Dear Cecil, Thanks for your reply. I have 2 more questions: 1. What are the most important evil stars? Are both star 2 & 5 we should always watch out? 2. If both living room & dining room are covered by 3 sectors. How can we apply the cure effectively? Will the cure interfere with stars in other sections? Looking forward to your reply. Huu

1.1 For your convenience, you may like to go thru some of these links:- 1.2 This link has detailed resources of what makes a good water feature as well as an understanding of many of the issues with a water feature:- http://wiki.geomancy.net/wiki/What_makes_a_good_Water_feature/_fountain 2. Often, if a water feature has been placed at the wrong location, it may lead to roving eyes of either one of the partner. (Flower of romace or illicit relationship). The correction is as follows:- http://wiki.geomancy.net/wiki/Roving_Eyes_or_Infidelity

Dear Anon, In general, overall, it is said that the Rat would not have as good year in the Year of the Horse. Chinese Astrology, frankly (in my opinion) is too simplistic as many take into account only the YEAR of birth. Posters are man-made. Perhaps, it is to encourage the offering of prayers (with or without substance) - erh..my opinion only. Perhaps, to me, I draw a parallel to a poster that says " Brushing teeth to prevent decay ". And children in school do so together. Frankly, I do not see any harm since physcially at home; Grand Duke has not been distrubed or touched in any way. Warmest Regards, Cecil

This are some considerations: 1. In today's real world, real people, real careers; be prepared to have such things like what you mentioned not purely belonging to just one element but can also most likely represent : especially TWO or (even more) elements. 2. Thus, the old mindset of: sloting an industry into only ONE single element is "history". 3. Especially if one has some knowledge or look at a guide and figure out that this industry may belong to two elements. Does it sound reasonable? If so, you have your answer! 4. Thus in my opinion, to me, also, what you wrote sounds reasonable. 5. The term multi-tasking is common place today. So is the term: multi-skilling: wher…

Dear Co Huynh, 1. If you are a weak metal person, the element that can give you a significant boost is earth. 2. Water element does not benefit you under Ba Zi. 3. Please note that water position in the wrong location of a house can affect one's marriage and even wealth. 4. Usually, it is best not to use water in the back of the house as most of the time it is inauspicious. 5. The most effective use of water is still at the frontage of the house or using Flying Star Feng Shui to detect metal positions:- 5.1 The most beneficial way to activate water dragon is to locate #7 (weak metal) and #6 (strong metal). Under the Five elements concept, metal supports water. This is a …

Dear All, 1. Please note that this is not Feng Shui. 2. However, this is one of favourite movies that has a good story, casts and significance/meaning to life. An inspirational show that includes Steven Segal (but briefly) 3. I searched yahoo.com and came up with a site that has a review of the show "Executive decision " by Warner Bros. There is a review at this site of this movie (DVD version):- http://www.all-reviews.com/videos-2/executive-decision.htm Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, Please see below: 2. But if you are a strong fire person, then water would be a better alternative as it helps `cool' down the strong fire. If wood is used, it would further increase your strong fire resulting in health or competition at work. A small plant would normally make little impact. This should be ok. Generally, this is more towards `belief' than Feng Shui. It should normally be ok. This would be considered `inauspicious' in Feng Shui. On one hand, it does look like a overhead beam. The other (not FS), is to check how secure it is. Under Chinese beliefs, it is not so much of one wearing old clothes but rather, avoid wearing torn …

In the selected sector, please advise where the knobs of the stove should be. Thanks. I can only give you some of these general guidelines as which is the best placement depends on the layout of the kitchen as well as the various people livingin the house (especially the person cooking for the family). 1. It is best to face the kitchen stove in the position that the person cooking most in the family will benefit from. This means that the direction should be best facing one of the 4 good directions of that person. If you a…

Thanks for the response. I plan on putting the tree in the corner of the yard away form the house not in direct view of the door or window. I understand that if you take care of the tree it will take care of you it is a matter of time. Can you enlighten me more on the subject. -- GLENETTA SOLOMON More importantly, when planting a tree, avoid having it slice thru-into any of the windows of the home or the main door. A test of this is to stand inside the home i.e. at the window looking out or the main door. The lone tree should not be in direct view of either of the windows or main door. If not, it ends up as a threat to the home. Warmest Regards, Cecil Copyright …

    1. In my opinion, what you described is pretty common - apartment basements in some parts of NY city. 2. Commonsense Feng Shui:- 2.1. In some low lying countries; the main concern is that for such apartments; is - if there is sudden flooding i.e. where the nearby drains leading to the sea got clogged and or due to sudden heavey downpour in the Tropics. 2.2. Commsense Feng Shui is about making sure that the home is reasonably neat and tidy and : "clear space" is very common word to use, here. 2.3. Being in the basement; it is still good to ocassionaly "air" the home e.g. good to once a while - especially after a down pour to let outside air circulate within the hom…

