Dear Angela, Apologies, if I side-track a-bit... Two years back, after buying my new home, I grew a bamboo tree. The rationale for bamboo tree was that I calculated, within two years, it would be useful. The reason was because my new house has a personal enclosed space. Althought the house is perfectly suited to me i.e. most suitable house under the Eight House and it also has a double `7' flying star in the current Period 7. Although it is considered an excellent house; like my previous home, it can have a fair share of `poison arrow(s)' that may need to be corrected. Just nice, when I shifted in end of last year, this bamboo tree was there to `cover' or protect my livi…

Dear Anon, Please see below:- By definition, brown (and green) belongs to the wood element. For example, oak, teak, american cherry wood (dark or light) etc.. belong to the wood element in lieu that their colour is brown. Where it comes to pine, it is still wood element but an experienced Feng Shui practitioner would ask their clients to avoid this type of material i.e. pine ( sold in IKEA ) as it resembles closer to `yellow' or earth element. Therefore, if in doubt, a FS practitioner would normally, try to advise their clients to go more for other popular wook grains such as teak and the popular cherry wood type of colour. 1. For most shapes, colour takes precede…

Dear Janna, 1. I understand that you are from Moscow, Russia. 2. If one notice carefully, each country has it's distintive cluster of developments. 3. For example, in Singapore and Hong Kong, many Feng Shui practitioners specialise in high rise buildings: commercial, industrial and apartments. 4. For example, in Singapore, approximately 85 percent of the entire population of 4 million people in Singapore live in government subsidised housing. This statutory board is called Housing and Development Board or HDB for short. 5. Therefore, many local practitioners see more (assessment of high rise buildings than say landed property). 6. Similarly, in Taiwan and even in Malaysi…

    1. In many of the recent messages, I had stressed that Shapes and Forms has a critical component: Qi. Here, with much understanding of how qi flows e.g. in a room. 2. The other critical situation is the "Ming Tang" or Bright Hall effect. For example; the frontage or even the main door area if possible should have some clear space. Here, clear space means that there is a likelyhood that qi can "collect" at that position. 3. Your question is very wide and "it depends". 4. The purpose of Flying Star Feng Shui is to see where the most yang Qi is located. And this is most likely the higher chance that qi can move into a home. 5. Here, the common denominator of both the Sha…

    1. The room layout(s) : Office and Home should always be considered also, when deciding how your tables are placed. 2. For those doing business, ideally, the first choice direction should/could be your "prosperity" direction. However as I had mentioned above, the layout of the room i.e. the location of the door, windows - are also be be seriously looked, or taken into consideration. Even the postion of things like air-conditioner (in-moveable object) and any beams, any poison arrows caused by corners of filing cabinet(s) etc... 3. Since the Tai Sui will be changing in a few weeks soon, this will become a "non-issue" for your existing desk placement.

Hi Cecil, I came accross one of your old responses to a poison arrow issue dealing with "tit-a-tat" feng shui. The house accross from mine has several pointed roofs, and one is directly pointing at my main door (and is also on top of its main door). However, my house is the same floor plan but flipped so the pointed roof above my front door also directly faces my neighbor's main door and thus directly faces its pointed roof. Is that enough to create a "tit-a-tat" feng shui or do I need to cure the poison arrow? If I do need to cure the poison arrow, how would I go about it? Thanks!

In my opinion, like any other fields; a parallel is in medicine; the term "Triage" is very important. In Feng Shui also, holitistic Feng Shui is also about applying both Shapes and Forms and Compass School Feng Shui. The most important key term is: the Forms (Shapes and forms) determine the Stars and the Stars determine the fate of the people living in that home. If you are able to correctly fix "leaks" in the home or even know where to enhance qi; then this is the best senario. If you are able to DIY correctly; often crucial leaks can be many forms. Under Flying Stars; in your case, a high success factor is to zoom in and especially try to neutralise #3. Maybe it is pre…

  9. Dear Anon, Thanks for bring up this question. Mr Chetan is a new member to this forum. It is never my intention to propose or publicise as far as possible solutions that involve `paid reports' available in this website. Also Pillars and Five Elements are `more' advanced subjects and is more `difficult' for a new user to digest. It is also good to relook at a relationship not based on Feng Shui as most cases, it is usually communication such as `listening ear' etc.. In my opinion, I believe that Mr Chetan is new, as some users are aware, we have users who `faithfully' login everyday or had read almost all the forum messages. While there are new users. It is difficult to …

