Dear Anon, Can I check with you whether are the 2 rectangular chimneys (tangent) or if you stand at the window, and looking out directly, (without looking sideways) can you see the two rectangular chimneys? Usually, if you are in doubt, one can use the curtains (but if it is too dark) then use window blinds. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, Please see below:- 30 Jan 1968 to 16 Feb 1969 = Earth Monkey 17 Feb 1969 to 5 Feb 1970 = Earth Rooster Here you will find that your sister is `still' considered an Earth Monkey. In 1969 Chinese New Year falls on 17 Feb 1969 and only on or after this date is your sister considered a Rooster. In my opinion, one has to be `cautious when reading books that merely list only the Year and makes no reference to the start and end date. You can visit: www.lovesigns.net at:- http://www.geomancy.net/love/a60-80.htm The above site lists the Chinese New Year dates correctly. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, In Feng Shui, there is really no quick fix solutions. Feng Shui is only about our Earth Luck. But, under Feng Shui one can try to `influence' or have a balance in our Earth Luck. Pillars of Destiny is used to map our heaven luck and by understanding our Pillars of Destiny, some say that we can change 60 percent of it to our advantage. In your case, if you are doing it yourself and not enaging a Feng Shui consultant, then you must: 1. Understand the Shapes and Form School and try to apply it to your home. 2. Under the compass school of Feng Shui, check whether how suitable your house is to you and your family. Check particularly the main entrance (for the breadw…

    Started by Guest,

Dear Carrie, Under the Eight House Theory, as the compass directiors are sub-divided into 8 sectors, it is best that the toilet bowl is not located directly at the exact South-East compass degree. Under the Flying Star Theory, the compass directions are sub-divided into 24 directions. Again, it is best that the toilet bowl does not fall within any of the compass 15 degree increments starting from 0 degrees, 15 degrees, 30 degrees.. etc... There are two viewpoints with regards to the toilet:- 1. Majority of the practioners felt that this is a `Yin' location. 2. Some view it as a location where water `exists' in a house. And water is akin to a waterposition in the house. U…

  5. Started by sun888_99,

Dear Anon, Based on symbolism in Feng Shui, in my opinion, boxed beds are not considered `inauspicious': 1. It is still considered a `whole' bed i.e. it is not spilt up ned together (two single bed). Not "split up" even if it has two layers. 2. There should not be an issue on whether the bed should have a gap below it. This is because in many countires e.g. Japan, usually sleep even on tatami mats on the floor. 3. It is good to have paqua flooring or "wooden" flooring. This is because ceramic tiles or marble etc.. is `cold' to the feet. 4. Some worry that because of springs in the box beds, this is considered inauspicious. But, I personally believe that there should not b…

Dear Kamariah, Since you are in Malaysia, it is easier for you to find a Feng Shui consultant as I believe there are quite alot in the country. Here, you can get the consultant to provide you a package fee i.e. from helping you to select a plot of land and to do a full Feng Shui audit on the selected unit. Warmest Regards, Cecil

  7. Started by bercardor,

Dear anon, Why don't you look at the sample of the good houses. It is the flying star chart. It will give you a rough idea of what to expect and then you can do a flying chart of your house and it will tell you the exact location where this star falls in your house and it will tell you how to neutralize it according to your pillar. Good luck!

  8. Dear Anon, Please see below:- The best `cure' is to see if you can have a screen behind your bedroom door or place a linen cupboard before entering the door. A potted plant can be used but in my opinion less effective for a `C' configuration. However, you can try to see if can help. As you can always remove the plant afterwards. Another method is to place a semi-circular mat facing away from the bedroom door and `cutting' or `slicing' the steps of the staircase leading to the room. Do try the above out. Warmest Regards, Cecil

  9. Dear Anon, Yes, this is the case. For example, at the main entrance area, where one can activate the water star, i.e. clear space in-front. One cannot possible activate a mountain star at this location. The logic is the same e.g. in the living room where one should not activate a mountain star. If there is a wall and a mountain star is `available' one cannot activate a mountain star and a water star. Warmest Regards, Cecil

  10. Started by tpastud,

Dear Michael, Grateful if you can let me know whether the beam is wooden / metal or concrete. Warmest Regards, Cecil

  11. Dear Anon, Please take note that a mountain star must be an immovable object. The globe should not rotate even if it has a `stable' base holder. It is good to `visualise' that ideally it has to be a solid immovable object. Warmest Regards, Cecil

  12. Started by Mercury,

Dear Mercury, Please do a SEARCH for fish tank. I believe, there are numerous references in this forum where I had provided advice on what to look out for -- a fish tank. You should not have a problem finding or reading in detail what are the do's and don'ts here. Warmest Regards, Cecil

  13. Dear Anon, Here, there are several view-points: 1. Some Feng Shui practioners will `insist' that one should use an immovable object rather than a picture. 2. Some Feng Shui practioners will advise you that one can hang pictures but watch what you hang. Under para 2, the advise is to hang a picture of a mountain scene. Excellent examples are: a picture of Mount Fuji in Japan or the Himalayas. Scenes such as this. Where best, avoid pictures of water scenes such as fountain, fishes swimming. Other alternatives are calligraphy works or pictures of Chinese paintings with a backdrop of a mountain / village scene are acceptable. Warmest Regards, Cecil