Dear Anon, Please see below:- It is common for your home and many other homes to have a shoe rack conveniently located as mentioned by you. We have to be realistic in the way we apply Feng Shui. A shoe rack e.g. at the front of the house is `secondary' to Feng Shui. More importantly, we need to score as many marks or points as possible in other more important areas. For example, if one has good shapes and form Feng Shui, this would bring up our `luck' in other areas and things like placement of shoe rack is less important issue. It is good that the inner door e.g. we call this the actual door should open inwards. As for the grille gate, there should not be an issu…

Hi Mr Cecil My personal office door is directly facing (about 2m away) a toilet door & a storeroom door, since the toilet door & storeroom door is just side by side. My office which is located in the west sector has a window facing west, has double #8 star & #1 star, while the toilet has #7 & #2 bad stars. What should I do to ward off the negative effect of facingthe toilet door &storeroom door? Thanks very much Paul

  16. Hi Cecil Happen to surf yr web and read it with interests. Bought EC Bishan Loft in Yr 2001 and recently TOP in mid Oct. I am a North West Man and my main door is facing North East which falls in the 4 good directions. Except that my master bedroom and two other bedrooms are getting the afternoon sun. My block is 33 and Unit is #11-07, according to your Number theory #11-07 does not seem to be very auspicious. Secondly, since my unit is #11-07, does that mean I have to move in period 7. Please advice. Thanks you.

Dear Tonja, Based on the many cases we have found: 1. Some people are `ok' with having mirrors even in the bedroom i.e. they can sleep comfortably. In such cases and if one do not want to do anything, this is generally acceptable. 2. For others, they may have problems with their sleep or want to avoid having mirrored closets, I have offered a few suggestions in this forum. Some of the suggestions are: 1. You can place posters (stick) them on the closet doors. Usually, this is a `temporary' solution as you may need to replace either the posters or if the stickers drop or sag, you need to `renew' the posters. 2. You can purchase an opaque film or ask a contractor to place s…

  20. Dear Anon, In my opinion, I find it quite difficult to answer such a question because there are quite alot of reasons or significance for someone to come up with a logo. For example, to me, feather pen and ink pot reminds me of a scholarly person or a shop dealing in e.g. stationery such as a book store or gift shop. There will always be millions of logo designs and it is up to the individual to see and try to guess what they think it is like. More importantly, an easier method is for one to find out their element, better still the strength of their element and using the Five Elements concept i.e. Productive and Destructive sequence to come up with their logo. For example…

Dear Anon, 1. Often, it is preferred not to have a mirror facing an open window or at the side of an open window - (based on "commonsense" approach to Feng Shui. 2. The main reason is "reflected light". Often, an external light source may inadvertenly shine into the home and is `captured' by say the mirror. If the light intensity is high, it may reflect `glare'. If we are `unfortunate' enough, we may be sitting down with the direct glare into our eyes and it feels so, uncomfortable. 3. Especially so, if there are shiny objects such as the profile of a vehicle. Light from it's body panel or windows may provide such a `glare'. 4. If you are confident that either reflected l…

Dear Anon, 1. Pendulum Clock Yes, to some Feng Shui practitioner, it is a much better `cure' than say a " wind chime " as the `tick-toc' provides a constant `metallic' sound. 2. Rocking Chair This is "less well known" but has been used by some (more modern) FS practitioners, recommend it. Firstly, it has to go well with their clients. On the other hand, some FS practitioners may consider it less auspicious because of its rocking movement (unstable) as opposed to a solid and stable chair. Some of whom have solid armrests and some of the armrests have elaborate carvings on them. Warmest Regards, Cecil

I want to paint it and was hoping to paint it red -- is this a big no-no? What color should I use? The safest colour or most neutral colours to use is always white. This is because white is Metal. And most sectors that requirecorrection in flying star often requires theuse of Metal. So it is the safest colour to propose or suggest wheneverwe have no idea or do notwant to consider the flying stars. Bright Red(Fire) orBright Yellow (Earth) colours should always be avoid when you…

Dear Sasha, 1. This would be based on Shapes and Form School of Feng Shui. 2. From my personal experience, it would be better to avoid having the young willow tree at the front of the main entrance as I personally feel that such a tree is (indeed - my belief) to be inauspicious especially that it slices through the front door.) 3. In such a situation, if you still leave the tree, I seldom recommend a Ba Gua mirror but, it should help. Or if there are any religious charms of your religion, it can be placed there as an alternative. Warmest Regards, Cecil
