Dear Anon, In the past, the most common is the wood Hulu or original wood dried ones. However, in modern times (last few years) it is also common to find brass (gold looking) ones which represent the metal element. These two are if one wants to consider -- the two most "authentic" ones because of the following:- 1. It is often used or placed at locations with #2 or #5. Both are strong earth element. 2. Thus under the Five elements concept: ref: http://www.geomancy.net/resources/theories/fs-5element.htm 2.1 Under the productive cycle, metal destroys earth. Thus, many of those used to at #5 or #2 are made of metal such as brass / copper which resembles gold colour. …

  5. Dear Anon, If we strictly consider based on Chinese Astrology, the Rat is considered diagrammatically opposite the Horse. As such they are suppose to be one of the worst pairings in the Chinese Astrology (zodiac) signs. Reference: http://www.lovesigns.net However, phew! 50 years old? Go get a life, and since life at 50 is "really, really short"; why not.. even cannot MUST make it POSSIBLE! We can understand if one is 18 to 30 years. May be head-strong, stubborn or combative. But at 50 years old? Gosh! One should hopefully have mellowed down! And be more understanding! With regards to both the Chinese as well as Western zodiac signs: You see, many of us often read ou…

    1. According to Chinese astrology, yes, the rat and horse between themselves are SUPPOSE to be the worst pairing. 2. Auto-suggestion and self-fullfilling prophecy:- 2.1. If your boss is not "into" Chinese astrology or does not take it seriously, then it is best NEVER to bring up the subject nor show him nor bring to his attention the "incompatiblity" of both animal signs. 2.2. Dear Anon, Usually, this (toilet at the centre) of the apartment is considered as ONE leak. But often, as mentioned, it is considered as ONLY 1 (ONE) leak. Furthermore, what is exactly at the centrepoint is crucial. If it is the toilet bowl directly at the centrepoint then this is considered1 major leak. But directly at the centrepoint is just the entrance or walk area, and basin, then this is not as bad as the toilet bowl at this direct location. Many homes can do with or afford to have more than 1 leak. And as no two homes or apartments are identical; it is best to "investigate" into each home to check for:- 1. whether there are further or moreleaks? 2. what we can d…

The example given was a north house and as the map of the house also faces north. What about other facing eg. west house or east house? Do we take themain front door as north though it is a west or east house report? You need to first determine the North direction of the house. Then divide the house from the centerpoint into 8 direction. Then orientate the eight house or flying star chart so that the North correspond to the North of the layout. Then you will be able to know which sector is what direction and how i…

Dear GA, Usually, the confusion arise because of two "concepts":- 1. Based on the `unrecognised' Black Hat Sect concept, according to this "method" which is not recognised by all Traditional Feng Shui Schools; the template used here is "fixed" i.e. the template is the same for every home. 2. If you mentioned about the Eight House template, you can visit this url: http://www.geomancy.net/fs/house1.htm for a step-by-step guide in the proper use of the Eight House template. 2. Briefly, get a layout plan. Mark out the true compass direction i.e. North-South direction as measured using say an ordinary compass. 3. Next, align the Eight House template, using the North-South as a…

Robert, Thank you very much for that clear explanation! It makes a lot of sense now that I think about it. Four Pillars merely indicates what sort of heavenly luck one can expect given the combination of heavenly stems and earthly branches that influence a period in time. Sorry to sound obsessive and/or aggressive, but I've spent some time in trying to understand Four Pillars. Just one more question? My investigation has revealed that my Day Heavenly Stem is Yin Metal and Year Earthly Branch is Monkey. My lucky element is fire. My romantic star is Rooster. How do my Four Pillar components affect my relationship with somebody who has Yang Fire in his Day Heavenly Stem, Sna…

  13. 1. The Flying Star concept uses the "Five Elements concept". And each Flying Star number is associated with the five elements. For example: #6 = strong metal and #5 = strong earth. 2. The 20 Year Flying Star Feng Shui In general each sector (North, South, East, West...) etc has three numbers; MS# W# B# (Mountain, Water, Base or Palace star). 3. When applying the Flying star, one should be looking strictly on the Flying Star numbers. Thus even in the West sector, if there is a double #8 then the rule of Flying Star applies that if this is the frontage a "proper water" position can be considered. 4. For simplicity, can understand that strictly North = Water, East = Wood…

