Dear Anon, It is good to use a white primer first. Although it has nothing to do with FS. As long as the colour has been changed; what cannot be seen can no longer `influence' or be used. Therefore, by painting the wall rosy beige, it will be `influnenced' by this colour. Therefore, in my opinion, it does not matter that you have to remove the black paint first. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Faten, 1. Feng Shui and other Chinese divinity methods is about trying to increase our `LUCK'. 2. Overall, we have commented usually only about the interior of the home. 3. Factors such as the Shapes and Form of the site, the external environment need to be taken into consideration. Plus other `LUCK' factors that may not have been taken into consideration. 4. Therefore, as you had mentioned only, we are currently `focused' only about part of the `LUCK' or a percentage of the overall `LUCK'. Thus one may still achieve overall luck in other areas. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, The best option (if you can) is to place a partition between the door and the toilet entrance. The partition can either be closer to the toilet area or the main entrance door. If the layout of your home is `L' shaped, it would be good to break the room into two `rectangles' using a divider. If you are using a divider to block the view of the toilet/ main entrance, it need not necessarily be of full height i.e. not necessary to be up to the height of the ceiling. So long as if one stands at the main entrance and cannot see the toilet door it (the toilet door) no longer becomes a `threat' or Sha Qi. The other option is to close the toilet door when not in use. …

Dear Yijun, 1. You have not mentioned whether you are a person with `Strong' or `Weak' water. 2. If you are a person with Strong Water element, then earth can help. For example, under the Five elements concept, Earth destroys Water. So if you are a person with Strong Water, earth can be used to exhaust your Strong Water. And this would be beneficial to you. 3. If you are instead, a person with Weak Water, you should not add too much Earth. As Earth can futher weaken your Weak water element. 4. If one is trying to add earth element, one should be more `careful' since it is not advisable to introduce Earth element to sectors in the home especially if one had not done a FS a…

Dear Wendy, 1. Since you already have confirmed moving into the home, yes, you can check out the house orientation viz a viz the main entrance door after you have moved into the house. 2. In macro Feng Shui, the best method to determine how good the site is; is to look at the overall city or county where your home is located. 3. We have to remember here that macro Feng Shui is important. The general well being of family households lies with the location i.e. city / county that one's home is located. 4. Next, the external environment of your home. As you had mentioned, your house is shielded by a large hill. 5. In general, the prosperity of not only your house but your ne…

Dear Raju, For a person who is a `weak earth', a water position such as a fish tank is neutral to your element. Here are some guidelines to the placement of a fish tank: 1. One method is to use the Flying Star to analyse each sector of the house for imbalances. 2. If one does not want to use method 2, then, the most common method is: 2.1 Shapes and Forms The fish tank can be placed in the living room or a private room. Avoid placing it in a study room as it may be distract the person studying in the room. 2.2 One School of Feng Shui feels that the stand of the fish stand should match the location e.g. a black stand at the North; a Green or Brown stand at the East etc... …

Dear Anon, 1. In my opinion, there is a major flaw in wanting to apply sector/area or corner Feng Shui. 2. For example, how is it that everyone's career area is in a fixed position? For example in the north? 3. This kind of theory cannot hold for everyone and it does not make sense to `pay homage' to this sector. 4. Overall, many a questions were asked as to how can I improve my `career' or `wealth'? Can Feng Shui provide the answer to this? 5. We have to understand that Feng Shui is about bringing in harmony to the house and MAY not be directly related to career or wealth. 6. What does all this mean? If one wants to use Feng Shui one has to remember that with proper use,…

Dear Anon, 1. In my opinion, it is difficult to the energy from an existing home to a new home. 2. As you mentioned, the best `enegry' is the `energy' or the memories in one's mind and the minds of people who lived in that home. 3. For cleansing a home, especially a new home: 3.1 Often, salt is used or sprinkled more often in the toilet area or corners of the home. 3.2 For the Chinese, many use rice and sprinkle them throughout the home. 3.3 Others invite e.g. Priests or monks/nuns etc... 4. As for cleansing an existing home, this is not usually done by the previous home owner but rather the new home owners and may follow Steps 3.1 ... Warmest Regards, Cecil

  10. Dear Latha, One may have to determine how long one has been married. In my opinion, although there are references to pregancy under the Flying Star chart where the combinations of the mountain and water star interact to give an interpretation. However, with advancement in the science of fertility, it is best to seek the advice of doctors in this specialised field praticularly if one has been married for more that 3 years and have difficulty in conceiving. Thus in my opinion, it is more worthwhile to spent money seeking fertility advise than to rely on FS. Or follow some of the methods used such as taking the temperature to check for ovaiation etc... I believe, more succe…

