Dear DeVon, If one intends to harmonize a home using Feng Shui, you may have to: 1. Do lots of `homework' in finding out not only the Principles and Concepts of the various Feng Shui techniques but also how to apply them properly. This can start from reading up books, taking up courses etc... 2. Alternatively, the most `hassle free' method is to consult a competent FS practitioner to do a home audit. Dear All, I am starting to learn about Feng Shui and I am pretty confused trying to harmonize 8 Mansions, Flying Star and Annual Star. Based on 8 Mansions, my house sits NW (door is in the SE). Based on Flying Star, I believe my house is NW as well since we have a beautiful big lake on the back of our house (so according to my interpretation of Lillian Too's book, the back of my house becomes facing direction in Flying Star because it is the area that has the best view). This leads to my Water Star 8 and Mountain Star 6 being in the Northwest (Metal). Based on these details, I don't know if I should place a Water feature in the NW to activate the Water Star 8 since wate…

Dear Alice, Other than thru the use of and interpretation through Pillars of Destiny, or more generally, Chinese astrology, it is best to look elsewhere for an `answer/solution' to this. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Wasis, 1. In Feng Shui, the Chinese Loupan can be used as a `ghost' detector. Especially if the middle compass `swings'. 2. Under the Flying Star analysis, by looking at the 9 grids where there are #mountain #water and base numbers with a high concentration of YIN elements, this is most likely a case where there can be a haunting at the sector. This is particularly so, at the sectors North East (Devil's gate) and South West (Devil's back door). The interpretation of the Flying Star numbers can sometimes contain e.g. rope, young lady and red. Here, the interpretation could be a possible suicide e.g. a Young lady dressed in red hung herself. 3. Other methods is based o…

Good afternoon Mr. Lee, May I ask if a house is haunted, does it mean that the house are totally uninhabited or is there a way to restore the 'health' of the house? Thankyou. Jason

1. What you mentioned has more to do with common sense than Feng Shui. 2. As black absorbs heat more easily than other "lighter" colours. 3. During the 1st Chinese Emperor's reign, he made his ministers and scholars wear BLACK. (To represent water element). Thus BLACK does not necessarily means or impliesinauspicious. 4. Under the I-Ching blue represent difficulty. Thus if it is not BLUE, but black.. still not an issue unless one thinks "wrongly". 5. In war time in the 1940's to 1960's, wouldn't be great if the house roof is black in colour? Natural camofluage in the dark. 6. By the way, it does not matter or rather, just because you are a strong wood and he is a weak ear…

I have to many Angles and arches in my Living area. Front entrance is good, but the way this place was built I have An A Arch in kitchen and angles throughout. Is this good or bad? If bad how what can I put to correct it? Would crystal chandelier be good ?? The kitchen and the rest of my home is being painted tomorrow --- I just purchased this home. So therefore, Just letting you know that this is what it looks like when someone moved in, I am now painting the entire home Creme/biege with Gray Accent. I am a West person, (monkey) Although the front of my home faces East the entrance (garage) is how I enter is facing west. Thanks, Maria

In Feng Shui, this may even imply that a certain home is not suitable to the pig (erh... person)

Dear Samantha, Congratulations! What you had mentioned is not Feng Shui but Chinese `belief' that when one is pregnant, one must not move the furniture especially your bed. To ward off bad influence, usually, the case is for an expecting mum not to be present during the move or to `see' the move. Put it another way, you should not be involved (in anyway) on the day of the move i.e stay at your parents or other family members home during the shift. Dear Chee Siong, 1. Yes, this is a recent and very common sight in HDB (Housing and Development Board's) design of not just your apartment but of many apartments. 2. Usually, the driveway or drop-off point is a single lane road. In my opinion, there is not much issue or worry with it. Even though one may worry that it looks like a partial `sickle' e.g. as found under the previous Russian communist flag. Where the sickle is like a Sha Qi or poison arrow. The rationle for not worrying is that it is not elevated and it does not pose a problem. Contrast this with e.g. a railway or mass rapid transit rail tracks. If one stays at e.g. storey or floor/unit 3, and if so happens …

Dear Casey, Casey Wong wrote: hi I'm planning to get a tattoo design of a KOI fish on my leg somewhere around the calf area. Therefore, my question is whether will this effect my feng shui, since tattoo is permanent. Thanks in advance. Frankly, tattoos are more commonly associated with gangsters especially in singapore during the 1950's, 1960's and 1970s. So it already have a negative impact. You see just like why people have bad impression on number say 4 = die, when most think about tatoo it often relates to something bad or illegal. In feng shui, you want to have more good influence than bad influence, so naturally, tattoo would also be viewed as having bad influen…

Dear Sophie, Further to what I mentioned; besides the ba zi element i.e. Heaven chart of a child, the most important consideration has to be biological! Usually, doctors would advise women to give birth as early as possible as when we turn 35 years old (unfortunately) some (women) may have difficulty conceiving. And sometimes the older we get the greater the risk of having children. Above, is just food for thought! Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Ang Chye, For married couples, it is not adviseable to us/placee two beds joined together. But for children, there should not be an issue of joining the two beds together to form a bigger bed. The best advise is if one is using two sets of bed is to leave a gap between the two beds. These are some considerations: 1. Often, what seems to be missing corners may be the reverse i.e. a protusion or protusions. 2. Frankly, verbal descriptions like I have missing cornders at SW and SE. 2.1. Even within this simple sentence; there are lots of unknows: 2.2. How large a missing corner, whether the missing corner straddles between one true cardinal point(s) and or 2.3. How large is the missing corner(s) 2.4. Is the missing corner narrow or fat or thin or what...??? 3. Seriously, so far, I believe no geomancer or let's say in a doctor's situation: 3.1. Your posting is like calling up a doctor to describe some medical situation. What is even more pressing is, …

Dear Simon, Further to what I had mentioned, in-fact everyday while reading new messages posted to this forum is indeed a new learning experience. Given that no two situation are often alike, it is always foolhardy to use only YES or NO? (Is it true? type of question). In fact, there are many well documented cases of great lawyers who, can argue or fight cases, some of them, which may seem hopeless (to defend). Yet, these people can turn around "the jury". Thus, I can only say "It depends". Often, there is no right or wrong answers. It depends on how, one puts up his or her argument or logic to support their case. In Singapore, not all buildings have equal heights. Thus, …

Yes, indeed I do agree fully with you that"the mouth of the apartment is most likely to be from the balcony / living room side". Especially since you mentioned that the windows along the corridor is always closed - this is a vital and important clue! Here, I believe, you got the fundamentals right with regards to the "mouth" of the house!

1. Compare your illustration and the sample shown, here. 2. I have masked out the street and blocks so that no one knows where this location is. 3. This sample, is easier to understand vs a blob of rectangle as the unit or flat in which one stays in. 4. Although the illustration is not to scale, but the person took the effort to illustrate especially the row of windows at the living room area. 5. Thus for a 2D perspective, the details of layout is a plus point!

Dear Elmo, elmo boy wrote: I have read that most HDB "main door" is actually not at the living room door of the HDB apartment. It is actually where the most light and wind come in. I just got a apartment and the living room door face anotherapartment unit's door. While the other direction of my flat is my balcony where most wind and light come in. This depends on the whether the layout. Some layout is such that the facing of the house is better taken from where most like comes into the house. We have actually written an article on this subject:- 3. Landed property, best to take the facing of the…
