These are some considerations: 1. There are often four major considerations if one wants to place a water body somewhere:- 1.1. Trial and error: Some people, and based on their feelings felt that a water feature at a certain location would be good for them. 1.2. Flying Star Feng Shui: Need to plot a flying star chart and detect where is the water position. And place a water feature if that location is appropriate e.g. in the living room area or clear space area. And not the toilet. 1.3. Frontage of the garden. In past forum messages, I had mentioned that of all places in a home; often 60 to 70 percent of the time, even if one does not look at Feng Shui, any water position…

Dear Anon, 1. For the Eight House Template, you should consider three main uses of it: 1.1 To determine how suitable are you to the house. If the death or disaster line flows thru the main entrance door, this means that the house is under Eight House Theory, not suitable to you. 1.2 Check what is the intangible force affecting your bedroom. 1.3 Especially at work, this theory provides a guide as to the best facing direction. The above are the main uses of the Eight House Theory. Other than that it has `severe' limitations. It cannot be used as a `cure' as it is not linked to the Five Element Concepts unlike the Flying Star which using the Five Elements concept to check fo…

The main door seeing the kitchen door is not as bad, as the main door leading to an open window (which will mean you have a qi leak out of the house). 6. Dear JL, 1. The main purpose of all Feng Shui theories is to correct imbalances in the Five elements. 2. Under the Flying Star School of Feng Shui, for example if there is an imbalance e.g. a Sickness (2) star and a Misfortune (5) star. If the location happens to be the bedroom, one has thus to cure the imbalance e.g. placing 6 coins at that sector to cure it. Here, an imbalance is `calculated' and thus a remedy is used to neutralise the imbalance. 3. Many a times, when one usually fall sick, the above would most likely be the cause. Here, we take action to cure it for a specific reason. Being healthy afterwards, can be indirectly related to `fertility'. 4. Many Feng Shu…

Dear Fiona, In my opinion, symbollically one can change or replace 6 to 8 tiles. Yes, while doing so, try to allow light into the upper floor where the roof is. One can remove this ceiling board and replace this old one once this is done. No need to replace a new one. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Dongbin hu, dongbin hu wrote: My house has a patio door on the back of the guest room but doesn't have a back door. My husband is planning to change his office's window to a back door in case of fire. I've heard that change window to door isa big 'no no' in FengShui so I'd likesome advice from Feng Shui experts on our case. Generally, when you change a door or window, the Qi of the house will likely be affected. Especially, if the door or window happens to be the frontage/backdoor location. It would appear that the window you are attempting to change will fall in the badkdoor area. So yes, it would affect the feng shui of the house. Thus, it is best you carefully …

  9. Started by Madan Seda,

Dear Madan, 1. Under Period 7, a Double 7 is considered auspicious. 2. Thus, if the house continues to remain under Period 7 and there is a Double 7, then it is still auspicious house. 3. For example, in the Year 2005, if there are no major renovations made, a house built under 1984 to 2003 will continue to have a birth chart based on Period 7. 4.If so happens that this is a Double 7 (under Period 7), the house will continue to enjoy this Double 7. 5. However, in a period 8, 9 etc.. house, and it so happens that there is a Double 7 e.g. at the main entrance, than this is a different matter altogether. 6. In the same `order' under Period 1, Double 1's is very auspicious;…

Dear Cecil, Thanks a lot for your generous assistance. I did go through the old forum messages and you did mention is better not to concern on number of goldfishes to prevent the trouble of replacing if any of the fishes die. Actually I don't understand what is Flying Star Feng Shui but somehow number 8 is still one of the best numbers. I'll add in another 4 little goldfishes then. Thank you once again. rgds, Stanley

    1. Usually, if you have been using your English name most or all the time, now, frankly, it does not make any sense to change your Chinese (Mandarin) name. 2. However, some suggest that one may (could) make a "dog-tag" carved or eitched with your new name and "wear it". 3. Otherwise, it may be "pound foolish" to change your Chinese name. Even if you want to change your Chinese name, your new Chinese name should be "better" than your existing one - through proper advise. Quote: Anonymous wrote: Hi, My Chinese name has not beenused for a long time. But primary school friends used to call me by that name alot. Subsequently, new friends at sec sch called me by my Eng…

  12. Frankly, it is just a general statement. For enhancements or cures, the holistic approach to Feng Shui like application of Eight Mansions (Eight House) or Flying Star would be good enough. For Flying Star Feng Shui, usually areas affecting relationships are the sectors that may contain #3 conflicts/quarrels. Quote: Anonymous wrote: Dear Cecil, I was wondering how accurate is that, the House ### have the effects on the occupants of the house. If it is, then there must be some kind of cures for it. My house is P5 #2104 facing S. It's said Mother and Daughter don't get along. Please, give me some advises, Thank you for your kindness.

Dear Ang Chye, For married couples, it is not adviseable to us/placee two beds joined together. But for children, there should not be an issue of joining the two beds together to form a bigger bed. The best advise is if one is using two sets of bed is to leave a gap between the two beds. Dear Anon, 1. One thing for sure: Economically, it has future resale potential being in a popular/higher priced area. 2. In terms of Feng Shui, these are `point-block' type of condo. 3. And, point block condos are, in my opinion, has better qi flow and `points' of entry of qi in and out of the unit(s). 4. The major consideration is that although this is a `point block', it does not have the rectangular point block feature. A rectangular point block often has at least `three-points' of qi flow e.g. balcony, various bedrooms and kitchen or back area. And a forth, qi flow coming from the main door. 5. But the condo does allow for exceptional length of `frontage'. 6. As for …

Dear Alex, 1. In Japan, the Feng Shui practitioners usually practise `9-Star Ki'. 9-Star Ki is one and the same as Flying Star Feng Shui. The only difference is that because of the way, information has been collated, one should not mix the two together. 2. My recommendation is that you either follow one or the other but not use both. 3. Usually, a holistic approach in Feng Shui i.e. if properly used i.e. to enhance the Earth Luck thru Feng Shui and Heaven Luck thru Pillars of Destiny, may help in this area. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, Frankly, due to seasonal changes and like you had mentioned, your weather condition, if trees cannot really grow the second half, there is not much one can do here. It is difficult to find a subsitute for real trees and plants. In doors, some Feng Shui practitioners believe that artificial plants can `subsitute' live plants. But again, this is for `cosmetic' look/decoration only. I believe in the past, NASA had carried out experiments on plants in the interior of offices and found plants are `beneficial'. Recently, I read another article, saying that plants are `ineffective' inside the home or office i.e. to absorb `pollutants'. Therefore, one has to have an op…
