    1. In the Chinese metaphyics, there are three kinds of luck:- 1.1 Heaven Luck or born with (analysed thru Ba zi) 1.2 Earth Luck or Feng Shui of a home or office 1.3 Human or Man Luck. (Relationships with family members etc..) 2. Here, 'Luck is against you' refers to one's person Heaven luck is not so lucky. Thus, in the specific 10 year luck period, one is not born with a "silver spoon" nor have the "silver spoon" luck during that 10 year period. 3. Thus, there are those who may not have good Heaven Luck, but have good family bonding, relationship support may even trascend even if one may not have that good earth luck. Dear Alex, It would be good if you can draw close sketch and attach it to this forum. I would like to answer your question but, I hope can understand that I would need to see the following clearly:- 1. The shape of your plot of land and the outline of the concrete-lined drainage ditch. In particular - the outline of the concrete-lined drainage. 2. Describe the gradient on all four sides of the house. 3. If possible, describe the surrounding houses e.g in front; side. Alternatively a street directory map of the sector of your house. Warmest Regards, Cecil

  4. Dear Mr Cecil, You mentioned in Eight House Theory it is advisable that an East person should occupy an `East house'. For an East person, therefore, a favourable house is one where the frontage/main door is located at either:-EAST, NORTH, SOUTH or SOUTH EAST. I belong to East Group, my unit balcony frontage is facing South 3 as shown in the diagram. In this case my frontage become located in SouthWest which is bad location(sector) for an east kua group. Does this house consider east / west house? What happen if the facing is good but located in bad sector? Will I still benefit from this house?

    1. Usually, if you have been using your English name most or all the time, now, frankly, it does not make any sense to change your Chinese (Mandarin) name. 2. However, some suggest that one may (could) make a "dog-tag" carved or eitched with your new name and "wear it". 3. Otherwise, it may be "pound foolish" to change your Chinese name. Even if you want to change your Chinese name, your new Chinese name should be "better" than your existing one - through proper advise. Dear Anon, Under the grand duke theory, one should not:- 1. Touch `him' or 2. Distrub `him'. In my personal opinion, it is best not to `touch' him because when you mentioned hanging the lights, it would mean touching some part of the wall. I personally feel very uncomfortable over this. Another point is that you should not distrub the earth outside this wall ie. place a supporting structure to `hoist' the lights. (If you really need to do so, try to use metal e.g. a metal space between the digging and the side of the wall. Unless you can hang the lights without doing any of the above without `touching' the Grand Duke it is fine. The Grand Duke (of Jupiter) is said to b…

Dear Anon, In order to understand `better', I like to share with you the fact that in the past, Chinese usually avoid having a toilet in the house! Here, there is totally no toilet at all. Hopes the above `answers' your question. For those who love water or long baths, it is not so good news. In my opinion, where possible the toilet bowl should not be at the true compass points i.e. at every 15 degree increments as this is based on the Flying Star 24 directions. The reason is because, if it so happen to be at an auspicious sector, this is not `so good.' Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, Based on symbolism in Feng Shui, in my opinion, boxed beds are not considered `inauspicious': 1. It is still considered a `whole' bed i.e. it is not spilt up ned together (two single bed). Not "split up" even if it has two layers. 2. There should not be an issue on whether the bed should have a gap below it. This is because in many countires e.g. Japan, usually sleep even on tatami mats on the floor. 3. It is good to have paqua flooring or "wooden" flooring. This is because ceramic tiles or marble etc.. is `cold' to the feet. 4. Some worry that because of springs in the box beds, this is considered inauspicious. But, I personally believe that there should not b…

