smell, plus depending on the fish some fish may make noise so that is becomes noisy. These two will not be good for a good nice rest. As such, fish tank is best place in non-bedroom (it study room ok but not bedroom fo…

Dear Nisha, It is understandable, when you mentioned that you are only a tenant and would like to have many of your favourite things in your bedroom. Yes, I do encourage you to make first and foremost your room as comfortable with all your favourite things! It does not matter if there are fishes. But, it brings you both pleasure and comfort - GO FOR IT! The logic here is based on this understanding: 1. Often, many good FS practitioners will stick to or advise their clients on the Holy Trinity of Feng Shui: 1.1 Heaven Luck - what is given to us 1.2 Earth Luck - our abode / work place 1.3 Human Luck - what brings us happiness:) Sometimes, for some, we have limited earth luc…
