Seek General Advice from Master Cecil Lee

  1. Dear Lysa, 1. As a `beginner' to Feng Shui, I suggest you take your time to `digest' all the various forms of Feng Shui. 2.The main consideration is that most of the time, most of us do not really need Feng Shui to enhance our lives (contrary to what some may think). 3. Some of the questions one can ask if one really (or desperately need Feng Shui is):- For self: 3.1. Does one or a family member falls sick often? 3.2. Does accidents or misfortune occur? Usually, if the answer is No for both 3.1 and 3.2, one do not really need Feng Shui. As these are no longer `life threatening' situations and if one can live without Feng Shui for so long, why not live without it. Many …

Dear Lee Robert Thanks though for replying. Ummm, I do have one more question in mind. Here in a city in the philippines we have a geomancer named rev. father wongsengtian a taoist priest. He is called a fengshui master. Though he also is gifted with psychic abilities that he uses in assessing the chi of an area, as for cures he prescribes using charms like this Patron saints emblem or holy lotus? Is this still connected with feng shui or superstition. I thought feng shui is not connected with religion? Thanks, godspeed

Dear Jaye, Jaye E wrote: How do you compute for the percentage of the five elements balance in the 10 year luck pillars please??? thank you. This percentage in every 10-yearly luck pillars was specially tabulated by us for our users. We make use of the different 10-yearly/5-yearly/yearly/6-monthly luck changes to factor out a weightage for each luck period. This value is then factored into the inital percentage to allow users to see howthe percentage changes during each 10-yearly luck. For example, inital luck period you may only have 10% fire. But in certain luck period where fire becomes much more, then percentage can increase to a much higher percentage. Telling yo…

Dear Tulip, Thank you for your sketch. Usually priority should be given to Shapes and Form Feng Shui. You can check out the two proposed layout plan and see if one of the layout suits your Kua number. Warmest Regards, Cecil

  5. Dear Felicia, Apparently, you are new to Feng Shui. 1. For the elusive "wealth corner" there are quite alot of things to take note off! 2. Authentic Feng Shui involves especially understanding Shapes and Forms and Compass School Feng Shui: Eight House / Flying star. 3. If para 2 seems greek, than either if you want to D.I.Y. then got to start from fresh going thru various concepts such as those under Para 2. 4. In addition, the most common mistake made by many of us is: often, we think in terms of only " where is my wealth sector" Not realising that : " Fix-the-leak, first!" 5. For example, many us heard of this story about this boy who tried to save Holland. He lit…

But no matter which type it is; the traditional Luo Pan has it's needle (always) pointed towards the magnetic"south" and the opposite side facing north. Dear Anon, Can I check with you whether are the 2 rectangular chimneys (tangent) or if you stand at the window, and looking out directly, (without looking sideways) can you see the two rectangular chimneys? Usually, if you are in doubt, one can use the curtains (but if it is too dark) then use window blinds. Warmest Regards, Cecil

    1. Take a look at this link: http://www.geomancy.net/events/CDL_FS_Talk/talk_1_slide_19.htm 2. Frankly, you are only trying to apply "one miserable" concept of Feng Shui. 3. As the above link implies: there are many "styles" in Kung Fu and in Feng Shui; there are many concepts not just again : Feng Shui cannot rely only on the Eight House concept. 4. No wonder, drawing a parallel to Kung Fu, one would be beaten to a pulp if one applies one concept only... 5. The same goes, here.. 6. By "hook or by ...... " one has to apply more concepts then talk about realistic ways to either:- 6.1. Enhance qi and hey! 6.2. Also neutralise bad qi... The saying goes it takes two hands …

Dear Caroline, For now, we can only look at it from the Shapes and Form perspective. 1. The plus point in such an arrangement is that there is no way, you have `bad sha qi' where Qi enters the house and exits it immediately e.g. a back door or back windows or balcony at the other side. 2. As you mentioned that it `blocks' the guest bathroom, this would be acceptable. Although, it would be nice if we do not have a bathroom so close to the main entrance sector. Other than the above, you may choose to do a Flying Star or if everything seems ok, dispense with such an audit. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, More importantly, you should have completed your renovations on or after Chinese New Year 2004. In addition, if you had given your townhousea fresh coat of paint then the better. In addition, if your townhouse feels fresh and does not have too much clutter all over, then there is a very high likelyhood, that you home can be considered as more of a Period 8 home. Thank you, I will try this. Now I need advice for the office there is some one here that wants to get me fired, at least that's the conclusion I've come to.She vandelizes my desk and when she does something wrong she finds a way to blame me for it. She is very cunning and hasvery convincable ways of going about this. She dumps all of her work on me and she doesn' t do a thing all day. I work as hard as I can, and thanks to her I'm not getting the credit I deserve, she gets credit for things she doesn't even do. When I get a good idea and she hears it, she goes to my bossand passes it as her idea. What can I do to stop this.

