Dear Sudha, Please see below:- Glad that you found the information useful:) The most important points to consider when using the Eight House is: 1. How suitable is the house to the breadwinner. As you have mentioned you can take into consideration your elder sister as the breadwinner. Preferably, the death or disaster intangible forces do not flow thru the main door for her. In this case, it is considered that the house is not suitable for her. 2. For yourself, it is less of a concern other than to check which locations you spent most of the time at. For example, where best, the inauspicious intangible lines do not flow thru your bedroom. Check out for the rest o…

  3. Dear Anon, It is important to remember to display the coins even if they are binded together. They will still show the number of coins i.e. 6 coins. But, if we stack the coins together (exactly) and tie them together, you would only see `one coin' but a very thick one coin. Here, unless one goes closely to count them, it simples looks like ONE coin although it is rather `thick'. This is why, one must string the coins and at a glance, show 6 coins. Furthermore, the red (as in the red string) represents the "fire" element to bind or control "big metal". As some kind of a check (and balance). The red tassle and infinity knot are simply meant as decorati…

Further to what I had mentioned, 1. I can only think of one acceptable logic for placing a piggy bank at a prominent location: this has more to do with psychology. 2. Usually, if someone tells us that a specific location is our wealth corner; we would consciously try to keep the place clear of other items. 3. And often when we pass thru this location, we may either sublimally think of money (earning money) or happy seeing money on our table. 4. Other than this explanation, it does not mean literally, by doing so, e.g. placing multiple $50 dollars or more notes or stacking fake notes into this bowl or piggy bank. Money cannot automatically fall down a hole thru the sky la…

Dear CM, For a home, you should be looking at the micro-level e.g. your actual condo or office unit's main door to check on suitability. Sometimes, when the building main entrance is looked at, it is often to apply Flying Star Feng Shui to look or study the qi of the building e.g. where to place a suitable water feature outside of the building and/or to build landscaping to suit the flying stars. Warmest Regards, Cecil Quote: Anonymous wrote: Eg. I am an East-group person, is it ok to choose a home/office where: - the building's main entrance is facing NE, SW, W, NW, - but the actual condo/office unit's main door is facing N, E, S, SE?

These are some considerations: 1. House number interpretation is altogether a different thing. Here, often: one man's meat is another man's poison. 1.1 Many Chinese are influenced e.g. by the Cantonese dialect group who distinctively hate " 4 " (die) and even 14 = sure to die 2. However, it has no relation to Feng Shui. But more towards personal feel good or bad factor and subsequently may affect resale value; should one put the home in the market. 3. Frankly, if one knows Shapes and Forms and Compass School Feng Shui; these two major schools can be used to analyse sucha foreclosed home and check whether there are any major fatal errors (if any). 4. At best, the common se…

Dear Dave, Thanks for sharing with us your information. In your situation, you can consider NE as the frontage of the house although there is no `front' door. You are not alone in this situation. In my country, many Housing Development Flats (developed by the government) for more than 90 percent of the population has this `bright hall' effect (although they have a front door.) Many a times I find the front door to be `darker' similiar to the `back' door of yours. I have given quite alot of examples on why this `fixed' template format is not a reliable FS method. Overall, if Feng Shui is so easy, and if everyone do the same, imagine an entire population following …

Dear Liz, Thanks very much for sharing with us your advise:) Yes, ideally, (if possible), it will help. I remembered also in a recent Feng Shui audit of a house, the toilet bowl (Yes, the toilet bowl) is directly above the main entrance door. The owner also encountered `financial' problems. Fortunately, the house has several toilets and after the toilet bowl was removed and covered up, things did turn up well for the owner. Simple things like this may look trival but important. The lesson here is thus to `plug' the weakness of a home. Or I mentioned that if there is a leak, please plug it first. Many people, have the wrong notion and instead of first curing the `disease',…

  11. Dear Anon, Appreciate if you can elaborate further as to what you mean by bad Feng Shui at the main entrance i.e what is the poison arrow. Usually, there is currently not much information about the `effects' of using a cross on the main door for such a purpose. Warmest Regards, Cecil

    1. In my opinion, it is best to get expert help. 2. In your country, especially if can check around and perhaps; have people can recommend a geomancer to visit your home to review the feng shui is the best option. 3. Alternatively, you can consider off-site Feng Shui services. 4. Generally, what you had mentioned is pretty common and many professional Feng Shui geomacers should be able to address your concerns. 13. These are some considerations: 1. In theory, under the Five Elements concept: 1.1. Wood fuels fire. 1.2. adding fire to fire 2. In general, Geomancy is considered as belonging to the wood element. There are lots of description with regads to Geomancy. And it range from "Healing" to "growth" - much likea tree suppose to grow etc.. 3. Adding Fire to Fire. 3.1 One of the key description of the Fire element is sales or marketing.. Hopefully, if you should venture into this field; don't be corrupted and end up going the lucrative way of selling products in the Name of Fung Sway. 3.2 There are lots of examples; in my opinionof Geomancers or book authors that if you trace thei…