  10. Dear Anon, Potentially all long corridors have `difficult' Qi flows especially if they are narrow. Usually, if the corridor is reasonably large, plants are used (spaced out) along each side of the corridor. It can be alternated. But in a narrow corridor, some have used pictures or even a display shelf at the end of the corridor. For a toilet, it is best to close the toilet door when not in use and not leave it open. Warmest Regards, Cecil

  12. There are two options: Option 1. D.I.Y. (do it yourself)or Option 2. Get yourself on-site advice - as usually a geomancer will often apply the proper tools; do a survey and study and make recommendations to you. With your limited info; it is difficult or near to impossible to help you, here. For example, there are lots of info needed such as the compass directions, when the block was built, family particulars; how far, how high is the unit..... and more.... If you want to D.I.Y; then in my opinion, you need lots of patience and lots and lots of understanding ....... For this reason, many considered Option 2.

If you have the time, do visit her website where she has some interesting articles and she even expose `fake / bogus ' FS sites. 3. Please always keep an open mind about `Feng Shui' and what it can or cannot do. And also to becareful of new wave " Fast Food " Feng Shui. Warmest Regards, Cecil

  15. 1. In my opinion, this is modern times and not some medieval times. 2. Nowadays or even in the past, few people if any decide totravel based on the decision of whetherit is a good or inauspicious day to do so. 3. If we do so, there is very little leeway and our life is like at the mercy of or even considered as enslaven. 4. Mathematically speaking: 4.1.It is much safer to be travelling on a plane than say on the road. As the miles per incident is few on an airplane. 4.2. Dear Anon, 1. Wooden Ceiling beam The advise here is to use 6 `ancient' Chinese coins with square holes tied with red string. Here, Metal is used to destroy wood. 2. Cement ceiling beam Use two bamboo flutes to form the top profile of the Ba Gua symbol:- ____ / \ Here, the wooden bamboo flutes is used to destroy earth (cement) 3. Metal ceiling beam Here you can paint the beam red. As Red represents fire element and is used to destroy or control metal. What we are using is based on the Five Elements `Destructive Cycle'. Dear Christina, Usually, Feng Shui specialises in the `omens' of the earth. And less of use in Love and Marriage. Unless one believes in sector Feng Shui and hope to have a good relationship i.e. by beautifying or enhancing say the South West sector (Romance). This is to me a flawed concept. You could either use Chinese astrology or Pillars of Destiny to help improve/understand your relationship. Overall there are two `modules' and it depends on your level of use of it:- 1. A basic way of understanding one's characteristics say under one's horoscope. Here, the nature of love is one of the great mysteries of life. One way you can improve your relationship and love life by…

Dear Anon, Please see below:- 1. Overall, we are only considering the Year of birth sign of the three persons. 2. In general, under the Year of birth, since the three persons, share the same `birth' sign, it is considered that (very generally again) that their characteristics are considered similar for e.g. a dog is faithful and loyal. 3. Like its `Western cousin' the Zodiac sign, it can filter down to the Month of birth, day of birth and time of birth which may be different for each of the three persons. 4. Another `School' of thought is based on balance. One should not have too many of the same element together. This does not mean that it is no good to have all `do…

  22. Dear Angelica, 1. The most common Chinese astrology or Zi Wei Dou Shu is generally based on one's Year of birth. 2. For compatibility purposes, if we use the Year of birth only; then it is quite general. In my opinion, one reading of one person may not be enough. Another element to take note is that of " auto-suggestion ". For example, if we found out that a "Horse person" or a person under the above sign is considered:- "A Dragon person is lively and full of vitality. They are determined and have lots of self-confidence. Dragons are strong fighters, follow own judgement and can take control and deal effectively with any problems. They are also admired but have few cl…

  23. Further to what I had mentioned, 1. Authentic Feng Shui, Chinese divinity methods and Chinese medicine, food etc.. revolves around the Five elements concept. 2. Earlier, we have seen that Ba Zi makes use of an element and it's strength. E.g. weak wood or strong wood person? There is a total difference between the two. 3. Each day can be classified into strong or weak element. E.g. strong water element. 4. Under this new resource, please go thru the reply to Question 2:- http://www.geomancy.net/resources/art/arowanafish.htm For example, under Shapes and Forms, even the material and the design of a fountain conforms to the Five Elements concept. In some of the replies unde…

Also, as I'm a weak wood and the fire element in me is quite high, does the'fire' ornament I use to balance my desk increase my 'fire'? One should always rememeber that in Feng Shui, there are always important and least important cures.
