  1. Dear Anon, In my opinion, there is really no significance of hanging the mobiles as I believe, these are art pieces commissioned by the airline to decorate their building. Unfortunately, because these mobiles are shaped like `poision' arrows, it has hurt it's neighbour especially those the mobiles had `pointed' at. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Lin Huang, Please see below:- Yes, a child's bedroom can be placed above the kitchen. This is based on priority. For example, under the Eight House theory, if the bedroom is auspicious sector for your child, you can let him have the bedroom. Feng Shui is based on commonsense and it is belief that many fires in a home start in the kitchen. As fire rises, it may affect the bedroom above. But here, if it is an auspicious sector for the child, you can let him/her have the room. In the kitchen, one should always keep it clean and tidy. One can even invest in smoke detectors etc... The answer is similiar to the above. Yes you can especially if it is an auspiciou…

    1. Many donkey years ago while serving my army reservist obligations; 2. I recall a business minded army clerk of mine. He is always looking into business opportunities. 3. He is not always successful. Throughout our "15 years" of reservist training; his fortunes would wane. 4. For example, I recalled in our 6th year of reservist training, he asked for a ride. As he claimed that (due to the condition of his feet) he was unable to drive. 5. But later, I found out that his business failed and he had to sell his car. 6. Till today, I was still amazed at his outlook and his powers of observation. He mentioned that he has even studied the feasibility of going into those chil…

Dear Glyn, Truly sad to hear about the series of mishaps. On the surface, like you mentioned it looks like the effect of the Grand Duke. Perhaps, Shapes and Form may (or may not) be a further cause of it especially if the building profile has been `altered'. This is because, Shapes and Form has been known to result in such tragedies. 1. After a home has been built, it is much harder to change the location especially of the sewerage pipe connected to both your WC. 2. Of course, if a proper Feng Shui analysis has been done; normally, it would be recommended not to have both the WC's on each side of the main entrance door. But, after the home has been built, either have to live with it or do corrective actions. 3. Corrective actions may not be needed if there are no further "wealth leaks" in the home. And some homes can still sustain toilet(s) at the frontage and still survive. While some homes may face problems especially related to both wealth and career issues. 4. The second issue of the "top" o…

Dear Anon, Thanks for your description. In my opinion, it is inauspicious under the Shapes and Form Feng Shui for the staircase to be seen from the front door. Since it is inappropriate to use a screen, the door facing the staircase should not be opened. Overall, if you have a choice, (if you can) try to find another better house. As the above is bad Feng Shui and since one cannot use a screen; difficult to cure. Warmest Regards, Cecil

These are some considerations: 1. Please see attached illustration. 2. What you mentioned comes under thegreen shaded area: Eight House or Eight Mansions Feng Shui. 2.1. Where your best directions and sectors are SW, W, NW and NE. 2.2. For your second part of the enquiry: S is fire element but my kitchen is E location..... 3. For this 2nd part; it also involves: all those highlighted inYELLOW in the chart. 4. Unfortunately, you cannot simply use or apply the shadedGREEN area = eight house in ISOLATION. 5. In the chart; you will see that Eight House and Flying Stars belong to the Compass School of Feng Shui, also. 6. I am truly afraid, if you were to DIY or want to DIY, y…

  10. Dear Anon, Usually, when placing windchimes the most important question asked is: 1. I am placing a windchime simply for the `love' (enjoyment) of it or 2. I am placing one or more windchimes because I read that it is good to have windchimes. If it is Para 1, usually a single windchime should not be a problem and if one usually go with our feelings, and place it at a location, one is comfortable with then there is not much issue here. (Unless, it happens to be one of the `bad' sectors where metal should not be used. For example, under Feng Shui, one should do a Flying Star analysis especially one is placing a metallic wind chime at the NW and West sector (which are Metal …

Dear Anon, On reading your `concept' it sounds interesting. It is more a case of `desperately' trying to find a location to activate a mountain star. *No offense* I mean it as a joke. The above is considered a `flaw' concept. This is because there are two methods to divide a house into either 9 proportionate squares or use a pie chart dividing the house into 8 sectors with an extra sector at the centre of the house. One sector represents a compass direction. I understand what you are saying. It is like an `L' shaped house and you can further divide the two rectangles of the `L' shape into the two rectangles. As much as we want to have mountain stars in our home, we cannot…

Thank you so much for taking the time to answer my questions. I really do understand (or thought I did) the five elements concept clearly. I believe my confusion comes from reading conflicting information. i.e Idiots guide: center of home: 3(sitting)7 (facing)5 construction. their comment was: Metal pierces wood, domination cycle involving the unfavorable #3 and prevailing but inherently unfavorable #7 - add reductive phase water. ISN'T #7 LUCKY UNTIL 2004 WHEN THE CYCLE CHANGES? Am I making too much out of this? Any good books you could recommend? Thanks soooo much.

