Dear Anon, Please see below:- Happy New Year! Since Chinese Lunar New Year falls on 12th February 2002 and the celbration lasts for 15 days, it is advisable to do it after 25th February 2002. If the leak is serious, you can do it say after 15th February 2002. Wishing You all the Best! Warmest Regards, Cecil Lee

Dear Cecil Thankyou for your time.. I desperately seek your help on behalf of myself, my family and my business. I live in Australia with my wife and 2 daughters (aged 6 & 9). I was born on 17th May, 1959 and am a self-employed 'Internet Business' owner.. A) Last year (Feb-June 2002), we renovated our home to build a 70 square metre 'Home Office' to enable a hopeful expansion of our business and income, which had been suffering for some 2 years whilst building our business. Only Half way through renovations we consulted our Feng Shui books and learnt of 'Grand Duke' presence in the area of the new changes.. All through the building upgrades, obstacles seemed to keep c…

Dear Spring, Traditional Chinese customs does not have a "Tai Sui" talisman i.e. they are not called Grand Duke nor Tai Sui talisman. However, there are some standard charms to be placed above doors (purpose? To ward off evil). The blessed charms are obtained usually from Taoist priests. Warmest Regards, Cecil

  7. My grandmother has passed away 1 week ago but I want to buy HDB resale apartment to live nearby my workplace. I read that I need to wait 100 days after her passing before I can move in. Within these 100 days: Can I still go for housing viewing right now? Can I buy HDB resale apartment right now? Can I collect key if I manage to buy one? Can I open the HDB door for renovation? I understand that there is open ceremony and I have to find an auspicious date to open the door. So do I have to wait 100 days before I can open the door? If yes, I will have to wait until almost mid July. Then, allow ID to renovate my house. I guess during renovation p…

Dear Lisa, In general, (I really have to say this) because, one has to be physically present to analyse the site even though you have given some description of the site: Here are some guidelines:- 1. Is this site an existing burial site. If it is an existing, can you find out more if this site has ever being Feng Shuied before? 2. If the question above is Yes (it has been Feng Shuied before) than try to find out who actually Feng Shuied the site? We do not want the site to be said to be Feng Shuied but the result is it is " Feng Shuied " by people from the Black Hat Sect. 3. If it has been Feng Shui especially a Chinese Teochew Master, then usually you can be rest assured…

  10. Dear Felicia, In this situation, we can apply the Yin and Yang Principle. Under the Yin and Yang Principle, grave sites and the Church are considered " Yin ". In such a situation, you need to counteract this with Yang element. What you can do here is:- 1. If your house has brick walls, natural red brick walls are ideal. Red is the most Yang of all the colours. 2. If the walls are plastered and smoothed, you can paint this side of the wall red or any other Yang colours e.g. bright green, bright blue etc... 3. For the window frame, you should also paint it in matching bright colours. 4. Avoid too many trees particularly large ones as this can harbour the `spirits'. Please a…

Dear Ng, 1. From what I understand, your child is only a baby. But if your child is grown up around 2 years or more, it is best not to be wonder too closely to the graveyard area. 2. If there is a `funeral ceremony' best to stay clear of the back of the house or see the activities. 3. Where possible, there should not be too large trees at the back of your baby sister's home. If it is, even in day time it would not be advisable to have your child in this environment. 4. Usually, in the day time, it is less of a problem. But if your child constantly cries at your baby sitter's home, it is best not to have him/her stay with the babysister, otherwise, it is still acceptable. …

Dear Anon, Sounds like the location you referred to is `Siglap'. Usually, with modernisation, most of these locations are acceptable. 1. Usually, for a home located on a gravesite, so long as all the graves are dugged up, this is acceptable. Many homes in Singapore have been built on `reclaimed land' for burial. 2. The Yin Qi will usually `wear' off as it is inhibited by people Yang energy. What is more important at this point is to make sure that the house conforms to the Shapes and form School. For example, try to make sure that the house do not have missing corners. It is situated such that the water position if any is not at the back of the home. Warmest Regards, Ceci…

  15. 1. The Chinese invented the chopsticks. 2. The chopstick is a great tool for those who are dieting or intending to have a good figure! 3. When we use the chop sticks; we can only grap hold of morsels or bite sized food at one go. And by eating bite sized and slowly; this is one of the secrets to having a good figure! 4. How often, we don't use this tool and just imagine; holding onto a large hamburger and swallowing it in just a few minutes!