Dear Brenda, Yes, a small decorative screen next to the toilet so long as it is sufficent to block the view of the toilet and not the whole bathroom would suffice i.e. OK. For a mirror facing the front door normally this would not be advisable as it would reflect Qi or disperse Qi and may not be that advisable. It also depends on other factors i.e. distance to the door etc... If a mirror has to be used, a sloping mirror (similiar to those found at some shop shops for customers to view a pair of shoes) i.e. sloping would be an alternative where it is not perpenticular to the door. Warmest Regards, Cecil

  12. To the Chinese, it is unlucky to give especially someone: 1. A clock. 2. A pair of shoes. But since this is a watch.. it dwells more on beliefs or coincidences. But generally, it is felt that giving knives is not good since it is symbolic of sharp or pointed objects. Nevertheless, as relationships are built on communication, trust and interaction of the two parties, if you want to try to continue with your relationship, should perhaps, have a `hard to hard' talk with your ex-boyfriend and see how things goes.... Dear Wasis, We live in a practical world and many of us should not be deprived of books (some of us loved so much). For `bookworms' or those who simply love books, would be surrounded by them. Therefore, the only practical advise is to keep them neatly.. it would be good to have them kept inside bookshelves. If one has open bookshelves, so much the better. Although it is said that books are like knives, I could try to avoid placing it facing the bed. If one's bedroom has sufficient room for the bed and a separate area for say the study area or small corner bookself, facing away from the bed, the better. Else, for many people, it is still acceptable here. Warmest Regards,…

Dear Joyce, 1. I am not sure if you are familiar with the atttached method of finding the main door of the house:- http://www.geomancy.net/fs/cecilcompass.htm 2. If you have the layout plan and have difficulty finding the centrepoint e.g. especially if the house has many missing corners, then you - scan and attached it to this forum for me to help locate the centrepoint. Alternatively, you can email me for my fax no. (if need be). 3. I believe, the description you mentioned in finding the main entrance may not be `correct' as what I can understand. You need to be at the centrepoint of the house and from there, find the direction of the main entrance door. There may be dev…

Dear Blanche, This is acceptable because: 1. In general, for example, some consider books are like knifes with `cutting' edges while soap, lotions are usually rounded. 2. One has to spent time at the location. As the toilet is usually a transit area... and we do not spent all our time there, there should not be any issues there. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Joyce, The door leading to the living room should be taken as this is usually the main entrance door. It is best to do a proper reading of the main entrance door direction else the Flying Star analysis may not be accurate. When you have the proper readings, please e-mail robert-lee@geomancy.net for another report - Group analysis paid report. This report is specifically tailored by me to focus only on the most important interactions. I believe it would prove very useful to help your friend. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Blanche, 1. I believe in proper application of Feng Shui, usually the colour co-ordination and colour / material of furniture should take into consideration the personal element of the person and his/her partner. 2. This is where, a person's element is determined i.e. weak or strong element. In addition to this, if one has a spouse, the binding element of the two are usually taken into consideration especially in the bedroom and areas such as the living and dining room. 3. The Flying Star analysis is also taken into consideration under Para 2 and the particular sector i.e. South West. 4. If para 1, 2 and 3 is not taken into consideration, then you may have best to go…

  20. Dear Jun, The two most important considerations are: 1. Try to the entire room rectangular /square and not odd shaped. This includes the existing and new area. 2. Avoid creating missing corners or sectors for the extension. It is best to have a top down view of the property to ensure that the house is not odd shaped. 3. If the house has a profile of a head i.e. head jutting out of the home, avoid making the `head' of the house heavy! An illustration of an auspicious house becoming inauspicious due to a heavy `head' is as follows:- http://www.geomancy.net/fs/grandpa1.htm If one makes the head of the house heavy, it is very inauspicious and can result in death of the bread…

Dear Anon, Overall, the home should be kept `bright' as opposed to dark (or darkness). Most of the time, "advise" provided would focus more on `interior' decoration and how each person (can be the individual or the FS practitioner) percieve about how sectors of the house can be `decorated'. Keep the basics correct such as good shapes and form, first. Warmest Regards, Cecil

  24. Dear Anon, 1. In most traditional FS practises, the person's true element i.e. weak or strong element is taken into consideration especially in trying to make the room more closely `fit' the Ba Zi of the person. 2. Thus, if you are a weak water person, light blue colour and even blue colour bedsheet is considered beneficial to a person with weak water element. 3. The caution with `blue' lies with it over a person or room. For example, it is avoidable to paint the ceiling of the room blue. As this represents `difficulty' or water weighing on a person i.e. in the room. 4. For a bedsheet, for example, one is sleeping on top of it. And e.g. light blue painted on the wall; doe…

  25. Dear Anon, 1. The symbolic method to making another main door is to place the house no. on that door instead of the `actual' main entrance door. 2. In my opinion, one can still use the other `main door' and it is not necessary to `seal' off that door. Warmest Regards, Cecil
