Dear Louis, One technique is to hang a mirror. It need not be full length but should cover the head, face and the upper part of the body. However, before doing so, it would best to look at the sector based on Flying Star theory to make sure that the location is not inauspicious. If the location is auspicious, placing the mirror is acceptable. But if it is an inauspicious location, placing a mirror will bounce back twice the bad luck. The mirror is used (in consideration) of the above so that it extends the pillar outwards. Without further information, I am unable to comment further. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, We can look at it from two angles: 1. As you are aware, majority of the Chinese and overseas Chinese equate white with death. Here there are two camps: a. Those that are superstitious and have always believed that white furniture is not auspicious. b. The modern and trendy especially the young do not have this taboo. 2. With the above in mind, it is hard to answer you based on beliefs. 3. Under Feng Shui, there is also no taboo associated with colour white as inauspicious. Rather, white is equated with the Metal element. Therefore, if we are using the Five Elements relationship, we can check our personal suitability with white. 4. Another factor is the 33.3 pe…

1. Frankly, all these depends on the individual, especially for those seeking advise from their own "elderly" family members. 2. Many in the past has done paperwork or even placed a deposit on a new home (condo). 3. As your first appointment is only paper transaction, purely this is acceptable and not physical entry or ownership of the home as yet. 4. Personally I feel that it is acceptable. Anyway, 19 September 2009 is the start of the Chinese 8th lunar month.

Dear Anon, I do not see a problem having a baby in an inauspicious year because, in general, the report is based on the entire year's influence. Here, you will notice that analysis can go further into each month even days and hours. Not all months or days in that year are considered inauspicious to you. It is only a general analysis. Personally, I feel that it is rather not to plan such events. Let nature take it's course. There are many couple who had approached me or many FS consultants to choose dates for the birth of their child. You can consider this `playing' with nature. For one, many a times, if it is a natural birth, it is seldom or rare to find that the date ch…

Thanks for the photos. These are some considerations: 1. Since the offending post is "smack" against the main entrance door; thus the best "solution" is to consider a potted plant with lots of leaves (not another barren tree trunk type of plant) against this post. Ideally the potted plant is plus or minus = around 3/4 height of the entire entrance door. 2. The weak alternative is hanging a 6 hollow rod wind chime. 3. The rest of the concern like railings.. no choice. Thus, in my opinion, therefore, if you are allowed to place a potted plant; then this can be the best solution.

Dear Anon, 1. This is an interesting question. 2. I have heard both sides of the `story'. Some practioners say that both sides of the main entrance door must have equal panels. While others mentioned that the door panel can be unequal. 3. So far, based on what I have observed:- a. Most (or all doors) on traditional Chinese buildings be it a temple, a very old house/building or landmark has doors that are of equal dimensions. b. Singapore Housing board flats have a `main door' and grille gate where it fits your description. I know that the Housing Board flats where 90 percent of Singaporean stays have their main doors that conform to Feng Shui ruler good dimensions. Nowada…

Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: I'm looking atbuying a house and themain door opens out to a split door, is it "harmful" for the ones staying in the house? Is there a cure ? Generally, if you open your door and anything that cuts or split in your house, this is considered inauspicious. As it is normally a form or sha qi or poison arrow. This means this wall/split will cut right into your house. Typical way to resolve is try to block it. Probably like having at least gate with has half the height covered. Or even having some partition inside your house just after you enter into the door. Or last resort may be to use a ba gua to reflect the problem, but this may lead to bagua…

Dear Anon, 1. In most traditional FS practises, the person's true element i.e. weak or strong element is taken into consideration especially in trying to make the room more closely `fit' the Ba Zi of the person. 2. Thus, if you are a weak water person, light blue colour and even blue colour bedsheet is considered beneficial to a person with weak water element. 3. The caution with `blue' lies with it over a person or room. For example, it is avoidable to paint the ceiling of the room blue. As this represents `difficulty' or water weighing on a person i.e. in the room. 4. For a bedsheet, for example, one is sleeping on top of it. And e.g. light blue painted on the wall; doe…