  13. Dear Sherry, Sherry Shao-To wrote: A couple of years ago we heard some strange noises on the top of our roof above our master bedroom. At first we thought it could be mice, but realized they were birds. We figured they had built a nest up there and my husband wanted to get rid of it. Well, it's a two story house and even with a 10 ft. ladder, the roof was far from reach. Therefore, we just ignored it and eventually it went away. Well, this year the birds came back and made their home at the exact same placeon our roof above the master bedroom again. I can't see them because it's so high.So I'm curious does it have a meaning and are these birds good lu…

  14. Dear Francisco, There are two ways to look at it. If you sell things complementary to the needs for the dead, probably you will do quite well. If you don't, and, then you will definately not benefit from it. So if you think your business is affected by it, better move out to a better location. Don't know how else to advise you here. 16. Dear Pema, In my opinion, it is best to monitor the situation first since it is newly painted. The only best option is to make sure that the interior of the home has sufficent natural lighting (if possible) to create a more Yang environment. Other options include analysing the front entrance door using Flying Star analysis to confirm your `findings'. In situations where there is a `bad wood' or star #3 at the front door: combined with the brown colour representing wood, it may not be good as the brown color would further `enhance' the bad wood #3. This may not be `true' under your circumstances, you may need to take note of it. Warmest Regards, Cecil ----- Original Messag…

Dear MK, In my opinion, the balcony is not the best place to place an altar - especially if it is subject to the elements (e.g. rain or direct sunlight). For plants, there is often no specific plant but rather, for indoor plants often, they should have "waxy" leaves and darker green colour. Warmest Regards, Cecil

  20. Started by maxrosen,

Dear Max, Yes, with proper soil analysis and soil management especially drainage and structurally sound retaining walls, houses built as you had mentioned can be auspicious. Many a times, some of the various reasons below compounded by weather may cause landslides: 1. In many instances, too many houses were built on these hills providing downward pressure on the hill. This is less of an issue if there are no heavy downpours. But if there are heavy downpours, coupled by poor retaining walls or vegetation.. a landslide may be eminent. 2. Ideally, the best hills are those of limestones (hard rocks). Warmest Regards, Cecil

Thanks Cecil. Drier skin isn't something I had thought of. I'll check into it. I've also heard that some people use copper or other metals to help with these types of things, but I can't find which kind to try. The shocks are quite bad (and painful). Grounding does help but isn't always easy to do (esp when petting an animal). Food is another interesting one. I'll start keeping track of when the shocks get worse. Thanks, MaryAnne

  22. These are some of the considerations: 1. Fixed template vs Flying star Feng Shui Flying Star Feng Shui belongs to the Compass School and each home can be classifed as belonging to one of the 15 mountains of which, there is a flying star chart based on each home layout plan. If you are referring to those western based Feng Shui where they have a Ba gua map in a fixed format; for example: North = career etc... then all Traditional Geomancy or Feng Shui school don't use such things. Dear Anon, 1. One thing for sure, most of us would (intuitively) feel uncomfortable about this - especially if; one leaves one's main door open. 2. Yes, it is best to take a `peep' on the type of god that they are worshipping (other than their ancestor tablet). 3. Here, it is important to have an idea what they are `doing'. 3.1 For example, if they are worshipping a statue of a buddha and/or Goddess of Mercy; This would imply that their main purpose is for the " Protection " of their home. 3.2 But if they are worshipping " God of Wealth " or any other figurines holding e.g. a long sword; then this can be considered as a `sha' qi. 3.3 For example, Para 3.2 can be considere…

If you are applying Flying Star:- 1. the Mountain Star #9 with Water Star #7 in general is not a major issue. Unless one further takes into consideration base or palace star #2. 2. Since you are looking at the "stars"; you should also check where #2 and #5 are in relation to your home. 3. For example, are annual #2 and #5's found in your dad's bedroom and/or frontage or any other sectors.....

  25. Started by syeung,

Dear Sandra, Since you cannot do much in terms of furniture layout, you can consider placing a display small dragon (can be made of glass or other materials) to aim it directly at the edge (or tangent) to the edge of the cabinet. This is a mild form of cure. Other alternatives include placing a fork aimed at the edge or a small toy cannon. I believe you should be able to place e.g. the dragon on the edge of the table such that it can be aimed at the edge and not aimed at your body. I hope this is achievable. If you are unable to have a straight path between e.g. the dragon and the edge of the cabinet, then, it is best not to place one on the table. (If it can `hit' you.)…
