Centre of the hse facing the main door and at the centre of the door ( as seen your sample) or the balcony or living room In general, we have come up with some guidelines for the facing direction to make it easy to apply. For apartments (2nd - 7th level), you take the main door as your house facing. ie standing at the main door looking outwards. For apartments (8th level and up), you take the facing direction of the living room/balcony. ie stand inside your living room looking outwards. These two method give you facing direction which allows your…

Dear Gerard, In my opinion, often these sun-shades do not pose a `threat' to a neighbour. In fact, I believe, HDB had already for many years back installed sun shade - in particular; for bedroom windows facing west or south west direction. Many of these windows have `clear space' i.e. often no obstruction as far as 500 metres or more (from another block of flats). What is worse is this `test': Sometimes, the next block is a full wall. And when we stand inside of the home, looking outwards, we tend to get `glare' or light reflected from such neighbouring block's walls. And this glare is `sha qi'. Many of the sun-screens as you had mentioned covers mostly a level higher tha…

  9. HDB Tampines GREENridges & Precinct Pavilions When choosing a stack/unit; some of us often over-look where the precinct pavilions are. Don't get me wrong, one advantage of living at high floors above such a structure may often mean that the views are unblocked. But if one's stack/unit is at low storeys e.g. 2 to 5 storeys high and depending on the distance the precinct pavilons are; one could literally looked into the "activities" if any within these pavilions which on occassions hold a wake (funeral) or two... And worse still if they are held during one's auspicious festive occasions such as the 15 days of Chinese New Year. It is good to …

Dear Anon, 1. A key ingredient of Feng Shui is qi flow. 2. Given that there is an upgradig of the grounds and facade. And also the roof has been modified or enhanced, this is very strong grounds for qi change. And thus, most likely, will affect your house period. 3. It is very interesting to note that, currently our life span is relatively short e.g. 60 to 80 or even 90 years. 4. Since one Flying Star chart is based on 20 years each, many Feng Shui practitioners that are alive today, cannot really provide an exact answer. Anyone claiming to be 100 percent sure - should be looked at with a pinch of salt. 5. Here, for example if a Feng Shui practitioner is say 58 years old…

[HDB stands for Housing and Development Board or Government Development Housing for the masses in Singapore. I believe, 90 percent of Singaporeans stay in these flats]. Dear Anon, 1. Even under Feng Shui, there are priorities and importance. Threats of serious importance are e.g. sharp corner of another building aimed at the house. 2. Secondly, usually, if I am not mistaken: 2.1 These service yards, are not aimed against the door of another apartment. Perhaps, the window of another block's service yard. 2.2 In my opinion, these are `weak' threats or no threats at all. Frankly, I have yet to come across or seen a `neighours bamboo poles aimed at another's main door. Mayb…

  15. Please see attachment. This layout is preferred over the other one. As the bed is parallel to the bedroom walls. However, in a larger bedroom, your second alternative "slanting the bed" is practised by some Geomancers. Overall, do check that the toilet bowl particularly the piping is not sharing the same wall as your "face" when you sleep. There is a cause of concern of cancer in such a situation.

    1. It's a pity that only in this "crazy" world of Fast Food Feng Shui would someone want to change the bed-head position annually. Think about this! 2. Who in their right frame of mind has ever considered moving the bed, and re-arranging, say the bed room console, and internal arrangements in a bedroom? Again, only those too free or nothing else better to do. 3. Chinese Beliefs: Pregnancy VS Moving Bed - Annually Many Chinese believe that if one is pregnant, one MUST never move the bridal bed, else there could be a likelyhood of an aborted birth. Thus all these talk about moving bed-head to "cater" to the whims and fancies of the Grand Duke or the three killings is …

  17. Dear Master Lee: I sent this question to you by E-mail already because I can not attache my floor plan due to the big file, I don't know you received it or not, or the question is over the limit for free advice? My floor plan has the family room, garage, and bedroom4(2nd floor) under the same roof which is lower than the main roof, but the family room is separated from the kitchen area(under the main roof) by half wall, and there is door from the main house to the garage, the 2nd floor bedroom4 is over the garage. The question is : should I use one nine grid for the whole house, or should I use two nine grids...one is for the main house, and another one for the garage …

  19. Dear Ed, Generally, this can still be done especially if you find that this is one of the better or best positions within the bedroom. From a commonsense approach to Feng Shui, so long as one draws the curtain (for privacy) or if one has young children, avoid letting it be opened as children may climb over it. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Berth, It is best to attach a graphic file under the conference: " Conference for Attaching Layout " as this is easier to look and understand your situation. By the way, you mentioned that the `west' wall has an entrance but no doors. Does it mean that your bedroom does not have any doors. Thanks and looking forward to your layout sketch of the bedroom. 21. Started by cell,

Hello Master Lee. While shopping for bed frames I noticed that many designs have a gap or open space where the mattress goes under the headboard. Headboards that completely block the mattress from the wall are actually very rare. I included an example picture below to show what I mean. My guess is that this a very minor or non-issue since the mattress would cover the gap completely, so the headboard is not visibly "open." Am I thinking about this correctly?

Dear Olivia, I have sketched out the basic good designs on the wall behind the head-board. Generally, the worst kind of head board is in the shape of "tomb-stones" & "circle" shapes. Quite similiar to the attachment - inauspicious wall facade design. Please click on the attachment. Olivia Kim wrote: Will it be possible to tell me if there are certain head board design types that are considered more auspicious than others? Can you share which of those are?

Dear Tanja, In my opinion, the best trouble-shoot is to apply Flying Star Feng Shui. Most likely certain sectors of your home is affected by one or a combination of any of these "sickness" stars:- #5 misfortune /sickness #2 sickness and often "severe" health issues could be attributed to the addition of #9 to any one or both or a combination of these stars e.g. #5 with #5 with #9 = very, very bad health issues #5 with #9 = equally very, very bad health issues and the severity of health issues can come from any combinations or singular #5, #2 and or #9. In particulars watch out for these stars particularly in any bedrooms and/or frontage of the home or living room a…

Dear Patricia, Regarding Health related problems, it is usually caused by the following:- 1. It could be because you are staying in a bedroom which happens to fall within your bad sectors based in the 4 good and 4 bad directions (Eight House Report). Most likely you are staying in a bedroom sector which is Death or Disaster. Or sleeping in your Death or Disaster. If this is the case, you should try to sleep at least in one of your good sectors such as Health or Longevity. Or re-locate yourself in a better bedroom which is one of 4 good sector. Please use the Free Eight House report to help you determine this. 2. There could be likely a combination of illness/sickness st…
