Seek General Advice from Master Cecil Lee

  1. Started by myfs_112572,

Dear Master Lee, We would like to seek your advice. 1) What should I consider as our 'main door'? Is it a) the front door which we enter from b)the balcony/windowsthat has most light coming in c)Or any other locations (eg HDB block/lift direction?) Pls see pix 'N2C27_block202Ae' & 'N2C27_block202Be' & 'N2C27_siteplan_202A-B'. 2) Based on Blocks 202A (units 571 & 581), and 202B(Units 66 & 76) - which block/unit would be best for us? My partner/breadwinner Kua # is 9, mine is 7. 3) Block 202A Unit 571 is 'partially missing' the 'wealth corner'. What can we do to rectify this? As this is outside of the flat, and we're not on the ground floor, we cant…

    1. Try to do a SEARCH for recent articles on "Facing Direction" of the home. 2. Try to measure the "frontage" based on the most yang qi or "brightest qi" of the home. Majority of the time if your apartment building has a "single" face, try to check if it fits the description of most yang qi. Michael K. wrote: Hello Master Lee, I'm responding to your last reply to my post. Thank you for you patience, and I apologize for my slow learning curve. I gather from your last reply that in measuring my front door 24 mountain facing direction that I'm supposed to measure the front door of my apartment building and not the front door of my personal suite; is this correct? Thank you…

Dear Samsiah, Usually, to analyse the entire apartment complex then, it would probably have to be the front door (facing the neighbour's front gate). But if you are trying to analyse your apartment, then; for high floors or high storeys 8th storey and above, then it is often the frontage of the apartment or often the living room area or the facing direction where you have the most windows and/or balcony. If your apartment is often 7th storey and below, then often, it should be the main entrance to your unit. As the rest of your question seems more like doing a full audit, sorry this forum is about clarifications or a catalyst to your understanding of how to. Warmest …

  4. Hello Master I am in the process of building my dream family home and reading through the web I could not find a definitive answer regarding the front door and front gate alignment. I am looking to build the gate similar to the photos that is attached. Please provide some insight as to this placement is good or bad or is there something that can be done to counter the bad. I know that the design of the wrought iron should have no sharps spear heads. Do you require more information such as floor plans or direction of front door? Thanking you in advance.

I can't get a tree right now because it'll be cold soon and they might lose their leaves, or does it matter? Is it ok to use fake trees? Or is there any other ways than tree to help this situation? Thanks The main problem with this back door and front door is the Qi leak from the front door out to the back door. The best way is to put a partition or divider to force the Qi to flow around the house rather than just in and out. Just like this example:- URL: http://www.geomancy.net/resources/theories/fs-breath.htm A fake tree should be still ok or anything a…

Dear Tril, If you have not reviewed how to find the main door direction, please check out:- http://www.geomancy.net/fs/cecilcompass.htm In the graphic presentation on the above site, you find that at the last part of the presentation, I actually superimposed a circular protractor i.e. 360 degress protractor on the layout plan. Here, you should then mark out i.e. 0 degrees (North), 45 degrees NE, 90 degrees East etc... and this is how you draw a `pie chart' with North, NE, East, SE, South, SW, West, NW. In fact there are two methods of dividing a room i.e. by diving it into 9 equal sectors as what mentioned below or using the `pie chart' method. If you are using a compass …

  7. Hi Cecil, Thanks for the advice. This is a brand new home site still unders contruction. I based the information on the blue-print layout for the property provided by the builder. The way all houses are built to be facing between two opposite houses similar to the picture I sent you. Based on your advice, I would look somewhere else to buy house. Thanks again for you advice. Dear Linda, In my opinion, if the plum color looks more like bright orange or metal element, then, it is still acceptable given that your main door is at the South. Frankly, I am not too sure from your description whether plum color looks more like `gold color'. But if the color you mentioned represents gold color, then, gold or metal element is acceptable at the South (fire element sector). As metal (gold or white) is controlled by fire element. An acceptable combination under the 5 elements concept. Warmest Regards, Cecil

These are some considerations: 1. When we reference a home with compass directions; and if one is trying to apply a Feng Shui concept to this; 2. Then, the Compass School of Feng Shui comes into mind: Eight House concept and Flying Stars 2.1. Eight House concept to find or nice-to have one's head sleep facing a good direction and if possible sectors that are favourable to the person. 2.2. In your case, when applying traditional Feng Shui = Flying Stars; determine or confirming that the facing direction may be actually West sitting East. And in addition, find out whether it is a W1, W2 / W3 facing and which period it is in. 3. Then plot the flying stars and applying this c…

Hello Cecil, If I stand behind the front door of my new house (period 7, 1995) with the compass in my palm facing the door, the compass reading is 78 deg (E1). However, if I stand in the CENTER of the house with the compass in my palm facing the front door, it reads 56 deg (NE3). Which is the direction of my front door, E1 or NE3?

