  1. 1. Feng Shui is a holistic approach and depends on two major concepts:- 1.1 Shapes and Forms Feng Shui 1.2 Compass School Feng Shui 2. In my opinion, you have barely scratched the surface; as you have just looked only at the Eight house concept which is by itself is not complete as this theory and concept belongs to one-half of the Compass School Feng Shui. 3. It is akin to someone visiting a general practitioner and the practitioner felt that the patient's breast has a lump. 4. I am sure the doctor would not automatically jump to the wrong conclusion. 5. I am also sure that the doctor would require this patient to further tests. 6. It is the same as what you had…

What then is the best option if: My best position is head pointing north. This means my bed must be placed at 45 degrees to the wall.If I align it against either wall that forms the corner,my head will be pointing in my worst directions,ie,NE or NW.Other bed positions are not suitable because it faces a mirror or the door. If I sleep alone in a queen size bed, should I sleep diagonally with my head pointing north?Which is more important - the position of the bed in thedesired corner of the bedroom or the head pointing direction?

  3. Dear Anon, Here, there are several view-points: 1. Some Feng Shui practioners will `insist' that one should use an immovable object rather than a picture. 2. Some Feng Shui practioners will advise you that one can hang pictures but watch what you hang. Under para 2, the advise is to hang a picture of a mountain scene. Excellent examples are: a picture of Mount Fuji in Japan or the Himalayas. Scenes such as this. Where best, avoid pictures of water scenes such as fountain, fishes swimming. Other alternatives are calligraphy works or pictures of Chinese paintings with a backdrop of a mountain / village scene are acceptable. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Sharon, The thing here is that there is no home that is mobile in the past, as such there is no specific feng shui analysis that you can really use for this. In such a mobile home, probably the application of making it comfortable and practical to stay in would be more important. The only few areas you can apply any feng shui concept would then only be either:- 1.To face the entire home in a certain direction when you "park" ie facing north - Prosperity. 2. Or apply the Ba Zi element ie North - Water element, etc. 3. The rest should be more like colour scheme of the interior and exterior should be suitable to you. Otherwise, nothing much else you can do. Ho…

    1. Some Feng Shui practitioners a have "rigid thinking" which they felt that any apartment BLOCK on "stilts" or standing on legs are no good. Here, some Feng Shui practitioners felt that the entire block is at risk of "loss of wealth". For example, to these Feng Shui practitioners, so long as any property is not on land or on the ground and supported even by levels of car park are considered not good. 2. In Singapore, the Ritz Carlton hotel was "Feng Shuied" and was built on such a column "or void". 3. Again, in Singapore, approximately 80 to 90 percent of Singaporeans live in a Housing Board (HDB apartment). And as…

Dear Anon, More importantly, the purpose is to correct any odd shaped room to be a square or rectangle room. As square and rectangle are considered the best shape rather than a room with odd corners. Frankly, the issue of whether it is a separate room is less important or really not a issue. Warmest Regards, Cecil

One must understand the concept: 1. If one does not spent lots of time "exposed" to the sharp wall edges; then this is not an issue. 2. Many homes have exposed sharp wall edges and again, if you are not "there" what is the problem, here. 3. Most of concerns are at places we spent most of our time. Thus, I would be concerned if the sharp wall edge is in the bedroom and even if it is in the bedroom, it must literally cause a poison arrow. 3.1. And it is not the same as; "you feel that it is a threat"; but in many instances or in reality, it does not pose a problem to say one's bed. 4. The same is true for a ceiling beam. If one is not under a ceiling beam for 2 hours per da…

Dear Anon, Basically, there is a Chinese legend called the " Legend of the Eight Immortals ". It has also been cast as a TV serial by a few TV stations in Asia. In general, the legend is about how 8 persons each became an immortal to serve the world. As it is not Feng Shui but more related to Chinese culture and `stories' ... I will not dwell on it further. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Tien Sze, 1. Before I answer your question, usually if a company hires us (geomancers) to do an audit, our first priority is to get the location for important areas e.g. reception, meeting room and CEO's office Feng Shuied to an optimium level. This usually also includes the location for Marketing/Sales and Finance/Accounting. 2. I can understand your constraint in that other than the CEO, or some Senior Managers, it is quite hard to change the direction of one's work area especially in an open office or if the building has a certain layout. 3. In quite alot of the messages posted under this forum, it is good to ponder over Three questions: 3.1. What is the aim or pu…

Mtiger side of the house is higher than the dragon side. What are the possible conseqence of such a case, and what are the remedies to correct this. Thank you very much As you are aware, you are asking a question based on the exterior of your home: Can you physically change or control the exterior? Yes/No? Well, you think about it....