Dear Janna, For individuals who may not possess strong mathematical skills, it is often possible to divide a layout plan into nine equal grids: If the toilet is situated in the central grid, this is regarded as a handicap. Nevertheless, when considering the main door, it is essential to observe its position in relation to the toilet at the front. The interaction between these two elements (the main door and the toilet) frequently influences the flow of qi, potentially introducing sha qi. Personally, as Robert and I evaluate as many as thirty layouts each day, it may be more efficient for us to rely on visual cues, as this method is quicker. Warmest R…

    1. In my opinion, your home should still be considered as a Period 7 home. (Unfortunately, it is not so simple to Fly to Period 8 as many have imagined). 2. Based on your description, in my opinion, it should usually be South facing. If you have stayed in this home for several years, no harm in drawing a Flying Star chart for both South and NW - and check to see if which is more accurate. (When checking the critical stars are #5, #2 and #3 negative stars which often leave some "clues" behind). 3. It is still a better choice to activate a water position (especially) if it could be done at the double #8 (current prosperity) sector. To "prevent" roving eyes, you can chec…

Dear Anon, Yes, under the horoscope sign Ox and Ram are not compatible. However, you are a Strong Fire Ram, while your husband is Strong Metal Ox. Your husband benefit from you as your Strong Fire helps to keep his Strong Metal in control. Your husband is also your wealth to your Strong Fire. So though your horsocope isn't the most compatible, but your five element is compatible. Therefore, your incompatibility isn't the most incompatible pair. So it isn't really that bad. Also, you can improve the relationship by having more water element. Please refer to this chart for five element and relationship:- URL: http://talk.geomancy.net Hope that helps. Warmest Regard…

    1. If you want to apply proper Feng Shui, it is strongly recommended that a detailed analysis be done. 2. Furthermore, some sectors may not be possible to be "cured". For instance if the toilet is there, it is there so no amount of "Feng Shui" may help in many instances unless the toilet is not there. So how, bang your head against the wall? 3. Thus it is always recommended to try to maximise luck from all other areas, instead.

Dear Anon, I am afraid, in general, Traditional Feng Shui does not look at "wealth corner(s)". Usually, when we talk about "wealth corner", it would imply something that is `fixed' such as based on fixed template. This is considered too general to be of any use for anyone. Therefore, hope u can understand that such things are not discussed here as they are not based on traditional FS. More likely a `gimmick'. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Carren, CARREN CHARLES wrote: How do we know the right direction to place a bed? CARREN CHARLES wrote: Says our best direction is west, we are laying on the bed with headboard behind our head: The best way to define the direction is by the positioning of your head and feet. ie say your best direction is West. This means that your head should be pointing West and your feet will be pointing in the opposite direction East. So this menas your headboard will be behind your head at the west. Hope that helps. Dear Anon, Yes, since 5 represents the floor level, you should enter it as #05-xxx. If your unit happens to be#05-01 (where 5 represents the level) and each of the units in a block are : 01, 02, 03, 04, 05, 06, 07 then should enter the numbers thus as #05-01. Alternatively, if your unit does not follow the above number arrangements then you may have to enter it as #05-501. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Further to what I had mentioned, since it is close to the next period, do wait for next year's analysis to see if a further set of six coins is needed. Or else, do let me know e.g. via private e-mail, what is your Flying star sector. And I can advise you to leave it on or not necessarily to place it on for the next year. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Thank you Master Lee for your reply. iv>How about commodities trading? Right now i am dealing with coal trading.v>Which element would that be? iv>Another question is, if im involved in advertising (favorable water), does it matter which aspect of it im involved in? if i am in the sales (fire) aspect, would that be fine? Or is it better if it is wood / water elements involved?

  25. 1. If you are following the Eight House concept, then sleep with your head facing a good direction. 2. As this is a free GENERAL advice forum; you may want to consider on your end, drawing a Flying Star chart. Usually, this is looked at : for example, if a sector has rather bad flying stars such as #5 or #2; then it may be better to sleep in other sectors.... this sort of thing....
