Seek General Advice from Master Cecil Lee

These are some considerations: 1. Just imagine a duck: we often see a duck gliding gracefully in a pond. 2. But, many of us never realise that the duck has to paddle (furiously) to look graceful. 3. Furthermore, this is a Free General Advice Forum. 4. Attached is a sample of the amount of work e.g. take many hours to come up with an analysis taking into consideration many factors. 5. Hope you understand, it is so easy to post a few lines of text and a layout plan. And PRESTO! everything is done for you FOC.

  2. Dear Deepti, 1. In general, this can be considered "inauspicious" based on common sense approach to Feng Shui. 2. The idea, here is because, any home that is lower than it's surroundings e.g. such as roads, may in some instances of heavy rain mean flooding for such "lower" homes. Hopefully there are not only proper drainage but also also, especially for some homes that relies on drainage to rivers (to the mouth of the sea). In many instances, such homes are affected by high tides. 3. Other than this, since no two homes are similar, each home has to be looked at in it's own merits or (Feng Shui merits). Such as where is the facing d…

    1. In general, many people perceive a temple as a "depository". For example, it can be a depository of hope i.e. people go into the temple to pray or seek help from the gods... Agnes C. wrote: Dear Master, myhouse is located beside the temple then someone commented that my house fengshui is not good.....pls.master advise me 2. Commonsense Feng Shui 3.1 Pollution It was reported recently that some Singaporeans developed lung cancer from frequently breathing in incense smoke, daily from praying to their gods e.g. Guan Yin etc... 4. Hi, My house located at the middle of L shape, we built low brick fence wall with garden bed with the brances plants like hedges along behind the brick fence wall. We planted branches plants so they can grow taller than low brick fence wall in order to block the street where’s cars coming in to the street (from left side), it is an end of street, on the right from front of house. Cars coming through from left. The council planted a seed tree (the tree has grown about 1.5m height) in front of our front yard ( in front of our brick wall fence) location is not exactly in the middle of L (but sort of blocking street a bit from cars coming through - right hand car). Dear Carol I do come across certain types of houses: 1. Broadly speaking, this house can be described as "entrapped." 2. The extent to which it is considered entrapped depends on several factors: 2.1 As you pointed out, it is at the same level as the other houses. 2.2 The neighboring houses are of similar height, and there are no dominant structures nearby, such as taller houses. 3. It is crucial to examine the frontage of all houses within or adjacent to this "entrapped" house. 3.1 For instance, if the house's frontage is aligned with the front house, which has a similar orientation and is approximately at the same level, the front house will benef…

Dear Christina As mentioned in the earlier e-mail; sometimes we may need to move out especially if the house is not as suitable to the breadwinners. However, we try not to comment further. A competent FS practitioner can usually help to identify the situation. If it is due to some things that can be corrected, then, it may help. As no two situations are alike; it is hard for me to mentioned it. I can recall, situations where; if it is really due to the location and `normal' FS is unable to "cure or correct this "; especially in situations where people face real situations of financial problems. In this situation, they are prepared to `swallow' the bitter pill such as sel…

  7. Dear Andrea, To correctly apply Feng Shui, this involves a holistic approach. And the key elements of the holistic approach is the Shapes and Forms (external, interior) as well as the placement and another critical factor is the birth-chart-of-the home. Such as also using the Compass School reading of the interior of the home. Unfortunately, much of what you had given is piecemeal. And it is anyone's guess as to what are the real "leaks-in-the-home" right now. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Unlike the Initial-opening which is also known as First-time-open-door procedure; just imagine; later on one should try to "warm-up" the kitchen. The best "warm-up" is the use of the stove. There is no harm to place the Fa Gao (Haut Quay) on the stove. Place it aside somewhere else later in the kitchen that's all. Frankly, the procedures are just symbolic. The act of bringing in the items are like "placing" wealth into a home. So long as the item and many other pass the main door; all it takes is simple commonsense. For example, if one were to bring in a packet of sugar, rice etc.. the natural thing is to stock up the kitchen. Be it, "now" or later. Do take note that ag…

These are some considerations: 1. Avoid marriage and even move house during Chinese Lunar 6th month? 1.1. There is some "truth" in this. As in the past and even today; some old folks or elders say that 6th lunar month is "half-half". As this is the mid-point of the lunar year. 1.2. And doing thing or getting married on a half-half 50-50 month is as inauspicious as e.g. 7th lunar month or Qin Ming month. 2. Lowest common denominator: 2.1. Traditionally, there are two methods in selecting dates:- 2.1.1. Tung Shu This book comes out a few months before the next year. It is not tagged to anyone's birth-date(s). And often, very popular with road-side fortune-tellers. Thus if o…

Hi Low Low, Generally, people always wants if possible to select auspicious dates whether it be for moving into the home, opening the door, opening a business etc. So generally, auspicious dates can be used in any of the areas. So long as you think it is an important event and need a date to do so. The Auspicious Dates analysis report is meant to do that. It does a detailed comparison based on each person's ba zi. As no one single person has the same luck. Then next is to check on the Tong Shu Dates to ensure like for example no one likes to move in during say the Qing Ming month etc. In your question, moving in is usually defined as selecting a date which you officially…

  13. Dear Anon, 1. This question is quite intriguing. 2. For the Chinese, many of our burial sites (past, present) have been Feng Shuied as very auspicious locations. 3. This is due to the belief that since the Ching and Ming dynasty, burying ancestors in choice sites will bring good luck for the descendants. 4. However, there is a catch - a good burial site does not always remain excellent. For instance, the surroundings may be altered by human activities such as construction, removal of soil, or ploughing down a hill or mountain to make way for construction. 5. In Singapore, many of the best auspicious sites were chosen for burial in the past: 5…

In my opinion, it sounds better than a house directly facing a temple. However, if the temple is on a North-East and South-West alignment and vice-versa; and your apartment orhome is aligned in this North-East to South-West; then one has to be extra careful of the concept of: "Devil's gate". Besides this, location, location and location is equally important.

Dear Anne, For an `L' shaped layout or even a distorted `L' shaped layout plan, it is usually best to divide the `L' into two rectangles or two squares. Each rectangle/square is evaluated overlaying the 9-square grid. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Momo, 1. If you are using the Flying Star House Number report, this is meant for apartments/flat and not landed property. 2. Usually, basing on house number may not be a good idea or a direct basis to determine how good or bad a house is. In Feng Shui, an audit based on Shapes and Forms and other Compass School methods, would be a better option to help increase or improve one's luck. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, 1. Chinese numerology and even any other numerology can be very confusing. This is because, there can be varied interpretation. And the same number can be considered auspicious but can also be interpreted as inauspicious. For example: a number such as 5. Some consider it auspicious because, 5 represents `balance' or the Five Elements concept. While others may view it differently e.g. Flying Star number which is inauspicious as it is also known as " misfortune " or Deadly Yellow or bad yellow star. 2. In Chinese numerology, the phonetic sound is equally important. Especially numbers like 4 represents " die " in Cantonese. While `8' represents `fatt' or prosperi…