  12. Dear Anon, 1. This has more to do with beliefs than Feng Shui. 2. It would be a nice feeling for CEOs if they can symbolically be at one of the highest floors of a building especially if their company owns the entire building. 3. In some countries, well known politicians also have their offices close to the top floor. Some even have an escape hatch to a helicopter pad in the event of a terrorist attack. 4. Usually, nowadays the highest floors need not be an office but rather it could also be a restaurant or an auditorium. Warmest Regards, Cecil

  14. In addition to what you have mentioned, another major key issue is to look out for water coming in or flowing outwards of the property. EXAMPLE 1:- ========== For example, please take a look at this attachment illustration: water-entry-exitpoint-A.gif In this illustration, assuming the property is facing "SOUTH" compass direction and in addition, there is a drain with water flowing directly towards south into the property:- Please take alook at the first heaven trigram (top most trigram). Here, South represents the"Heaven trigram". And assuming that when we investigate this property, water flows out of the land at NW . Which is also the "Heaven trigram" - Of the…

  15. Dear Anon, Some Feng Shui practitioners do not recommend placing a dragon image next to the main door for the following reasons: 1. It depends on the number of claws on the dragon. The most Yang is the `Emperor' Dragon which has five claws. 2. In the recent Sterling Condominum project, I have shown that there is a space between the units at the middle of the condo, before the pool where the dragon is able to move from the top or summit of the project down thru the hole. 3. It is not a good idea to `trap' the dragon in the home by letting it face inwards such as a wall. This is why for cures, it faces an outlet such as the main door or a window. I have also shown an examp…

  16. Dear Anon, In my opinion, graphic illustrations are `flat objects'. On a Personal Computer, it lies `flat' on a person's screen. Contrast this with a physical object e.g. such as the corner of a table. The corner of a table is considered a poision arrow. Therefore, unless it is a three dimension object that points directly towards a person, I sincerely believe that the graphic illustrations do not have an impact on a person. Warmest Regards, Cecil Lee

Hi, This is a good question. In general, some of the ancient practises may not be applicable to certain countries or location. In China, e.g. in Beijing the Chinese usually have the main doors at the South cardinal point. The problem with having windows or doors at the North is because either of the cold winds from the North or the `yellow' dust at the North. We can understand that such situations do not apply to many people in the world. In our present situation, ideally, if you are living in a landed property, to safeguard your home, you should have a backdoor but with good set of locks or even an alarm sensor at the back of the house. More importantly, you should apply…

  21. Dear Anon, 1. Some Feng Shui practitioners `swear' by the use of lighting with Five bulbs. To them, they believe that it can neutralize Sha Qi at a location. In my opinion, here, the practitioners are usually, more of the Shapes and Form School practitioners. 2. While another school of thought usually those are more `mathematical' and uses more of the Flying Star, because of their `inclination' to look at No. 5 (misfortune). I believe these practitioners have a `deeper' association of no. 5 with misfortune and in my opinion, may tend to `avoid' the use of anything 5. 3. In my opinion, having seen lots of cases of problems relating to the centrepoint, I feel that : 3.1. If…

Shared wealth 1. Traditionally, Feng Shui is used at a macro level. This is where, locations of cities were found and where possible, it can become a vibrant and prosperous city. Of course there are some not so lucky people but generally, people of that city are overall "healthy and wealthy". 2. In the same light, today, plots of land are looked at in terms of the dragon vein and the harmony between the tiger and dragon. 3. It reasons that, collectively, the residents and neigbhours can enjoy prosperity. If a site is auspicious or good, the `goodness' of the surrounding can add further `goodness' to your home. This is a WIN-WIN situation. 4. For example, in one of the mes…

Hi, I checked the center of the house, the bedroom is probably part in the northeast sector and part in the east sector. The whole house is a long rectangle where the long wall of the house faces 330deg if looking from the center spot. My bedroom is on the short side of the house right on the top of the garage, closer to the central northeast (45deg) side of the house ( there are another small room adjacent to my bedroom close to the central east direction 90deg). I am not exactly sure about the exact length of the house, so it is hard to say if my bedroom is really in the northeast sector or mainly in the east sector. So my question would be if my bedroom resides mainly …

  24. Hi Michelle, Firstly, you should know that Feng Shui isn't a mircle cure for all problems. Especially in your situation here for wanting to have another child. I think here that Medicine Science or taking Herbal Enhancers will give you more hope than relying on Feng Shui. In terms of your second e-mail. To know when would be the best time, that you can check your ba zi luck to see which year is best for you. I can give you a complimentary ba zi analysis which you can look at the 2005/2006/2007 forecast to check which is better. These are some considerations: 1. As much as we like "make" a home slot into a better period; Flying star is not about "reverse engineering" sort of thing. 2. What I mean is; since one period is say better than the other; we ourselves decide upon our own to "slot" the home into a period which we feel that is auspicious and try to play "Tai Chi" and sweep away notion that it belongs to the "other period. 3. In my opinion, generally, and also partially many geomancers would more readily accept that even if the home was built ongoing in a certain period; what may be the more important consideration is "live-in" or "yang qi". 4. Thus, it is not wrong to say that an "empty" …
