Dear Cecil, I thank you for your quick response. I did take note of your 2 sets of illustrations and the frontage of the lot and did understand that acceptable does not mean favorable. I was relieved when I tumbled to your website and to see the illustrations in your Chapter 10 - that narrower front/wider back w/ front house facing narrow front is not categorized as unfavorable like the one book I read. That book does make the distinction. It presents such a lot as unfavorable but it does draw a house sitting right along the narrow front ie. along the street. Would you please explain a little more on this frontage relation to the trapezoid (item 6.4 above of your reply) …

Dear Dylan, 1. As the cooking stove is considered an important part of the house i.e. providing fire and food, some Shapes and Form School believe that it is important not to have a beam above it. This is similar to having a beam above a person sitting e.g. at a seat. 2. Where possible, try to avoid it. Else, there is nothing much one can do here unless the ceiling is even (false ceiling). 2.1 But, a false ceiling is not recommended in a kitchen as it may catch fire. 2.2 If the ceiling beam is made of concrete, it is equally not practical to use two flutes as they are made of wood and may also catch fire. Warmest Regards, Cecil

  3. Dear Anon, 1. This has more to do with beliefs than Feng Shui. 2. It would be a nice feeling for CEOs if they can symbolically be at one of the highest floors of a building especially if their company owns the entire building. 3. In some countries, well known politicians also have their offices close to the top floor. Some even have an escape hatch to a helicopter pad in the event of a terrorist attack. 4. Usually, nowadays the highest floors need not be an office but rather it could also be a restaurant or an auditorium. Warmest Regards, Cecil

    1. Please check out this link (3 of 3 articles and graphics) on the rationale of having a certain number of mirrors:- http://forum.geomancy.net/phpforum/article.php?bid=2&fid=29&mid=10857&new= 2. Please note that having say one piece or three piece(s) of mirror are considere "nice-to-have" and not a "must-have". Quote: Hella R. wrote: Hi! I recently started to redecorate our house, and try to go after the feng shui guidelines. My front door face north-east, and the wall next the door is east. I thought I want to put a nice mirror there, but I didn't had enough money for the one I really wanted, so my friends suggested the tile mirrors, which sounded good. I…

  6. Dear Anon, 1. Some Feng Shui practitioners `swear' by the use of lighting with Five bulbs. To them, they believe that it can neutralize Sha Qi at a location. In my opinion, here, the practitioners are usually, more of the Shapes and Form School practitioners. 2. While another school of thought usually those are more `mathematical' and uses more of the Flying Star, because of their `inclination' to look at No. 5 (misfortune). I believe these practitioners have a `deeper' association of no. 5 with misfortune and in my opinion, may tend to `avoid' the use of anything 5. 3. In my opinion, having seen lots of cases of problems relating to the centrepoint, I feel that : 3.1. If…

Can we simply enter a house from 2 different entrances that correspond to our good directions? Is entering by 2 different ways going to affect our marriage? Yes, this should be avoided as it has more to do with "human" feel nice or feel not so good factor. If one has young children, imagine how they will feel or think of such a situation. Dear Michael, Since you mentioned that almost the entire house has overhead beams; it is thus impractical to place `cures' at all beams, in your situation, you can:- 1. Above the bed location, use 6 ancient Chinese coins tied to a beam. Here, the 6 coins can be used on only one beam to symbollically cover 3 beams. Therefore, you do not need to place 6 ancient Chinese coins at every beam but one immediately above the bed. 2. Using the above guideline, you can place 6 coins at certain locations that you or your family frequent. For example if the sofa set happens to be directly below a beam, than place one set of 6 coins. 3. Where possible confine placing the coins only e.…

Dear Anon, If one has both a wet and dry kitchen: 1. Where possible, in both instances, the stove should not also "clash" especially with the wash-basin. 2. Where possible, the stove in the dry kitchen should match the lady of the house's ba zi direction. 3. For the outside kitchen, it would be good if the stove match also Para 2. But not as crucial. 4. For the stove in the wet kitchen or usually "open air" area, it should be kept away from "gusts" of wind. Where possible, both stove must be supported by a solid wall or backing. 5. Avoid placing any of the stove along the NW compass direction of the home. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, 1. Please goto the conference: Feng Shui Tips and Guidelines. Immediately on the top page of the conference, try to read two articles: Part I Facing direction of a home Part II Facing Direction of a home. 2. More importantly, one need to understand the concept of Flying Star or what is considered as the "mouth" of the house from this article. If so, one can basically apply Flying Star Feng Shui more effectively. 3. And hopefully able to answer your questions, either more convincingly or with conviction. As no two homes are the same nor for apartments - where height or storey /floor can play a difference. Warmest Regards, Cecil Anonymous wrote: Dear Maste…

  12. In addition to what you have mentioned, another major key issue is to look out for water coming in or flowing outwards of the property. EXAMPLE 1:- ========== For example, please take a look at this attachment illustration: water-entry-exitpoint-A.gif In this illustration, assuming the property is facing "SOUTH" compass direction and in addition, there is a drain with water flowing directly towards south into the property:- Please take alook at the first heaven trigram (top most trigram). Here, South represents the"Heaven trigram". And assuming that when we investigate this property, water flows out of the land at NW . Which is also the "Heaven trigram" - Of the…

Dear Sharon, The thing here is that there is no home that is mobile in the past, as such there is no specific feng shui analysis that you can really use for this. In such a mobile home, probably the application of making it comfortable and practical to stay in would be more important. The only few areas you can apply any feng shui concept would then only be either:- 1.To face the entire home in a certain direction when you "park" ie facing north - Prosperity. 2. Or apply the Ba Zi element ie North - Water element, etc. 3. The rest should be more like colour scheme of the interior and exterior should be suitable to you. Otherwise, nothing much else you can do. Ho…