These are some considerations: 1. There are no cures for facing a good or bad direction. Why? Commonsense says that you either face a good direction or not. There is no if's or but's, here. 2. Are there known cures available for this theory of good directions? Check out this link:The Three-Step-Approach 3. You have to apply other concepts like the Flying Star etc.. to try and maximise luck from elsewhere....

Dear Judy, Please see below:- In general:- 1. Auspicious symbols e.g. each of the mandarin characters Fu Lu Shou can be carved a string of auspicious character as borders e.g. say outside the building or on a piece of furniture. I personally have a table lamp that has carved piece of "Fu" character table lamp. Here, these are auspicious symbols, that are part of the furniture or fittings. 2. The `taboo' or `superstition' is that if it is a figurine of one of the deities etc... it should be `treated with dignity and respect'. Thus, for objects that are `alive' or figurines, try to avoid placing them at locations I had mentioned earlier such as next to a toilet wall. …

  18. Started by sun888_99,

Dear Anon, There is much truth in this statement: 1. Grass or grass that is regularly `trimmed' is the near equivalent to a water position. The logic behind it is clear. Grass allows the space to be flat and clear of obstructions. 2. If one plant a tree, in no time, it will outgrow its size and become large. It is inauspicious particularly to grow a lone tree on the side of a house. A lone tree in Feng Shui implies that the tree can harbour a spirit. A large tree at the front of the house (e.g. on either side of the main door) creates a Yin environment. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Thank you so much for your reply I very much appreciate it. It has made things very clear for me and now I can proceed with confidence. I do have a very good compass and as a matter of interest if you have Google Earth and then zoom down to look at your property, at the top of the page in "TOOLS" there is an option for "RULER" click this and the click two points on your property this will give you a very accurate direction of your property. I have double checked this with my compass and it is very accurate. Of course not to be relied upon but as a way to double check it is invaluable. My best regards and thanks again. Dale.

    1. The most likely facing direction should be "apartment building that is elevated above street level and is facing the ocean" or the apartment building "facing" direction. 2. If the home has a "known" history e.g. if one has stayed in this home for several or more years, can draw a chart based on Para 1 and usually another chart (standing inside the main entrance door looking outside of the home). These two are the main defacto "facing" directions commonly used by all professional Feng Shui practitioners. Dear Alison, You will be surprised to learn that many `good' houses have doors on the side of the house. For the following reasons:- 1. The greatest advantage of this is that their is simply no way of having a neigbhour's poison arrow or any poison arrow on the frontage of the house. In my opinion, it is thus advantages to have the main door at the side based on the above reasoning. 2. I am not there to see how narrow the side where the front door is. Ideally, it should be the space where a car can drive `thru'; parked and you can enter the main entrance door. This is the best (ideal senario) for a house with a side door. 3. On the question of Dragon and Tiger, to elabor…

  23. Dear Hoa Luong, I reproduce the method for calculating the steps for the beneifit of some of the users, here:- --- Start --- Introduction: 1. In Feng Shui, there are two traditional methods of determining the number of steps. 2. The first method is a 3 number combination. Where the first two steps are Auspicious but the last step is inauspicious. METHOD 1 - THE THREE-STEP CYCLE ======== 3. Thus under the `Three-steps formula' step No. 1 (Auspicious), Step No. 2 (Inauspicious) while Step No. 3 is considered inauspicious. Usually this 3rd step is known as the `death' step. 3.1 Thus:- Following this method, one should be able to work out the number of steps:- 3.2 A…

Under symbolism in Feng Shui; more importantly, the object should not: look fierce, seems "hungry"; thin or skinny. That sort of thing. It is quite subjective; but overall, since this is a family home, consult with family member about their opinion of the object. The so called "lucky cat" is not a Chinese origin. It originates from Japan. Yeah, the one where one of it's limbs (paws) waving. This "lucky cat" looks more like a pussy cat.. Thus, it would be a joke if somehow someone mistook it for a lion or leopard or jaguar of sorts... *smile*