  14. Started by Susan,

Dear Susan, It is quite common for the husband and wife to have "opposite" houses or kua under the Eight House Theory. Under the Eight House Theory, do look out for:- 1. How suitable the house is to the breadwinner i.e. one's kua or intangible force at the main entrance. 2. The Eight House relates to how much time we spent at a sector of the house. Thus it would be useful to know what is the intangible force for the spouse and husband in the bedroom. Where possible, let the person who beneifits most sleep closer to the intangible force. While the person who does not have a good influence sleep further away from that sector. (A good bonus is if one sleeps e.g. with the hea…

Dear Anon, In a past article in this website; I have mentioned that there was a study in Germany. Where it was reported that there were higher incidences of cancer for those who place their bed above a sewerage pipe. In your case, hopefully, the toilet bowl shares another wall (other than with your bed head). If so, so long as the toilet bowl does not share the same wall as your bed-head this is often fine. Just try to avoid having the toilet bowl (pipes) on the same wall as your bed-head. Warmest Regards, Cecil Quote: Anonymous wrote: I have a wallbetween my bedroom and bathroom. These are some considerations: 1. It is best to do a scientific triage. 1.1. What you mentioned is based purely on Shapes and Forms Feng Shui. In order?to apply this properly, if the evaluator is not on the ground to study the situation; sometimes : a photo tells a thousand words. 1.2. This is because, sometimes contrary to a lay person; what you had described: the wall at the front entrance; this may not even be the "FRONTAGE" under both Shapes and Forms and?Flying Stars Feng Shui. 1.2.1 Especially if the house opens to a beautiful "backyard" etc... So you may in fact be describing about the "rear of the house" instead. 2. Flying Star Feng Shui can zoom in on areas…

    1. I believe you are trying to avoid moving in after the Chinese 7th lunar month beginning from 20 August 2009. 2. Thus, I also feel that continuing with the renovation is considered as a lesser of the two. 3. The plus point is that the activites you had describe is nothing new or serious: "such as polishing of floor, painting of house, toilet renovation, etc". Such activites are also done by many others present and past who had stayed in a home for quite some time. 4. Thus, in my opinion, all these activities that you had described are OK. Just that do take note of locations based on the Tai Sui and Five Yellow and Three Killings location for the year. Reference: htt…

  19. In reference to my previous comments, I would like to pose an intriguing question regarding the concepts of fame and recognition. What implications arise for individuals who do not own a home? One might argue that residing in a small room could still allow for the enhancement of these factors. However, what if someone lacks a home entirely? Does this mean they are destined to miss out on fame, travel, and other opportunities? Traditional Feng Shui, in its original context, examines broader landscapes, such as major cities like Canton or even entire regions like Singapore, before narrowing its focus to specific sites and buildings. Unfortunately, many F…

Frankly, it is difficult to change the external factors, since majority or all the time, we do not have control over this. It is not like, one can get the dragon side to be higher than what it is or the tiger side -- lower. This is not just possible. Thus, you have to consider maximizing the FengShui of your home by other means i.e. improve other areas of your home, instead.

  21. Lets look at this example where there is a bad #5 around. For example:- Mountain Star is #5 and Water Star is #9; Here, we must apply the Five elements concept. ASSOCIATION ONE: #9 = Fire element irregardless whether it falls under the Mountain or Water Star. In this example, we often say the the Water star #9 is being exhausted by earth star #5. Thus, overall, it is said that the Water Star is being block or wealth (water star) is blocked. Please note that the above still relies on the five elements concept. ASSOCIATION TWO: #9 from now to 2023 is the COMING PROSPERITY In addition, the knowledge that from now to 2023:- #8 = current prosperity #9 = COMING prosperity (e…

Dear Anon, 1. It is my advise that if your family face so much problems and if they are not staying together but separate: 2. It is acceptable to exhume the grave but: 2.1 This has to be done by experienced grave diggers. I have a very short writeup at http://www.geomancy.net/fs/exhume.htm 2.2. Usually, once exhumed, it is best to cremate the bones. 2.3. Cremation is considered neutral and will accordingly, will not affect the `decendants'. A place can be found at a crematorium to house the ashes of the dead. Alternatively, the ashes can be dispersed into the sea. This is done by many cultures and symbollically, your grandmother can be close to your grandfather as the sea…

Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: I got a plot with cut on North West Side. What could be the remedy for that? For a house, you still can correct with mirrors or creating a rock or garden feature to symoblically cover the missing corner. That is when you view it from the top view, it looks like the missing corner is covered. Generally, you can't correct a missing plot of land. Anyway, even if the plot of land is odd, as long as your house isn't odd shaped or missing, it should be fine. Hope that helps. These are TWO major considerations: A. Chinese customs and beliefs. B. Feng Shui 1. Under Chinese customs and beliefs: never move the current "marital" bed while pregnant or usually before one month after the 1st lunar month of giving birth. 2. However, if you no longer enter into that bedroom e.g. fly off to KL and never step foot back to your existing marital bed. 2.1 Then, after you had left the home, so long as you don't go back to see the bedroom with that bed; it is still considered acceptable. 2.2 Thus, if you completely left the bedroom; whatever is done to the existing bed is often considered a non-issue. 3. This is equally common. For example, often, a family s…