  11. Started by myfs_133791,

    1. I assume that you are referring to a landed property. 2. For landed property, imagine where is the road driving into your property and where is your main gate. 3. Usually is your main gate and main entrance door the same facing direction i.e. when you open your main entrance door is this the same direction as the main gate? And in addition, your living room and frontage of home is at this location. 3.1 If YES, then stand inside the house looking outwards and take a compass reading. This is your facing direction. 3.2 If NO, determine where is the frontage of your home. And take a reading from inside the home e.g. porch or patio looking outwards. 4. Obtain a layout …

Hi Lynn, Eight House concept is all about suitability. There is really nothing you can do if a house isn't suitable to you except not to buy or stay in such a house. This is because even if a house is good, but if it does not suit you, it is like saying you can only obtain 25-50% of the luck from the house. So what is the point of buying such a house. The only thing I can say here is that if you are not the breadwinner of the house, then it is not as bad. This is because the breadwinner's suitability to the house is more important than the family members staying in the same home. However, if possible, you should try to avoid such a unsuitable house. Especially if it fac…

Dear Anon, Yes, two doors facing each other is not as good for relationships. Here, I must emphasis that of relationship. In our practical world, there is really not much one can avoid such situations. Anyway, most of the time, these are not your relatives and you can still `control' the situation without using "Feng Shui". In the past, I related the case of a Singapore public flat. Both doors are facing each other directly. Here, one owner, placed a Ba Gua mirror above his front door. The neighour had `no choice' but to counter-act this by placing a Feng Shui mirror. If you look at it, this is a lose-lose situation and not a win-win situation. I have also done Feng Shui…

I need advice. We just built a house. The visual as you enter the front door straight ahead, is a music room with a huge half moon picture window. The view through it, is 2 large bananna plants on either side of the window, abeautifyl wrought iron table with chairs, and past that, you see the swimming pool with a waterfall to the right. this waterfall would be considered SE of the house. Past that, you can see a pond with wild life preserve tocomlete the view & backdrop. Is this good or bad feng shui? I am getting conflicting reports. It is a good feeling for me, yet I want to be sure.

Master Cecil, In this situation, can a cactus be placed in front of the staircase to have the same effect? Ai Ling?

  17. Started by Sandi,

Dear Sandi, 1. Based on what you had mentioned, you should not have a problem in the situation where although the front and back door are directly opposite each other. As, there is a wall between the two front and back door. 2. In Feng Shui, it is advisable not to be under a sloping roof. However, this is much better than directly under (sitting) under a beam. The higher the ceiling the better. Warmest Regards, Cecil

  18. Started by myfs_137372,

    1. The most common approach is to have to place a partition between the front door and the window. 2. The partition need not be full height nor air-tight. If it is a reasonably "heavy" partition, make sure that it is properly "anchored". So that it does not fall down and "hurt" anyone. 3. Alternatively, close the window closes to the door (facing the door).

  20. Started by realtorfc,

Dear Fred, 1. It would be better if a partition (if possible) be placed between the front door and the staircase instead of a crystal. Usually, a crystal would not (in my opinion work). 2. To slow down the qi, plants could be placed at the steps of the stairs. (But preference should be given to Para 1.) 3. Based on your description, looks like the frontage of the house is the ocean view side instead of the main door side. In such a situation, it would not be ideal to place a water position on the `technical' front side of the house. 4. Usually, it is best if a physical FS audit could be done as it is difficult to advise on this on paper. Warmest Regards, Cecil

  21. Good Day, I would please like to ask for advice. We have recently moved into a new home and the front door is facing another door which leads to a passage and then the bathroom. What would the remedy be for such a situation? Would the red stickers also be a good idea. The door handles on the doors are not identical. Is this a requirement?

Dear Mick Bartam, mick bartam wrote: my front door faces my back door. how can i fix this as i believe this can let energy flow out, i have had bad luck in this house. Basically, you should be having a problem similiar to this diagram:- URL: http://www.geomancy.net/resources/theories/fs-breath.htm If so, you will need to have a partition as shown somewhere in between the two doors to help prevent a Qi leak. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research

    1. For a landed property, it is very straight forward to take a compass reading i.e. majority of the time it is where usually cars drive past our main entrance area. And this is where often, we drive into the home. And most of the living room / main door is (located). For landed property, just hold the luo-pan (most of the time) standing inside of the door looking outwards of the home. The luo pan has a needle and there is also "two red dots". Once the needleis properly aligned try to place the two dots in between the needle - this marking will show the north compass marking. 2. Fora condo type development, if your building as mentioned earlier has one "facing" e.g. a s…

    1. The most likely facing direction should be "apartment building that is elevated above street level and is facing the ocean" or the apartment building "facing" direction. 2. If the home has a "known" history e.g. if one has stayed in this home for several or more years, can draw a chart based on Para 1 and usually another chart (standing inside the main entrance door looking outside of the home). These two are the main defacto "facing" directions commonly used by all professional Feng Shui practitioners. Michael K. wrote: Hello Master Lee!, I've read all the posts as you advised on front facing direction, now I'm really overwhelmed.I live in a 3 story apartment buildi…

    1. Frankly there are a few remedies but they involve some changes or activity. What it tries to achieve is to have the door "protected" from the poison arrow (sha qi). 1.1. Is it possible to relocate the door? Or tilt the door. (It is best that tilting be done by a professional). 1.2 Fencing between the T section and the main door. Or any other landscaping with the use of bushes or plants. Usually best that the actual layout is looked at to further determine if there are any other possible "cures". The last resort or alternative to the ba gua is hanging a six-hollow rod windchime.