    1. Some Feng Shui practitioners a have "rigid thinking" which they felt that any apartment BLOCK on "stilts" or standing on legs are no good. Here, some Feng Shui practitioners felt that the entire block is at risk of "loss of wealth". For example, to these Feng Shui practitioners, so long as any property is not on land or on the ground and supported even by levels of car park are considered not good. 2. In Singapore, the Ritz Carlton hotel was "Feng Shuied" and was built on such a column "or void". 3. Again, in Singapore, approximately 80 to 90 percent of Singaporeans live in a Housing Board (HDB apartment). And as…

One must understand the concept: 1. If one does not spent lots of time "exposed" to the sharp wall edges; then this is not an issue. 2. Many homes have exposed sharp wall edges and again, if you are not "there" what is the problem, here. 3. Most of concerns are at places we spent most of our time. Thus, I would be concerned if the sharp wall edge is in the bedroom and even if it is in the bedroom, it must literally cause a poison arrow. 3.1. And it is not the same as; "you feel that it is a threat"; but in many instances or in reality, it does not pose a problem to say one's bed. 4. The same is true for a ceiling beam. If one is not under a ceiling beam for 2 hours per da…

  16. Dear Anon, Some Feng Shui practitioners do not recommend placing a dragon image next to the main door for the following reasons: 1. It depends on the number of claws on the dragon. The most Yang is the `Emperor' Dragon which has five claws. 2. In the recent Sterling Condominum project, I have shown that there is a space between the units at the middle of the condo, before the pool where the dragon is able to move from the top or summit of the project down thru the hole. 3. It is not a good idea to `trap' the dragon in the home by letting it face inwards such as a wall. This is why for cures, it faces an outlet such as the main door or a window. I have also shown an examp…

Dear Ann, For some Chinese, they would consider using the Ba Gua mirror. However, even if one places a potted plant as what you had mentioned, unfortunately, the staircase is still in full view thus such a remedy may not work properly. Frankly, when confronted with such an issue, it is very difficult to resolve it since the underlining thing is "if it cannot be seen, it no longer becomes a threat" cannot be fulfilled. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Hi, I checked the center of the house, the bedroom is probably part in the northeast sector and part in the east sector. The whole house is a long rectangle where the long wall of the house faces 330deg if looking from the center spot. My bedroom is on the short side of the house right on the top of the garage, closer to the central northeast (45deg) side of the house ( there are another small room adjacent to my bedroom close to the central east direction 90deg). I am not exactly sure about the exact length of the house, so it is hard to say if my bedroom is really in the northeast sector or mainly in the east sector. So my question would be if my bedroom resides mainly …

Dear Betty, Under the Eight Aspirations or Life Associations where each trigram is associated with an aspect of life. Here are the significance of each trigram and their direction: North - Career South - Fame East - Health West - Children North East - Education North West - Helfpul patrons South East - Wealth South West - Romance / Marriage Therefore, to answer your question, Health is neither at West or North but at the East. The above is based on the Later (last) Heaven Sequence. 1. We cannot `compare' this theory with the Shapes and Form School where the Shapes and Form can be applied to every location. The Eight Aspirations is considered too general to be applied to e…

These are some considerations: 1. As much as we like "make" a home slot into a better period; Flying star is not about "reverse engineering" sort of thing. 2. What I mean is; since one period is say better than the other; we ourselves decide upon our own to "slot" the home into a period which we feel that is auspicious and try to play "Tai Chi" and sweep away notion that it belongs to the "other period. 3. In my opinion, generally, and also partially many geomancers would more readily accept that even if the home was built ongoing in a certain period; what may be the more important consideration is "live-in" or "yang qi". 4. Thus, it is not wrong to say that an "empty" …

Dear Anon, Basically, there is a Chinese legend called the " Legend of the Eight Immortals ". It has also been cast as a TV serial by a few TV stations in Asia. In general, the legend is about how 8 persons each became an immortal to serve the world. As it is not Feng Shui but more related to Chinese culture and `stories' ... I will not dwell on it further. Dear Tien Sze, 1. Before I answer your question, usually if a company hires us (geomancers) to do an audit, our first priority is to get the location for important areas e.g. reception, meeting room and CEO's office Feng Shuied to an optimium level. This usually also includes the location for Marketing/Sales and Finance/Accounting. 2. I can understand your constraint in that other than the CEO, or some Senior Managers, it is quite hard to change the direction of one's work area especially in an open office or if the building has a certain layout. 3. In quite alot of the messages posted under this forum, it is good to ponder over Three questions: 3.1. What is the aim or pu…

Dear Anon, Usually, your office would have installed blinds. Simply draw the blinds and this is good enough : " if one cannot see it it no longer becomes a threat. As for the sharp corner of the pillar:- 1. from your illustration, it does not seem that the front pillar slices into the person. So should not be an issue. 2. furthermore, for a sharp corner in an office, usually after approximately 1 metre distance away from it, the sha qi is pretty weak. Even the two sha qi at the back of you should not be an issue. In addition, if one has a high chair, the two sha qi at the back is a non-issue. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Master Regarding the Parc Life Executive Condo (EC) & Block 39, you have stated in Mar 2016 that :- (Block 39 stacks 36 & 37 are N2 facing whilestacks 38 & 39 are S2 facing Under Flying stars; there is a difference between a N2 facing vs a S2 facing chart. Here, under N2 facing; the combined auspicious wealth stars are wasted at the rear of the home. Here, "rear" often means wasted at the kitchen / yard area in stead of at the frontage like that of an S2 chart) I would like to ask for stack 38 - S2 facing - you have say that S2 facing the frontage is rear meaning wasted . Is it mean that stack 38& 39 frontage is waste - not go…
