Dear Andy, I see that you are new to the forum. A warm welcome to you! Under the most basic of Feng Shui concepts, your desk can be arranged based on 3 FS concepts: A. Shapes and Form School: 1. Always place one side of the table flushed against e.g. a pillar or wall `for support'. 2. Where best, the back of the desk should not be a walkway. Ideally, you should have a wall behind the table. For a `solid' support. 3. Do not sit under a column. 4. Avoid poison arrow e.g. sharp edges pointed towards you. 5. The table should not be seen openly from a door or directly facing a door. 6. It should not be next to a toilet or facing one. The above are some of the general considera…

Further to what I had mentioned, this attachment shows one of the best facing directions of the study/work table at North (Prosperity direction). And if one "drags" the layout plan into the actual layout, it fits into each of the bedrooms (Master bedroom for Mr X) and the second bedroom for Mr Y. And for the bed, one will notice that one of the best bed head facing direction is East and this is the better facing direction of the bed-head vs having the bed-head facing a bad West direction. Warmest Regards, Cecil

    1. Frankly, it is best to apply Flying Star Feng Shui to look at the sector of your parents bedroom sector since you mentioned that your mum had a stroke. 2. If parents bedroom straddle between two compass directions then one has to evaluate and find out more whether any of the nasty sickness stars such as #5 = misfortune, sickness and #2 sickness. 3. The above are more important than a 2 dimension view of the bedroom or second guessing whether the bed is better to be placed next to the bedroom door or the other end. 4. You have to properly evaluate all these instead of prematurely, seeking advise. As it is like the blind leading the blind! And what can be worse! If s…

  6. Hi there, am a semi intermediate feng shui experimenter myself and though i may not be a 'Master' , such as Cecil, I might be of some help. I've watched quite a few feng shui videos and tried quite a few things. Cecil is quite right in saying that the BTB Feng shui is absolute rubbish (N = career, etc). I tried it for a year and it made me quite ill and ruined my life (in a nutshell). If you want help rectifying your fame and reputation, Your bathroom is considered to be where the reputation is. Make sure that is clean and looks good. remove plants and make sure it has generally good feng shui, (no feng shui trinkets however as these backfire, in my personal experience) (…

Dear David, Please see below:- This is because, firstly, many of the theories relate to : The Five elements concept. And this concept is not directly linked to the use of a compass. Even in the compass school of Feng Shui, there should not be a difference between the north and southern hemispheres. One of the main reasons is because, no matter where we are (especially up to as far as Australia or down under, the magnetic north is currently at the north pole. But however, many scientists are now ringing in alarm bells to say that the magnetic field is weakening in the last few decades and in the past, there was such thing as an entire swop of compass direction i.e…

Hi Anon, True Feng Shui does not really make use of any feng shui items or products. Feng Shui is all about creating a harmonious environment for everyone to life in. This means like ensuring the surrounding and interior of the home are properly layout, furnitures are arranged for best placement, bed placements, colour scheme etc. Such items does not have any magical effect nor do they come with any warranty that says that once you use it, it will bring you wealth or luck in X days. Feel free to wear or use it if you like the item, but do not expect any mircle from it in terms of Feng Shui point of view. Such items we normally classify as Human Luck factor. If it makes…

  10. Dear Ann, There are two methods of determining the placement of mirrors: 1. The most accurate is based on Flying Star Theory. Here, the house is analysed and the sector where the room (wall) is should not have inauspicious stars. For example if the sector of the room has a #2 Sickness or #5 Misfortune Star, placing a mirror at the location (wall) will double the effect. 2. If one do not want to go further than using such tools, would have to depend on one's personal feelings. If one feels comfortable, then place the mirror. As this is `trial and error' Feng Shui, when one place the mirrors avoid doing other `enhancements'. If it is placed correctly, there is no effect on …

Dear Anon, If one frequently falls sick in a home. Most likely if one does a Flying Star analysis, the `evil' 2 (sickness) or 5 misfortune star is at the location e.g. the bedroom. The proper Feng Shui tools should be used correctly to analyse or fine tune the situation. " What you see is not what I see ". Under the Shapes and Form School of Feng Shui, each of us have different levels of understanding. Some of us see nothing at all while others can pin point to the problem. One excellent example was what Evelyn Lip mentioned in one of her books. (Credit goes to her for this) I believe she brought out an example of an owner of the house, who faced difficulties with the hom…

Dear Anon, 1. For crystals, it is best placed in a location where it catches natural light. 2. Often, some FS practitioner would recommend it at the following locations:- 2.1 Where two bedroom doors are in alignment, a crystal is hang mid-way on the ceiling between the two doors. This is still acceptable. 2.2 Some FS practitioners recommend haning it to cure overhead beam. This may not be good. Because if we base it on the Five Elements concept, wood would be an ideal choice to cure concrete beams. And metal is good to cure wooden beams. 3. In my opinion, "crystals" e.g. especially of glass material are too highly commercialised today i.e. it is relatively cheap to produ…