Dear Anon, Again, this is a `hard' question as one must be personally at the site to evaluate the "situation." In general, this would depend on many factors some of which includes: 1. Is the house on elevated ground and how is the condition of the soil or foundation solid enough. 2. The impact of the weather i.e. is the location `sheltered' from storms etc... 3. If the sea at the location is calm, it is acceptable. Based on what you have briefly mentioned, the light house should not pose a problem: a. In order for it to be a poison arrow, it must be directly cutting the main entrance door ( or tangent to it). If it is at a distance on one side, this is acceptable. b. On t…

Dear Hoa Luong, Yes, under Shapes and Forms Feng Shui, it is really not a good idea to have a fireplace located in the centrepoint of the home. Where possible, a fire-place should often have one of it's walls next to an external wall. Warmest Regards, Cecil

1. It is highly unusual for three "normal" sized rooms to straddle the north compass direction. Usually at most two rooms are affected. 2. These are some of the considerations:- 2.1Are there any windows in these rooms? Yes/No? 2.1 Even if there are windows, are there any that are larger? 2.3 Even if we do have windows, are they opened all (most) of the time? If the window(s) are not opened, for example, seldom if ever opened, then qi will often not flow. So no issue - no need for a cure. 2.4 Are any of these rooms occupied or unoccupied? If unoccupied, or not a bedroom, then no need to place any cures. 3. If these are not bedrooms, then one may consider a wind chime…

I already asked for listening ears, but they kept telling me to just try and apply more! I went to career advisors, but nothing really is happening positively. I hope I can get a job in January. Can you do a proper analysis and review for me, so that I can find a job? I have no money to pay you. I do not have even bank or credit card yet. Or anyone who can guide me how to analyze my fengshui, so that I can do it even if it is just basic? Thank you very much for your reply and your help.

Dear Gerard, In my opinion, often these sun-shades do not pose a `threat' to a neighbour. In fact, I believe, HDB had already for many years back installed sun shade - in particular; for bedroom windows facing west or south west direction. Many of these windows have `clear space' i.e. often no obstruction as far as 500 metres or more (from another block of flats). What is worse is this `test': Sometimes, the next block is a full wall. And when we stand inside of the home, looking outwards, we tend to get `glare' or light reflected from such neighbouring block's walls. And this glare is `sha qi'. Many of the sun-screens as you had mentioned covers mostly a level higher tha…

Dear Lalita, 1. Never hang a convex mirror and/or a hexagram Ba-gua inside the home. It is considered very inauspicious. 2. Since you have not or may not intend to do a Feng Shui audit, it is still best to leave the current situation alone. In my opinion, as far as I can understand, so long as the staircase has a turning and not a straight staircase, this is considered acceptable -- not perfect, thou. Quote: Lalita L. wrote: I just bought a house. The staircase is in the middle of the house and unfortunately runs into the master bedroom. Is this considered two major leaks? I'm planning to add light on top the staircase and hang a convex mirror and a hexagram Ba-gua on…

Dear Kathy, Please see below:- It is usually not advisable to base on just one Feng Shui theory and say for sure that the main front door is inauspicious:- Of-course, under the Eight House Theory, it is best to have a home that has a suitable main entrance door but:- 1. Under Shapes and Form Feng Shui; One should also consider the statement " Protect, protect, protect". If one were to say shift the main door to orientate to a good direction; one should consider if any threats to the main entrance. For example, the new door position could encounter a lone lamp post or a sharp corner of another building. Alternatively, it could now be oriented towards the North-East (…

DearPui Yong, Cheong Pui Yong wrote: Is it suitable to have wealth tree and lotus flower picture in the bedroom? I also have an airport for boiling water in the bedroom because I am living in an one room place Thanks for any advise! A) Actually, it is bad to have plants or tress in the room for two reasons:- 1) The room should be yin for resting. Plants are considered yang, so it is bad to have them in the room. 2)The 2nd reasonis plants will produce oxygen in the day, but at night they will also fight with you for oxygen. Thus, both the plants and yourself will be fighting for the same amount of oxygen. This is why it is not good to place plants in the bedroom. It …

Frankly, it is beyond this forum as there is very limited information to go on. It may be a coincidence and/or a contributing factor. In general, a spiral staircase is always not the best choice in a home: as if you have check pastmessages; somehow, it is not "friendly" to the flow of qi. In order to reduce the bad effects (if any) The Concept of Maximizing Marksis always a sound way of trying to reduce bad qi and to try to improve the "marks" for a home.
