  1. For practical reasons, nowadays in modern times, we should not be too concerned with which direction one is moving. For example, if you have to move in the east direction, one has to move to that direction! Our free auspicious dates are for the next 30 days at: http://dates.geomancy.net

Hi, Frankly, this is usually considered "too insignificant" to be considered under Feng Shui i.e. the influence is " minute " to be of `great' concern. It is equivalent to the notion that there is an Imperial measurement or Feng Shui ruler yet, many Feng Shui practioners feel that in our real world, it is really quite impossible for most of us to purchase tailor made furniture e.g. tables. Although under Feng Shui influence, one should make furniture that has auspicious dimensions. So what should we do if we want to buy furniture? Many practical Feng Shui practioners will say " go with your feelings ". For more info go to this url : http://www.geomancy.net/fs/ruler.htm T…

Dear Anon, I am not sure if anyone have heard of the Show `Kung Fu' starring David Carradine (I hope I spent his name correctly). In this show, or a series of TV episodes, he is also called the `grass hopper'. In one episode, he had to use his arm to hold up the buring cauldron. When he did this, his left hand was burned with the profile of the dragon and his right arm the profile of a tiger. Usually, these `monks' wear a robe and the markings of the dragon and tiger are not shown. For a dragon ring, it is in my opinion a small object and secondly it usually does not point towards the person. Anyway, it does not really matter being a small object. Looking at it another…

Dear Dragana, Yes, I do agree with you. It is not wise to convert it to a sewerage tank especially if it is at the front of the home even if it is underground. More importantly, it is also best not to have sewerage pipes running under "living areas" such as under the bed. One can view this article that I had written many years back on the dangers ...http://www.geomancy.net/resources/art/art-under.htm In my opinion, keeping it as a water tank would definitely be a better choice Warmest Regards, Cecil

  7. These are some considerations:- 1. Yes, too limited information. Usually, a Flying Star chart is plotted to determine what flying star numbers are within that sector especially for your home & it is also good to check what flying star numbers are at the neighbour's main door area (also). 2. A blessing is that hopefully; no one places things like ba gua mirrors on either main door which can result in a "ba gua war". 3. Last resort is like many; "slam-shut" the main door = minimal interaction with a neighbour.

These are some considerations: 1. Under the Chinese system; some consider one's Gua/kua no. as the lucky no. Find out your Gua (Kua) Number? 2. And under ba zi; there is also one's favourable(plus wealth colours)and unfavourable colours.Find out you Personal Element? On the other hand; if one dwells into numerology; there are at least a few hundred formulas and methods as well as some astrologers use cards; some use birds or other animals to pick numbers for you. Thus, since there are so many numerology formulas and methods; the saying goes: "One man's meat is another man's poison". The outcome couldin a law of averages come up to 50-50 percent ...or none at all.

Dear Elena, 1. You can also check out my write-up today: two parts: Part I & Part II : Facing direction of a home. 2.Under the above article, since your is a landed property, try to also determine the "Mouth-of-the-house" or generally where is the frontage of your home. 3. In your case, and based on your description, it would seem that your home facing direction could be the South as you had mentioned. 4. It does not matter if your front door or garage is at the north. 5. Often, especially for homes that suit your current description, and if there is a large lake, where the south side overlooks such a water feature or clear space then, there is even a clearer di…

    1. Usually, the most visual concern is that of the visible roof and spine of the church. Usually the spine is usually the christian cross signage. 2. Here, the most common issue is if one were to stand in the apartment and can see the pointed roof or the spine, then this could be a sha qi. 3. Sometimes, even the roof of the house next to the church or if it has a tv antennae pose a threat; not to say that only the church may pose a threat.

These are some considerations: 1. No offence to the person posting this question. 2. My answer is: Only Singaporeans can think of such questions. 3. Perhaps, this is why we have our singlish: Kiasu and Kiasee. 4. Singaporeans, please read between the lines.. and I hope you are not that Kiasee, OK? P.S. a. The only other character that is close to Singaporean's K-su and K-see attitude is Rowan A. as Mr Bean in many of his delightful comedies... b. 16. Dear Anon, In Feng Shui, this is known as the `coffin' position. This is actually where a dead person was brought home into the home and his/her dead body would face a door. (Really to be carried away) when the funeral possession starts. This is not exactly an `exciting' location to be in. Warmest Regars, Cecil

Respected Sir, Thank you for your reply.I apologise for not being clear in my query. My question is that is there any significance of same level of flooring in all the sectors i.e it is harmful to have any sector higher floor level than other sectors &if this is the case at the back of the house where the main door is also located what are the remedies.Further if correcting beams in particular sectors with false ceiling has left these sectors with lower ceiling height as compared with areas without beams,it it harmful & what are the solution for this.

Dear Anon, 1. The reason why some FS Practitioners say to palce it in the good sector is so that when it rings, it is suppose to bring `good luck'. Unfortunately, there are others who have the view point that the `ringing' at a good sector `chase' away good luck. 2. Some on the other hand advise to place as what you had mentioned, West and NW because these are metal element sectors. To these practitioners, they `feel' that as the West and NW are metal element sectors, one should enhance the metal element with `rining' tones as to them the ringing tone is metal element. Similarly, to these FS practitioners wind chimes and even clocks with pendulum serves this purpose. 3. …

    1. Further to what I mentioned earlier, it is always good to exercise moderation when applying Feng Shui. 2. It should not be a case where we turn our lives `upside' down trying to `fit' ourselves to meet FS standards. But rather, we should exercise moderation, when applying Feng Shui. 3. Many of us, read widely about the `Do's and Don'ts' of FS. For many people, they simply carry on with their daily lifes after applying some of the best FS practises. 4. If we take FS `too seriously' it results in only the equivalent of trying to do "interior decoration" to our home or control our lives. Warmest Regards, Cecil

These are some of the considerations:- 1. A partition need not necessarily be "air-tight". Many acceptable partitions have see through design. 2. Often it is considered not to use reflective glass facing the main door for two reasons:- 2.1. Symbolically, if the glass is highly reflective and facing the main door; one may inadvertently "reflect one's weath" out of the main door. 2.2. For some, when opening the door, one can see one's reflection (shadow) on the partition and some may think that there is "someone" in the apartment. 2.3. Often, some may use sand-blasted or opaque film at the main door side. While the inner side can still be a reflective surface. 3. For asthet…

  23. Dear Niki, In my opinion, it is good to hear that your house has good Feng Shui in many areas. The door (especially bedroom door[s]) should not be moved unless they do not `adhere' to shapes and form Feng Shui. Although it would be nice to had an added bonus of having good `Eight house' fit for everyone; usually this may not be the case. The main consideration is still on the sitting of the bed based on good Shapes and Form techniques. If a house has excellent Feng Shui, it would give a significant leap (or quantum leap) in Feng Shui and would have added more than 50 percent or more `luck' towards the residents of the house. It is good to move in; (and if you are not goin…