  14. Dear Anon, The element strength is not calculated under the free report. Warmest Regards, Cecil

  15. Started by myfs_66858,

Dear Dirk, When one is using simplified analysis, using only the Year of birth, your Chinese star chart will be based on e.g. Fire-Dragon. Ref: www.lovesigns.net (Year of birth module). The free report would correctly indicate your element. However, the element and strength should be taken into consideration. For example, weak wood or strong wood. A weak wood person should have addition of water element to help wood to grow. A strong wood person differs from a weak wood person in that the strong wood should be neutralised. Here, he can make use of metal element. Where metal destroys wood to create wealth. Ref: http://www.geomancy.net/fs/5element.htm Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Sue, In a broad sense, both statements are correct. Usually, you need a competent Feng Shui practitioner to do a Feng Shui for an entire building. The practitioner not only takes into consideration the main entrance of the building but also the frontage. He/She also do an environmental scanning. Some Feng Shui practioners use only Shapes and Form here. While others combine Shapes and Form with Compass School techniques such as an extension of the Flying Star of the interior of a home to this building. In your case, you most likely be concerned with the interior assessment of your home. Unless you hire a Feng Shui practitioner who most likely will also do an overall a…

Dear Anon, This is a very interesting question: 1. I recalled one Australian Feng Shui practioner was doing an experiment (not so much of Qi) movement but rather how water is drained from a water pipe. She `found' that water drains from the water pipe, I forgot whether it is clock-wise or anti-clockwise. She `found' that this was difference from the North Hemisphere. I am not bring up the subject of the North or South debate but just my thoughts. If you were to ask me, my believe like others in the Feng Shui field is that the Feng Shui model plus Destiny models originating from the North Hemisphere (where China is) can be applied without modification in the Southern Hemis…

  20. Hello, Can you please explain how the flying star chart works with the Lo Shu chart for the year, the house trigram chart with annual numbers & the gua? I am confused because they all require different and sometimes conflicting cures, here is an example. I just want to know what takes precedence and what should be ignored. (1) Flying star KUN 252 degrees Period 7- South is 9,4 (good luck for new business & benefits sons)- need to add water & goldfish. (2) KUN House Trigram South- is 6,5 Money luck blocked sickness could prevail- use bells & brass mirrors (3) Lo Shu for2005-has 8 star on South for Wealth, which means I should add a water feature. (4) Gu…

  21. Dear Robert Labrecque, Generally, a vacation is just a short term stay at a different place like hotel or in camping a tent. Frankly, this isn't going to be an issue in feng shui. Your earth luck feng shui will still come from your Home. As for geomancy and camping, well you can still apply feng shui (if you really want, by knowing what direction is good using the Eight House). This concept can be used in virtually any thing you want better placemen (ie your work table, bed etc). So applying that to camping is still possible. But it is really not necessary as mentione vaction is just a temporarily short term stay. Unless of course you plan to stay in a place for a long…

Dear Lars, Thank you for bringing up an interesting question. I can understand your plight in wanting to try to apply the various FS theories. In previous forum messages, I tried to elaborate that priority should be given especially to the `Shapes and Forms' with regards to the location of the position of bed. Therefore, priority should be given to the `proper' placement of the bed. In your situation, although one's altar and mediation table is on opposite wall as the toilet; although it would be `nice' to change the location, but if it does adversely affect the `proper' positioning of the bed, do not do so. Leave the altar/mediation table as it is. Warmest Regards, Ceci…

  23. Hello there, I've received my full Bazi reading (plus career) and it says that I am a weak metal person with too much fire in my chart. In addition, I have a Creative Star in the fieldsof advertising, writing, marketing, art.My career element is wood and fire, but that my lucky elements are earth and metal (because I'm a weak metal). As a result,I cannot work in my career element of fire, and as for the career element of wood, it says that I can do it only if I am in contact with Earth element constantly. In addition, my life analysis tells me that I am destined for a hard life from the age of 30 (and I am 27 this year!!) I just don't know what to make of my reading. It …

Dear Anon, In Traditional Feng Shui:- 1. The main door is important as it is like the `mouth' of the house. 2. The main important thing here is that the main door, must be "protected". "The mouth must not be hurt". For example, if a sharp corner of another building points to the house, it is known as Sha Qi or poison arrows. Other common arrows include, a single lamp post that slices the main door (tangent to it). Here, if one stands at the main door and looks out of the house, the object e.g. a lamp post should not slice the main door. 3. Besides, the main door, the frontage e.g. windows, should also be `protected' from some of the harm as mentioned above. 4. Tradition…

Dear Daniel, 1. The original purpose of Feng Shui is to: a. neutralise Sha (bad) Qi and poison arrows and b. enhance beneficial Qi. It can be used to find good sites for a city. For example, many Chinese cities e.g. Canton and even Hong Kong has good Feng Shui. For Hong Kong, consideration was given on how the dragon moves or passes from the mountain to the sea. This is why, many buildings there have either glass openings at the centre or `holes' in some of the buildings where some of the building owners want the `Dragon Qi' to touch and pass thru. 3. Feng Shui can also be used to look at a micro level e.g. buildings, homes. Basically, it is like the food chain where th…