This is because, this falls under the Shapes and Form School and it is best to be present to look at the location before providing any comments. Not that I do not `trust' your words but in order to provide a good assessment, one has to be physically present to `review' this type of `question'. Hope you understand. This is because unlike a `True' dragon or tiger where you can actually see the profile,…

Dear Lee Hui, lee hui wrote: I am confused on how to determine the "Green dragon" n "White tiger" direction. Should i determineinside the house or outside the house before i step into the house. pls advise.Thank you. This all depends on which frontage/facing direction you take to evaluate this concept. For example, if you take the living room frontage, then the frontage comes the front where the phoenix should be while the back is the tortise and the East side or Left side of the house should be the Green Dragon while the West side or Right side of the house should be the White Tiger. So the best thing you can do is first determine the frontage, then assign the four sym…

    1. Please note that in the past, a good site is always influenced by the dragon with gentle embrace of the tiger (landscape). 2. For a burial site; often it is best to be situated on the SOUTH-SIDE of a hill and the burial plot faces south. This the big picture is the "landscape" not just the plot and it's surroundings if that is what you are trying to figure out. The key here is the "big" picture of a land... 3. Thus, a good burial site is a hill where all the cemetry plot faces south.

Dear Anon, Many years back, I had written on the issue of "long houses". For example, many years back, the long house e.g in Sarawak is pretty unique and quite similar to your case. However, their long house can even be longer than the 120 ft long as you had mentioned. Yes, unfortunately, between the pie and the grid, if it is a long house than the grid method is often preferred over the pie in your case. Thus, no choice, long and thin would be the better way to analyse the home vs the pie which is difficult to apply in such a type of home. Warmest Regards, Cecil Anonymous wrote: I live in a house that is 18 ft wide and 120 ft long. When I use the Flying Star Pie me…

    1. Yeah, hammering 3 nails isas what you had mentioned; not the norm. Or if I can be frank enough "weird". 2. Firstly, from a commonsense approach:needs lots ofstrength and often even hammering nails into wood is hard enough not to say hammering nails into the walls. 3. Symbolically, it may even be a double edgedsword: beforemoving into a new home: itmay even beconsidered inauspicious todriving three nails into one's home. Anonymous wrote: We were told that renovating the house on the 7thmonth is not auspicious and therefore our fengshui consultanttold us to hammer 3 nailson the wall near the window. 4. I have seen groupings of three like this before as landscapers typically recommend this type of groupings. Yes, when we pray using joss stick, we normally use 3 joss stick. Dear Carina, Where possible, place plants especially on both sides of the balcony. If the plants flower this would be `great.' For cactus, you can still place them in the balcony. Although it has been frequently mentioned that it is not auspicious to do so. Do so, if you really liked them else, where possible (in my opinion) try not to `use' them if you can. For a balcony, so long as it is within the house, it can be considered in the living area especially if you have sliding doors and immediately get to see it. Frankly, placing cactus is quite a subjective issue. For some people who are not aware of Feng Shui, in my opinion, so far, I do not see any ill effects on them…

Dear Anthi, It is best to grow plants in a garden. In my opinion, for plants grown e.g. on the balcony, or interior of the house e.g. in an apartment/flat it would depend on the type of indoor plant. Not all outdoor or plants that require sunlight can be grown in the house. It would therefore be nice if one has an area in the flat or apartment for natural sunlight to flow and open space especially the balcony area where rain water can at times `splash' on them. For indoors, in my opinion, planting plants can be quite tedious if there is not enough sunligh. And one may often need to bring them out to sun. Warmest Regards, Cecil