  14. Started by tpastud,

Dear Michael, Since you mentioned that almost the entire house has overhead beams; it is thus impractical to place `cures' at all beams, in your situation, you can:- 1. Above the bed location, use 6 ancient Chinese coins tied to a beam. Here, the 6 coins can be used on only one beam to symbollically cover 3 beams. Therefore, you do not need to place 6 ancient Chinese coins at every beam but one immediately above the bed. 2. Using the above guideline, you can place 6 coins at certain locations that you or your family frequent. For example if the sofa set happens to be directly below a beam, than place one set of 6 coins. 3. Where possible confine placing the coins only e.…

  15. Started by syeung,

Dear Sandra, There are two issues here: 1. A mirror facing a window. 2. Whether the wall or the location around the wall is auspicious or inauspicous. Usually, it is best not to have a mirror facing a window. But this depends on how far away the mirror is. The rationale behind this is that if this is the frontage of your house, it is best to allow natural lighting flow into the house. If there are poison arrows outside the house, it would most likely reflect into the house onto the mirror and cause `twice' the problem as a mirror image has been created within the house. If it happens to be an inauspicious sector under Flying Star analysis, you will bounce back twice the `…

  16. Started by syeung,

Dear Sandra, Usually, the main entrance door is the door: 1. Where you have your unit number on. 2. It can also be the door you frequently use. In your case, since you use the door at the "East facing" frequently, this should be considered your main entrance door. What you can do is to check which door is more auspicious to you. The east facing or the North door. Warmest Regards, Cecil

  17. Started by sun888_99,

Dear Anon, Usually, the "sunken" part or the lower level can be the living room. Quite often, many houses have `split-levels where there are steps leading up to the dining room. Here, it is acceptable for the living room to be at the lower level. Usually, this lower level is level to the house exterior or slightly raised up. Warmest Regards, Cecil

  18. Started by sun888_99,

Dear Anon, There are differing views on this: 1. Some FS practioners find it inauspicious to have the face of the clock face into the living room. Here, it is similar to the concept where it is advisable not to have a clock `face out' of the living room window. It is acceptable if the clock is `meant' to bounce an inauspicious poison arrow. 2. As a clock tower is a narrow tower, and if in a child's room, it is located on the right side of the window, this is considered "penmanship" peak where it is auspicious as this represents a child can become a scholar. Warmest Regards, Cecil

  19. Started by elena,

Dear Elena, Grateful, if you can clarify: 1. "My front door opens to a wall". Does it mean that there is a small open space outside your front entrance area. Where is the fish tank going to be placed in relation to the door. 2. What is the shape of the fish tank. 3. Does it exceed 33.3 percent of the study room area or just small tank. 4. Can you let me have the flying star numbers for the main entrance and the study room. 5. Where best, the breadwinner should not have the element: strong water or weak fire element. 6. If you are standing at the main entrance, looking outside, the fish tank should not be at the right side of house. Warmest Regards, Cecil

  20. Started by hcherbal,

Dear Berth, It is best to attach a graphic file under the conference: " Conference for Attaching Layout " as this is easier to look and understand your situation. By the way, you mentioned that the `west' wall has an entrance but no doors. Does it mean that your bedroom does not have any doors. Thanks and looking forward to your layout sketch of the bedroom. Cecil

  21. Dear Cheui May, 1. 1. As you mentioned, you should use curtains on the large sliding glass back door. 2. Is there a way to place two potted plants on both sides of the steps or at the landing area? 3. Can you draw a simple sketch of the triangle-shaped area or the room you are using now? It is best if the bedroom, kitchen, and living room do not have an odd shape. Warmest Regards, Cecil

  22. Started by zaza,

Dear Asucena, The `cure' depends on the element of the beam. If the beam is a wooden beam, it is best to tie 6 Chinese copper coins together and hang it on the beam. Here 6 Chinese copper (metal) coins represent `Big metal'. This is where metal destroys / neutralises wood (the wooden beam). If the beam is made of concrete, you can hang two wooden bambo flutes as follows: ------------- / \ flute flute You will notice that the flute forms the profile of the top of the Ba Gua or Trigram. Dear Anon, It is best to avoid Death / Disaster which are the worst cases. As for the ranking of Spook / Irritation, these are inauspicious. Frankly, one need not need to find a weightage of which is the worst or not too bad based on a ranking system. What matters most is to try to avoid the most inaupicious : Death / Disaster. While Spook / Irritation is considered inauspicious. Looking at it in another way, all the four auspicious sectors e.g. Prosperity, Longevity etc.. are considered auspicious. Is there a purpose to rank them? The issue here is to try to avoid " Death / Disaster " as far as possible. While Spook and Irritation ... are inauspicious. Warmest Regards, C…

  24. Started by syeung,

Dear Sandra, Since you cannot do much in terms of furniture layout, you can consider placing a display small dragon (can be made of glass or other materials) to aim it directly at the edge (or tangent) to the edge of the cabinet. This is a mild form of cure. Other alternatives include placing a fork aimed at the edge or a small toy cannon. I believe you should be able to place e.g. the dragon on the edge of the table such that it can be aimed at the edge and not aimed at your body. I hope this is achievable. If you are unable to have a straight path between e.g. the dragon and the edge of the cabinet, then, it is best not to place one on the table. (If it can `hit' you.)…

Dear AA, There are certain things in life you cant demand. Love is one of them. If you are destined to find love now or in 2000 depends on your heaven luck. I know you have tried every thing possible to find one (that is your man luck). So why don't you do a pillar of destiny chart and see what is in store for you now and also in 2000 and then if they are favorable then you will find love. Good luck. Anon