Dear Patrick, You can find out more about the significance of missing corners under this link:- http://www.geomancy.net/fs/building.htm In some homes, what may be assumed to be missing corners can alternatively instead be `protrusions'. If anyone is not sure, whether your house has `missing' corners or `protusions' can scan and attach for me to comment. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Generally, ROM already officially recognise the marriage legally. So it is as goodas holding a traditional wedding ceremony for many people. But most still go by the traditional wedding as more important event. However,it is advisable to keep at least 3 months - 6 months apart to ensure that the two couples do not clash each other's good luck. If cannot be avoided, then probably the couples should not attend each other's ROM or Wedding Ceremony to avoid the good luck from being clashed away. Hope that helps. W…

Dear Cah, So far, this combination of stars happen to be under the 20 Year Flying Star, Period 8, West 2 & 3. The entire story, here is that under P8, West 2 & 3; unfortunately sector NW has this MS 7 WS 9 and BS 9. Thus it is NOT exactly true to say that this is a location where we can enhance. BUT rather, a location that we SHOULD neutralise bad stars. Why? #9 or the purple star 9 is = Fire element And in addition to this, this sector has twice the number of #9's (x 2) Furthermore, the combination of MS7 with WS9 reacts resulting in sexual problems. Thus, you or the Master is correct to try to introduce "Water" into the sector. Water can help to drown or re…

Dear Mogford, In my opinion, if one considers a small apartment i.e. studio / bachelor's apartment: 1. Usually, the Feng Shui of the building and site should be considered. As this has the greatest influence on the unit i.e. or small apartment. 2. It is difficult to apply Feng Shui concepts especially the Flying Star and even the Eight House theory especially since the apartment is small. However, these concepts can be applied but as mentioned under Para 1; in my opinion, it is still best to relate it to the entire building. 3. One has to remember that majority of times, Feng Shui is applied to a large area and is used to find a city. 4. Under micro Feng Shui, it is the …

  16. Dear Will, 1. The main consideration of a house is that it should not have a large `mouth'. 2. From what I can understand from your description that your house has two main entrance. It is best to (as you have mentioned) try to use one entrance. This is because, too many openings at the frontage is not advantages. For example, if a house has sliding doors at the frontage instead of e.g. a pair of doors, and if the ratio of main door is pretty large in relation to the frontage, it can lead to e.g. females in the house becoming lonely or those who aer unmarried in a house, remain single. You can make use of the Eight House Theory to see which door is more favourable to yo…

Dear Richard, 1. Bearing any `supersitious' belief, it is generally acceptable to place the gift on a display shelf. 2. Where possible, on an open display shelf rather than enclosed one e.g. glass cabinet. 3. Para 2 should do. However, if it has more than four ie. five claws, try to let it be placed in the living room or `open' space within the living room preferably facing out of a window, or sliding glass area. 4. Avoid placing it in the bedroom (as it is considered too yang) and is bedroom is usually should be more yin (place of rest). 5. Avoid placing it on the same wall as the toilet. 6. Avoid placing it facing the kitchen door. 7. Avoid placing it facing the toile…

There is a stagnant corner of my bedroom where I grow orchids by the east window. This corner is also the wealth section of the room. One of the orchids had died and I neglected to get rid of it. During this time, money had become scarce and I found my wallet constantly empty. I threw out the dead plant and placed a small water feature in the corner. Not a day later, my started to pile up. It was a wonderful transition.

Dear Jan, 1. Generally, if one is undecided which is color to choose, use a neutral color like white colour. This serves another `purpose' ie to make the exterior `Yang' as opposed to `yin' dark. 2. Other `light' colors are generally acceptable. 3. More importantly, the roof tiles should not be in blue color as this represent water and may suggest `difficulty' for the household. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, In the past, particularly in China, the best sites were chosen for a city e.g. Canton, Fujian etc... In this case there is not much choice to have houses built near to a volcano. One way to see it is to apply the 33 percent ruleset. The roof is so tiny and it is not going to affect the environment. Even if it is red colour. Rather, it is the threat of the volcano that can change things. Look at it this way, if the volcano is going to erupt, it will with or without the red roof Warmest Regards, Cecil
