Dear Johanna, In fact, many people would fall into your category of having chosen "wrong homes". What is more important is a "holistic approach" to Feng Shui. What you had mentioned is like the "tip-of-the-ice-berg". Generally, what you had described has to do with the eight house theory. It is only one of the sub-divisions of the Compass School Feng Shui. As mentioned above, a holistic approach is if one really applies Feng Shui to review or access a situation or home / office is to apply:- a. Shapes and Forms Feng Shui b. Compass School: Eight House with Flying Star Thus, what you had described is just one sub-division of the Compass School Feng Shui. A full F…

Dear Andy, An event's manager may be considered as a wood element. While a nutritionist especially if you do provide frequent advise to people can also be considered directly as belonging to the wood element. As wood element is about "growth/ nurturing", teaching, training andin thecase of an event's manager co-ordination. If so, if we strictly based on the FiveElements concept, metal destroys wood to create wealth. Thus without considering your personal traits or preferences, both are suppose to acceptable to you. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Susan, It is best that you do not include the non-living areas such as a garage when determining the rectangle of the house. The sink and windows of the garage should also be discounted since it belongs to this area. If one is having a problem, try to use the 2nd storey outline to determine the "rectangle" outline of your home. Here, you would have already determined the centre-point of the home. And use this to match the lower floor - while "cutting" out the excess fat (garage area). The idea of the centrepoint is to find the "centre" of gravity in a home. (but discounting the garage area) Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Andy, 1. Frankly, there are no right or wrong answers. This is because in some instances, the "stone" (jade) could belong to one element or a combination of other elements. 2. Let me give you some examples: 2.1 Shape If the jade is shaped like a triangle, then we may say that it is considered as a "fire" element. If the jade is sometimes shaped into jewellery e.g. a jade ring, then many of us would consider this a gemstone or "earth" element. You can think of many other examples, here 2.2 Colour Usually jade is green in colour. The depth of green colour can range from light green to deep grain green. For a scholar of "The Five Elements Concept" perhaps, he …

Dear Alvin, Alvin Low wrote: Hello. You mentioned hanging the six coins. Is it OK to just place the six coins on the table in a bag/container in the appropriate location? Actually, the coins should either be arranged in a straight row tied wth red string or placed on like red packet paper. Red is Fire, 6 Coins is Metal and the square in the coin is Earth. So when you placed it either in straight row or grouped together, the five element will be perfect harmony where the Fire- Hope that helps. Dear Aaron, Aaron Neo wrote: Hi , Im quite new to this feng shui stuff . I was wondering if i can use water plants in small containers on rounded shelves on corners of my walls in my bedroom as my bedroom has a column and some wall are protruding thus theres many sharp edges pointing everything . I cant think of any other small land plants to use that wont die fast other than cactus which i think defeats the purpose . I am a Strong Fire so i hope that the water will neutralise it somewhat . Thanks for all help If the column is at least rounded, then it should not be a major problem compared to a sharp corner. Anything that can help break or block the corner will help. …

Dear Anon, 1. Please goto the conference: Feng Shui Tips and Guidelines. Immediately on the top page of the conference, try to read two articles: Part I Facing direction of a home Part II Facing Direction of a home. 2. More importantly, one need to understand the concept of Flying Star or what is considered as the "mouth" of the house from this article. If so, one can basically apply Flying Star Feng Shui more effectively. 3. And hopefully able to answer your questions, either more convincingly or with conviction. As no two homes are the same nor for apartments - where height or storey /floor can play a difference. Warmest Regards, Cecil Anonymous wrote: Dear Maste…

Dear Anon, 1. The general consensus amongst the majority of Feng Shui practitioners is as you had mentioned "place our bed, with the headboardpointing at ourfavourable direction ". 2. This is often the most commonly practised method of defining the above. Thus the saying "head first, not legs first". 3. This saying "head first, not legs first" also associated with the Chinese belief that if we need to bring e.g. a person using a stretcher out of a home or bedroom, we should bring his "head first, not legs, first". Legs first implies bring out a coffin or coffin, position. 4. Of course, there are a FEW Feng Shui practitioners who say that favourable direction is opposit…

All 9 of our fish died overnight! The aquarium and 9 fish were bought only 2-3 months ago as a feng shui enhancement the fish and tank were well cared for, there has been no reason or indicators of any natural or environmental factors that would reasonably explain the deaths.(Nfish all sank to bottom of tank instead of floating) If the fish deaths indicate an affliction that would've otherwise befallen resident(s) but the affliction killed ALL the fish in matter of hours... what are the proper steps to replace the fish/tank? how can I be sure the affliction was averted and not merely exhausted since all the fishdied . is there any way to find out what theaffliction …

Dear Kritchnop, 1. If one is applying ba zi to relate to car colours then simply use the free tool e.g. in this website located at geomancy-online.com to check one's ba zi element. 2. For example, some of us are Weak Metal, while others may be strong metal, strong wood etc.... 3. The preferred colours are available to all of us. 4. To be honest, colours are considered "nice-to-have" and not a must! 5. In addition, most of us have three categories of careers (based on our ba zi) e.g. Career with wealth Career withpower and authority and Career that is acceptable or OK. Dear Anon, There are currently 3 formula available to calculate the Gua Number:- Method 1 Male Calculation - Subtract the last two numbers of your year of birth from 100 and divide by 9. - The remainder is the number of your Gua. - If there is no remainder, you should take the Gua number 9. For Example: Born in 1970, 100 - 70 = 30 30 divided by 9 = 3 remainder 3 Your Gua number is 3 Females Calculation - Subtract 4 from the last two numbers of your year of birth and divide by 9. - The remainder is the number of your Gua. - If there is no remainder you should take the Gua number 9. For Example: Born in 1970 70 - 4 = 66 66 divided by 9 = 7 remainder…

Dear Cecil, Thank you for your reply.Yes it was helpful! Mybedroomhave7 5 2 stars in it. All 3 are not great numbers. So I understood that I am to use metal and water elementsfor that room. Last year the annual star #2 fly inmy current bedroom which made it 7 5 2 2. Whatis the best treatment for that room... more metal items? wood? This year it is 75 2 1, On the report I ordered from you..I got puzzled.. 20 year chart says for 7 2 make use of water to exhaust and weaken Metal Annual 5 1 make use of Metal to exhaust and weaken earth. If you weaken the metal then the metal can't weaken the earth. If I put more water like strong blue paint in my bedroom, it will mak…

Dear Anon, In a past article in this website; I have mentioned that there was a study in Germany. Where it was reported that there were higher incidences of cancer for those who place their bed above a sewerage pipe. In your case, hopefully, the toilet bowl shares another wall (other than with your bed head). If so, so long as the toilet bowl does not share the same wall as your bed-head this is often fine. Just try to avoid having the toilet bowl (pipes) on the same wall as your bed-head. Warmest Regards, Cecil Quote: Anonymous wrote: I have a wallbetween my bedroom and bathroom. If not, what is the best way to do? If I just had only the roof shingles changed without taking the plywood off my roof, would that change my house to period 8? What are the different ways of making my house into 8th period without replacing the roof? Thank you for your time.
